Experts say climate change could
result in higher coffee prices

Louisville, Ky. — Could climate change mean paying more for your morning cup of coffee? One climate panel says "yes." According to the intergovernmental panel on climate change (IPCC), pests, rising heat and extreme temperatures resulting from climate change may actually impact the supply of coffee. The news has those in the coffee industry worried. "I am very concerned," said Mauricio Galindo, head of International Coffee Organization. "I would say climate change is the most serious threat to the sustainability of the coffee supply chain right now." The IPCC says that a temperature rise of just 2 to 2.5 centigrades

Comments:
Coffee production to decline exactly 34% over the next 6 years because of Global Warming. As noted coffee aficionado Frank Zappa said, "The torture never stops."

Rising prices of imports have nothing at all to do with the Federal Reserve creating improbable amounts of money from thin air, to prop up unsustainable federal gübermint spending; just ask any moron jour-no-list and you´ll be greeted with a blank stare.

We need to put an emissions tax on any intestinal flatulence based on the decibel level of the escaping gasses! Monitoring stations could be created that would contain high amp microphones that would pinpoint any abrupt animal discharges of methane gas. NSA could oversee the technical operations and Homeland Defense could then arrest the miscreants and round up the animals. Studies have shown that most of the methane flatulence comes from Washington DC! We need to tax the government first until they cannot print anymore money and then every living thing that breaks wind. Soon liberal progressives will decriminalize drug crime, rape and child molestation and use the money they save to conquer global warming!

Washington and Lee University expressed regret Tuesday for the school’s past ownership of slaves and promised to remove Confederate flags from the main chamber of its Lee Chapel after a group of black students protested that the historic Virginia school was unwelcoming to minorities. President Kenneth P. Ruscio’s announcement was a surprising move for the small, private liberal arts college in Lexington, which has long celebrated its Southern heritage. Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee served as the university’s president after the Civil War, his crypt is beneath the chapel, and the school has gingerly addressed its ties to the Confederacy

Hackensack — As a prosecutor detailed the events that led him to this moment, parking meter coin thief Thomas Rica sat before Superior Court Judge Patrick Roma at his sentencing Wednesday completely expressionless. Budget cuts and tight resources plague Newark public schools, but even in these tough economic times, the Newark Public Schools District has approved tens of thousands of dollars a month in spending on take-out food and catering. An I-Team review of district spending over a 15-month period ending in May found that Newark administrators spent more than $330,000, or an average of about $22,000 a month on food from places like Sandwiches Unlimited, SuzyQue´s BBQ, and King’s Family Restaurant and Catering. Police say it happened just after eleven Thursday night at the Amtrak station east of downtown. Witnesses claim they saw Fobbs pacing back and forth in the waiting area before suddenly attacking a 56-year-old man sitting on a bench. The White House on Tuesday formally requested $3.7 billion in emergency funding from Congress to deal with an influx of Central American minors along the southern border. But the proposal was quickly met with broad skepticism among Republican lawmakers, who were doubtful that the package would be approved quickly — if at all. Administration officials said the request is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at building more detention centers, adding immigration judges, and beefing up border patrols and air surveillance. President Obama has said he hopes such steps will both speed deportations and discourage adults from sending children on

Despite fiery statements issued by Hamas spokesmen over the past 48 hours, it was obvious Tuesday night that the Islamist movement was searching for ways to rid itself of the current escalation. Hamas feels that it has been forced into a confrontation with Israel – one that it did not want at this stage because of its increased isolation and financial crisis. The massive Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours have surprised Hamas and other Palestinian groups. Hamas apparently expected a limited response to the recent rocket attacks on Israeli cities and towns. But as the

Starting next week, House Republicans will launch a highly visible—and likely tumultuous—three-week process of bringing to the floor legislation to authorize their promised lawsuit against President Obama over his use of executive actions. "In theory, you could report out a resolution tomorrow and vote on it," said a House GOP aide on Tuesday. "But that is not the approach [the leaders] want to take." Rather, the aim is to display—if not actually engage in—a more deliberative process, even if amid controversy. This drawn-out script builds toward a potentially dramatic floor vote held just days, or even hours, before the House adjourns on

Fate hasn´t been kind to Hillary Clinton, at least not in its most recent phase. In 2008, when the plate was set for the national Democrats, she lost the nomination to Barack Obama, of scant years and no gravitas, who soared out of nowhere to wrench destiny from her on the unspecified promise of "change." Now, "change" has come, and people don´t like it. Iraq changed from a safe, stable ally (just ask Obama) to a terrorist haven, one of the reasons why, though no fellow Democrats seem likely to edge her, her chances of winning the White House seem dim.
