8 charged in South Bend toddler´s
shooting death -- 2 still on the run

WSBT-TV [Mishawaka, IN], by Kelli Stopczynski

Original Article

South Bend — Eight people are facing criminal charges for their involvement in the murder of 2-year-old John Swoveland Jr. of South Bend. Police say the shooting happened during a fight between two rival gangs. Two of the eight suspects are still on the run, say police, and are armed and dangerous.(Snip) Investigators say a stray bullet hit Swoveland in the chest last week while he played outside a relative´s home on Campeau Street. They say the shots were fired while two gangs were fighting blocks away. The two rival gangs met up at Coquillard Park for a fight.

Comments:
Young white child shot dead because black street gangs were doing their thing. We can´t fly on airplanes without being groped and x-rayed, ordinary Americans are under constant government surveillance on the pretext of protecting us from terrorism, and yet, the demographic most likely to kill is portrayed as oppressed victims and showered with every taxpayer benefit, while the potential victims are told to hang their heads in shame because of imputed White Privilege racism.

I find it distasteful and awful to view so often these stories and the not-so-veiled racial comments following. And yet ....
More than 30 years ago I had some involvement in law enforcement activities in the upper midwest. I was appalled that the private conversations between cops included the term "standard description number one" to denote "black male 17-29 years of age, 5´7" - 5´11" tall, 145-175 lbs, brown and brown". I was appalled. And yet, over and over and increasingly, I see these incidents and, yes, "standard description number one" applies. I don´t like that, and don´t like my acceptance of it and what it implies. But it is what it is.

re #1 - welcome to the real world, I was in law enforcement 30 years ago on the west coast and the shorthand we used (sometimes) was "a male usual". Things are now an order of magnitude worse due in part to the acceptance of awful behavior on the part of a demographic. (see polar bear hunting, knock out game, rap music lyrics, flash mob/riot (and rob) and on and on). I´m sorry if that offends your sensibilities but until more people decide we´ve had enough it will just get worse.

#1, the best engineers deal with reality - as it is, not what they wish it was. The ´standard description number one´ (SDNO) elements of society (in significant numbers) consistently made choices that put them where they could be described simply; i.e. SDNO. A society that doesn´t eradicate such elements from it´s midst is doomed. Or as another said, a society that doesn´t defend itself soon ceases to exist.

Far from eradicating - our powers that be are nurturing, funding and financing, promoting, encouraging and granting favored untouchable status to this element. The parts of society that does not want this among us has been neutered and cowed to keep quiet and submit. Our side does not have a forceful voice to oppose.

Agree with the above, but isn´t this called "Policeman´s Syndrome?"

Who do cops deal with every day? Lowlifes. Failures. Drunks. Drug addicts. Whores. Abusers. Predators. Anybody with an excuse.

Mostly, not people with their stuff in order.

With its finances in the red and its role sharply curtailed, questions are being raised about the long-term future of the agency that put New Jersey on the map of big-time sports. But no matter what its fate, the hard truth is that the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which once netted tens of millions of dollars annually from The Meadowlands Racetrack and Giants Stadium, will likely be a lingering financial liability for state taxpayers. A series of decisions by officials over time have left it marooned, with significant structural costs and little means to pay for them

It has been six weeks since the city turned off Nicole Hill´s water. Dirty dishes are piled in the sink of her crowded kitchen, where the yellow-and-green linoleum floor is soiled and sticky. A small garbage can is filled with water from a neighbor, while a bigger one sits outside in the yard, where she hopes it will collect some rain. She´s developed an intricate recycling system of washing the dishes, cleaning the floor and flushing the toilet with the same water. There were 12 people shot — two fatally — in less than seven hours as wave of violence swept across the city early Sunday, cops said. The bloodshed began around 12:30 a.m. in the Huntspoint section of the Bronx, where a man was shot in the back, cops said. Less than two hours later in East Harlem four people were shot when a flurry of gunfire erupted on the corner of 135th Street and Harlem River Drive, cops said. Mr Cameron made the comments in a preface to a book, "Rainbow over Westminster", which charts the increasing number of MPs who are black or from ethnic minority backgrounds. In the preface, Mr Cameron said that the book “serves as a reminder – that there is much more to be done. “Our Parliament is still nowhere near representative enough of

A failing hospital has paid at least 10 senior managers more than £200,000 a year despite providing unsafe care. An investigation by The Telegraph can disclose that Medway Foundation trust has hired more than 30 interim managers on six-figure packages over the past few months. The highest paid is receiving up to £540,000 a year. However, the hospital is about to be rated “inadequate” by regulators – the worst possible level – and even its own reports admit the trust needs 120 more nurses to provide patients with safe care. Once at the site of the one of the most important transgender riots in U.S. history, city officials unveiled a street sign honoring the late Vicki Marlane, one of San Francisco´s legendary performers. The Board of Supervisors in April approved a resolution to recognize the pioneer, who died of an AIDS-related illness in 2011.

White working class children are being “marginalised” at school after being forced to follow a multicultural timetable that shuns British traditions, according to research. Large numbers of schools follow a curriculum that celebrates a “diverse range of pupils” while sidelining those from poor British families, it was claimed. Head teachers told how they ran numerous projects such as Black History Month and “cultural days” to raise awareness of countries such as Portugal, Poland and Jamaica. But it was claimed that white British pupils from deprived homes often “cannot see themselves or their lives reflected in the curriculum”, turning them off

Sure, the EPA´s new pollution rules will raise the cost of electricity, forcing many Americans to use less of it. But don´t think of it as a price hike. "It´s actually about providing (Americans) more opportunities to reduce waste," EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy told Congress on Wednesday. Under the EPA´s demand-reduction scenario, Americans can retrofit their homes and buy more energy-efficient appliances, she said. This, in turn, will create jobs in government-approved industries. The sweeping EPA plan announced earlier this month sets carbon-reduction targets for each state, then allows states to decide how to meet those targets,

Facebook’s News Feed—the main list of status updates, messages, and photos you see when you open Facebook on your computer or phone—is not a perfect mirror of the world. But few users expect that Facebook would change their News Feed in order to manipulate their emotional state. We now know that’s exactly what happened two years ago. For one week in January 2012, data scientists skewed what almost 700,000 Facebook users saw when they logged into its service. Some people were shown content with a preponderance of happy and positive words; some were shown content analyzed as sadder than average.

And the pipeline would bring oil from Canada and North Dakota to refineries in the United States. But Obama rejected the plan in 2011 and 2014. Democrats are beholden to the radical green movement – the poor and middle class be damned. Hillary Clinton is just too unlikable (remember that Barack Obama called her “likable enough” in one of the most memorable back handed compliments of recent political memory), and too transparently greedy, self-serving, and out of touch.
