Obama administration delays
Keystone XL decision, potentially
until after Nov. elections

Washington Examiner (DC), by Zack Colman

The Obama administration is extending the agency review period for the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline, potentially delaying the decision until after the November elections -- sparing President Obama a tough political decision in the process. A senior State Department official said agencies have stopped crafting comments because a Nebraska Supreme Court decision could change the pipeline route and, ultimately, the environmental, socioeconomic and cultural factors that went into the environmental review. The official did not directly answer a question whether an altered pipeline route would require a new environmental review.

Liberals should never be elected to any public office. Their incompetence and their ridiculous Utopian fantasies always hurt the normal people in our Nation.

Why is gas at $3.40 a gallon? Answer - Stupid liberal fools.

Perhaps the Canadians should just go ahead and announce they´re building the pipeline west to the Pacific and selling the oil to the Chinese.

And send a nicely worded "thank you for your consideration, but we´ve decided to go in another direction" note to Dear Leader(US) and Jon Cary, who by the way, served in Vietnam.

Chances are he will announce that he will approve the pipeline at a time that he believes is appropriate to give the Democrats a boost in the November election. Everything that Obama does and says from now on will first be evaluated beforehand to see how much of a boost it will give Democrats, and how much it will knock down Republican chances in the election.

WASHINGTON– Five years after the Great Recession officially ended, most states still haven’t regained all the jobs they lost, even though the nation as a whole has. In May, the overall economy finally recovered all 9 million jobs that vanished in the worst downturn since the 1930s. Another month of solid hiring is expected in the U.S. jobs report for June that will be released today. Yet 32 states still have fewer jobs than when the recession began in December 2007 – evidence of the unevenness and persistently slow pace of the recovery. Even though economists declared the recession over

Sen. Thad Cochran’s (R-MS) top campaign operatives hung up on numerous members of the national media after a press conference call Wednesday. The call was intended to rebut state Sen. Chris McDaniel’s campaign’s allegations of voter fraud in Mississippi’s GOP primary runoff. Instead, it turned into a circus. “Quick question,” an unidentified man interrupted senior Cochran campaign adviser Austin Barbour on the press call. “You’ll have an opportunity to ask a question at the end of the call,” Barbour fired back. “Listen, I will give everyone an opportunity to ask a question when we get through. President Obama doesn’t plan to accept an invitation from Texas Gov. The former first lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos celebrated her 85th birthday today by paying a solemn visit to the body of her husband. Mrs Marcos visited the crypt of former president Ferdinand Marcos in Ilocos Norte in the north of the country and even kissed the glass coffin where his body lays in a white jacket, ceremonial sash and polished medals. The former leader of the Philippines has remained unburied since his death in 1989 and has lay in a temperature-controlled mausoleum since 1993. This Independence Day weekend, drivers won´t see any relief from high gas prices. Although prices retreated by a fraction of a cent at the beginning of the week, AAA predicts holiday travelers will pay the most at the pump since 2008. In its monthly gas price report released June 30, AAA said, "With Independence Day only a few days away, today´s national average price of gas is $3.68 per gallon. This average is considerably more expensive than recent years for the holiday. The national average on July 4 in previous years was: $3.48 (2013); $3.34 (2012); $3.57 (2011); $2.74 (2010);

On this day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed and the door to the United States of America opened even wider. Nobler pens than mine have graced this event with prose, but I think it is worthwhile to reflect that however impossible the American Dream might seem to us today, it seemed a great deal less plausible to the Founding Fathers then. I defer to John Adams, who penned the following letter (shown here in part) to his wife, Abigail, describing the tumultuous events he helped orchestrate. Adams´s view that July 2 would be a day of celebration

Americans are in a period of amazingly negative thinking about the state of our country. A recent Gallup analysis drove home how deep and how threatening the current mood is. Gallup asked Americans in early June how much confidence they had in our nation´s institutions. The answer: not much. Only 30% had "a great deal" or "quite a lot of confidence" in the Supreme Court. Just 29% felt that way about the presidency. And an abysmal 7% had faith in the Congress. Think about what this means. Our most trusted national institution, the unelected Supreme Court, has the confidence of
