Obama taps gay bishop to wrap Easter
Prayer Breakfast with invocation

Washington Times, by Cheryl K. Chumley

Original Article

Posted By:jackson, 4/15/2014 9:25:28 AM

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

Comments:
Does the Bishop sound like a mature man of faith? Or a fatuous school girl? Silly times at the White House while Putin, the radical Muslims, immorality, and insolvency roll inexorably on.

Of course Obama picked this man who left his wife and children to frolic with his friend in the land of sodomy. I hope our next President is an actual Mohammedan - it is painful to see Christ mocked by these evil men.

If this was an inter faith service with Muslims in attendance, we can be certain that Hussein Obama would not have pulled this stunt. Since it was an event marking the Christianity´s holiest day, Obama enjoyed selecting the most outrageous person in order to mock his audience and belittle the faith. The openly gay Rev Robinson is also a senior member of the far left Center for (un)American Progress, so Obama got to bash conservatives as well as Christians with his selection.

Actually, #15, as a conservative, saved-by-grace-only believer, I´m thankful that we are "losing the culture war". That God has turned this culture over to its degrading passions just demonstrates His power and faithfulness to His Word (see Romans 1:18-32).

"Winning the culture war" is equivalent to taking over the first class dining room on the Titanic on this day in 1912.

There is no Easter religious service in Gods´ Holy Bible.

Easter is mans creation by pagans as a fertility love fest in the spring to create many needed babies in the winter.

Christians should be celebrating Passover on the 15th day after the spring solstice.

Anyway, that´s why you always see butterflies on Easter cards - new life.

This was no doubt an intentional slap at Christians and conservative by our esteemed leader. BTW, I think it is entirely appropriate for Christians to celebrate the resurrection of Christ and call it Easter. Whatever Easter used to mean, it now means the celebration of the resurrection. The timing is appropriate, too, since the historical events took place around the time of Passover. If Christians want to celebrate Passover they can, but it is not a Christian holiday.

Less than 3 percent of the U.S. population identify themselves as gay, lesbian or bisexual, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Tuesday in the first large-scale government survey measuring Americans’ sexual orientation. The National Health Interview Survey, which is the government’s premier tool for annually assessing Americans’ health and behaviors, found that 1.6 percent of adults self-identify as gay or lesbian, and 0.7 percent consider themselves bisexual. The overwhelming majority of adults, 96.6 percent, labeled themselves as straight in the 2013 survey. An additional 1.1 percent declined to answer, responded “I don’t know the answer” or said they

News is surprise. The news out of Hillary Clinton´s book tour is that it hasn´t gone well. It was supposed to establish her iconic position in American political life while solidifying her inevitability. Instead it exposed vulnerabilities. The media was neither at her feet nor at her throat but largely distanced, which was interesting. Her claim that the Clintons were "dead broke" when they left the White House inspired widespread derision. Her exchanges on Benghazi didn´t bury the issue but kept it alive. The scripted answers were tiring. The old trick of answering the question you wish you´d been asked instead

Clinton, who joined NBC News as a “special correspondent” in November 2011, was up for renewal or non-renewal this year. The Veterans Administration scandal involves charges of manipulation and falsification of medical waiting lists and systemwide rigging to hide delayed or inadequate treatment, which may have caused the deaths of some of those waiting for care. There are whistle-blowers, allegations of local coverups, and the possibility of criminal charges. A Swiss organisation that helps people take their own lives has voted to extend its services to elderly people who are not terminally ill. Exit added "suicide due to old age" to their statutes at an annual general meeting held over the weekend, allowing people suffering from psychological or physical problems associated with old age the choice to end their life. Assisted dying is legal in Switzerland and technically even a healthy young person could use such services. However, organisations involved in this work set their own internal requirements, which differ from group to group.

In “The Case for Reparations,” the long-brewing cover story of the June issue of the Atlantic, Ta-Nehisi Coates makes a painstaking argument that the gap in wealth, achievement, and a wide range of health and wellbeing outcomes between black and white Americans is the result of deliberate policy decisions. Those decisions, he says, lead to an inevitable conclusion: “An America that asks what it owes its most vulnerable citizens is improved and humane. An America that looks away is ignoring not just the sins of the past but the sins of the present and the certain sins of the future,”
