Fed Chair Yellen to Follow
Reagan´s ´Taylor Rule´

American Thinker, by Chriss Street

Original Article

Posted By:Judy W., 4/17/2014 7:27:04 AM

U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen gave her first speech on monetary policy since she took office from retiring Chairman Ben Bernanke. Yellen made it clear she is was focused on moving Federal Reserve (Fed) policy back to the “Taylor Rule” that was first implemented during President Reagan´s administration and for the next 30 years resulted in a period of low inflation and high economic growth. Conservatives and the youth should be optimistic that America is moving back into that “shining city on a hill.”

Isn´t this plan counterproductive to the Obama/ValJar/Podesta/Soros plan to destroy the economy and therefore the country?

I suspect Obama didn´t know what he was doing in this case. And time after time, fed chairmen don´t act as they´re expected to.

#1 & #2, Yellen was NOT obama´s choice. His dope-smoking buddy Larry Summers was, but Capitol Hill Republicans made is completely clear to Barry that Summers would NEVER be confirmed as FED Chair.

Although it is very popular to bash House and Senate Republicans, they do draw the line on some of the Dem insanity.

FTA: If inflation moves up, the Yellen Fed will raise short term interest rates and slow the economy

SLOW the economy? For 2013, economic growth was only 1.9%, a level far below Obama´s initial 4.0% forecast for 2013. Obama´s GDP trend line is downward, not upward despite the Fed´s buying nearly $1 trillion in Treasury bonds last year.

Yellen is a Democrat first and foremost, and she does not believe Obama´s tax and regulatory policies are retarding economic growth. She will continue spending $65 billion per month buying Treasury debt and holding short term rates at zero in 2014 because she is wearing political blinders.

Read the comments following the article for some opposing views that seem quite cogent, especially the ones questioning the validity, i.e. truth, of the numbers the Fed is using to determine it´s actions.

"Taylor Rule" is that if inflation goes up x percent the fed raises interest rates x percent - or more if it´s judged that deficit spending is the cause.

Of course that assume an honest reporting on inflation.

And she promises we´re going to get down to 5.4 percent unemployment? LOL. Only if another five million Americans "stop looking for work". Liars.

In April, President Obama told the nation that “marketplace” or “exchange” enrollment, at 8 million customers as of March 31, had exceeded expectations and costs were lower than expected. Many in the news media accepted the selectively released statistics, despite the Obama administration’s record of sometimes providing inaccurate or incomplete information on HealthCare.gov. Even today, the government continues to withhold relevant public information on costs and enrollment requested by Congress and the press under the Freedom of Information Act. In fact, the measure of the Affordable Care Act’s success rests neither with individual anecdotes nor in the Obama administration’s self-assessments.

Perhaps no issue better illustrates the current divide between everyday citizens and our political and business elites than the issue of immigration. The latter group draws the financial gains from a generous labor supply without considering the perspective of those on the other side of the ledger: the working people who have to worry about being laid off and replaced with lower-wage workers, about the strain placed on their local hospitals and neighborhood resources, or about cartel violence spilling across the border into their own communities.

Not much is certain in life, but here are two things you can take to the bank. If you want a child to learn to read, phonics is the way that works. Second, you can be sure that our Education Establishment will try to keep phonics at a minimum and force children to memorize the English language one sight-word at a time. Where reading is concerned, the nonsense never stops. In his famous 1955 book Why Johnny Can’t Read, Rudolf Flesch said he looked at all the research. Were Lois Lerner’s allegedly lost emails actually destroyed? An Ohio-based trade association, the International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers (IAITAM), isn’t so sure, and they don’t find IRS commissioner Koskinen’s explanation of their loss very plausible. IAITAM administers internationally accepted certifications for information technology professionals. According to the group’s standards, if Lerner’s supposedly malfunctioning hardware was properly destroyed, there would be records of it. It’s one thing to oppose your base in a primary. It’s entirely another to despicably play the race card against your base, and bolster the legitimacy of the propaganda of our race-baiting opponents on the Left.
