Dog Gets Summoned for
Jury Duty In New Jersey

Time Magazine, by Samantha Grossman

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 4/16/2014 1:26:01 PM

It’s always a hassle getting called for jury duty. This is something all of us can agree on. Now, there’s a dog out there who can also agree on this, because she too got called in to fulfill her civic duty. Yes, really. Last week, New Jersey’s Cumberland County sent a jury summons to resident IV Griner. But IV Griner is not a person. She’s a German Shepherd. Her owner, Barrett Griner, tells CBS Philly that he figured out the mishap quickly, but it was still pretty funny. His full name is Barrett Griner IV, so a computer likely mistook the roman numerals for his first name before the summons was mailed out.

Comments:
It stands to reason that if the NJ DMV gets potential jurors from vets records, so must their dRATS party voting lists. GOP just have to get more creative. s/o. You really believe their big expensive computer system has a "glitch" like this, unless it is built in?

I thought jury pool comes from the registered voter roll. Betcha IV Griner is a solid obama voter.

That´s a riot. So funny. Not.

Dogs probably go to the voter booth, also, since no proof is required, as per the Democratic party. Just cannot exert undue influence on them, like with humans, because dog treats are not allowed in the booths.

Washington - The Supreme Court has rejected a challenge to California’s law that bars mental counseling aimed at turning gay minors straight. The justices on Monday let stand an appeals court ruling that said the state’s ban on so-called conversion therapy for minors doesn’t violate the free speech rights of licensed counselors and patients seeking treatment. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled last year that California lawmakers properly showed that efforts to change sexual orientation were outside the scientific mainstream and have been rejected for good reason. Liberty Counsel, a Christian legal aid group, had challenged the law along with

Sanford, FL - A judge on Monday ruled against George Zimmerman in a defamation lawsuit he filed against NBC Universal over edited 911 calls made after Trayvon Martin was shot and killed in 2012. In the ruling, Judge Debra S. Nelson said, "There are no genuine issues of material fact upon which a reasonable jury could find that the Defendants acted with actual malice." In a hearing earlier this month, Zimmerman´s attorney said NBC manipulated the call to make it seem like Zimmerman was chasing Trayvon Martin because of the color of Martin´s skin. Zimmerman: "This guy looks like he's up to no good or he's on drugs or something.

It would be the second time around on the show for the controversial comedian, who left in 2007 after just one season. “The network executives really wanted Rosie back,” the insider said. “They’re confident she has what it takes to add some controversy and drive the ratings up. It is a smart fit.” After O’Donnell’s first time in the hot seat, ABC said in a statement that it was unable to agree on a contract to bring her back for a second season. House Speaker John A. Boehner’s call to sue President Obama for overstepping the bounds of executive authority marks a stunning break for Republicans, who for years have tried to keep the courts out of the big questions of the day. Just a decade after House Republicans tried to strip the courts of their ability to hear key cases on such matters as the Pledge of Allegiance, the GOP is now pleading with federal judges to get more involved — chiefly to rein in Mr. Obama. “The courts have absented themselves from major disputes about the meaning of Article I and Article II of the Constitution, this dispute with regard to the power of the

Six immigration activists were arrested for protesting outside of Rep. Ed Royce´s (R-Calif.) district office late Friday after they stopped traffic in the middle of a busy street near Los Angeles, according to reports. The protest, organized by the Service Employees International Union, was one of dozens held around the country Friday to mark the one-year anniversary of the Senate passing a sweeping immigration bill, which would pave the way for 11 million illegal immigrants to stay in the country. But House Republicans have refused to take up similar legislation, angering many immigration activists. In Washington, immigration activists

In 1974, as America was losing Vietnam and descending into economic chaos, Richard Milhous Nixon did one great thing — he resigned rather than subject the nation to the living nightmare of the impeachment pending in the House of Representatives, followed by a trial in the Senate. For Iran, Benghazi and the ongoing, raging conflicts that Team Obama peremptorily sparked across the Middle East; for the targeting of political opponents using federal government resources; and for enriching undeserving cronies using taxpayer dollars, President Barack Hussein Obama and his enablers should go quietly into the night and soon.

For example, NASA reported a 32% decrease in New York City and a 42% decrease in Atlanta between the periods of 2005-2007 and 2009-2011. And the pipeline would bring oil from Canada and North Dakota to refineries in the United States. The proposed project would have extended from Alberta, Canada to Illinois, transporting approximately 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Estimated cost is $1.7 billion. But Obama rejected the plan in 2011 and 2014. Democrats are beholden to the radical green movement – the poor and middle class be damned. Now this… Canada pulled the plug on Keystone and will

On January 29, 2014, the Department of Homeland Security advertised for a vendor to escort 65,000 “unaccompanied alien children,” indicating that they not only knew the alien invasion was coming, they planned it.

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses

The waves of rockets from Gaza and IDF retaliations have picked up since the teens were kidnapped and the Israeli crackdown began. Hamas has not claimed responsibility for launching the rockets but Israel holds them responsible for everything coming out of Gaza. The Israel Defense
