The cash infusion by the federal government is actually going to help the city pay pensions, even though they´re playing a kind of shell game with the money. As for "blight removal," perhaps they could start with city hall. Reuters: Michigan officials and President Barack Obama´s Administration are discussing a plan to free up $100 million in federal money to aid Detroit´s retired city workers, the Detroit Free Press reported on Tuesday. Citing two people familiar with the talks, the newspaper said the talks were centered around federal money flowing to Michigan for blight removal. Under the plan, $100 million

Blight removal? They should start with the White House occupants, then move to the Senate, then the House.

I thought all spending bill originated in the House or is the Constitution wrong?
The Attorney General makes hundreds of air flights and spends many millions of tax money. Who authorized that?
How about an explanation from those we elected to control the purse strings? Why are they afraid to do their duty?

Another sickening debacle from a corrupt Administration picking and choosing who to bail-out or subsidize. ( My opinion ).

The record flood of Central American children crossing the U.S. border is stretching funds and setting off improvisation at public schools. While politicians spend the summer fighting over how to turn back the tide, school leaders across the country are struggling to absorb a new student population the size of Newark, New Jersey. More than 40,000 children, many of them fresh from violent, harrowing journeys, have been released since October to stateside relatives as courts process their cases.
