Kerry: Big Bucks in Climate Change
Weekly Standard, by Geoffrey Norman

Original Article

What we usually hear about when the subject is climate change is stuff meant to scare you out of your socks. Rising oceans, violent storms, draughts, famines, plagues of locusts … and so forth. The implied alternative is austerity so severe – no cars, rationed electricity, smaller houses, once-a-week cold showers, etc. – that people are inclined to think, “Well, that will never happen,” and tune out. Secretary of State John Kerry is a believer and a scold of those who are called “deniers” to smear them as akin to those who believe the Holocaust never happened. Mr. Kerry is,

Norman states: "One trembles to contemplate the size of his personal carbon footprint..." Finally someone points out the utter hypocrisy of that moron Kerry.

The ONLY way these "green energy" projects will be used is when FORCED BY LAW. They are ALL more expensive and less convenient and less useful than conventional sources.

If they were economical, they would and will be used. As it is, they must be FORCED on us, and the government is choosing who makes a fortune from our misery and loss of money and freedom.

In most cases, tax money goes either to subsidize a losing product (electric cars) or to directly pay a company from the US Treasury. Of course, most of those receiving huge payments are Obama political donors. Just a coincidence that many go out of business after spending all the government money - much on huge salaries for the leaders. Then there are the laws that require electrical utilities to buy wind and solar power at exorbitant rates, whether it makes any sense at all - like being forced into buying lots of very expensive wind power at night when there is very little demand for power.

Note the connection between the Nevada land grab by the BLM and Harry Reid making money from a Chinese solar farm on BLM land, after the ranchers are forced off. Remember, OUR electric utilities will be forced to buy this extremely expensive solar electricity - with the profits going to China - and to Reid and son.

MMGW is the biggest scam ever run, and we are being screwed daily by it.

Medicare Ban on Sex
Reassignment Surgery Lifted

Medicare can no longer automatically deny coverage requests for sex reassignment surgeries, a federal board ruled Friday in a groundbreaking decision that recognizes the procedures are medically necessary for some people who don´t identify with their biological sex. Ruling in favor of a 74-year-old transgender Army veteran whose request to have Medicare pay for her genital reconstruction was denied two years ago, a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services review board said there was no justification for a three-decade-old agency rule excluding such surgeries from treatments covered by the national health program for the

President Obama on Saturday tried to bolster public support for new rules his administration will announce next week on coal-firing power plants, arguing their carbon emissions are a national health crisis – beyond hurting the economy and causing global warming. “We don’t have to choose between the health of our economy and the health of our children,” Obama said in his weekly address. “As president and as a parent, I refuse to condemn our children to a planet that’s beyond fixing.” The cost of carbon pollution “can be measured in lost lives” and roughly “100,000 asthma attacks and 2,100 heart

Sudan appeared to be bowing to international pressure on Saturday night to free a woman sentenced to death for apostasy. A foreign ministry spokesman said that Meriam Ibrahim would be released and not face further charges. But lawyers for 27-year-old Ms Ibrahim expressed scepticism that she would be freed so quickly. “It’s a statement to silence the international media,” said Elshareef Ali Mohammed. “This is what the government does. We will not believe that she is being freed until she walks out of the prison." He said he had even heard reports that the spokesman was in the UK on

As the years of Bowe Bergdahl’s captivity wore on, two fundamental sentiments floated around Capitol Hill: the desire to bring the Army sergeant home without capitulating to the Taliban, and the frustration that the capture of one soldier revealed a lack of cohesive strategy to recover prisoners of war. The only American POW in Afghanistan, Bergdahl wandered off his base in eastern Afghanistan in June 2009 and was captured by Taliban forces. A proof-of-life video, the first received in three years, surfaced in January, reigniting attention on Bergdahl’s case. “To every single person who worked so hard to make this recovery possible,

President Obama has been accused of violating U.S. laws by approving a prisoner exchange of five Guantanamo detainees for the release of America´s only prisoner of war, Republicans claim. John McCain welcomed the release of soldier Bowe Bergdahl, who was held for five years by Islamic Islamists, but said the men being freed had ´the blood of Americans on their hands´. The five Afghans are among the most senior members of the Taliban being held at the controversial camp, and include one who had direct ties to Osama bin Laden. Foreign Policy: Lack of substance is finally catching up to President Obama´s hype. The best his defenders can come up with is that he doesn´t get credit for his non-accomplishments in world affairs. Secretary of State John Kerry doesn´t think the president "takes enough credit for the successes that are on the table right now." Kerry argues that the situation in Ukraine, where a guerrilla war is widening and a newly aggressive Russia is poised to invade, is a U.S. success; so is Syria, where the U.S. was humiliated for saying one thing on chemical weapons, doing the opposite, then allowing Moscow

Despite Sen. Harry Reid’s near-daily speeches about the “un-American” Koch brothers and the vast amount of money they give to the Republican Party – all while the Democrats take billions from other interest groups – Americans are still not convinced that campaign donations are the number one problem in politics right now. That designation goes to media bias, according to 48% of the 1,000 likely voters polled for a Rasmussen Report. Big campaign contributions earned the #2 spot, with 44% of those polled. Among people who identify as Tea Party members, media bias is an even bigger problem – 77% say it’s

A day after the U.S. Marine jailed in Mexico fired his attorney amid growing ethical concerns, the State Department is facing questions over why it had included the lawyer on an official list of legal contacts for Americans in a jam. Marine veteran Andrew Tahmooressi apparently reached out to the lawyer, Alejandro Osuna, after seeing his name on an online list of attorneys posted by the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana. But according to Tahmooressi´s mother and those working with him, the lawyer soon afterward urged him to lie to Mexican officials about his circumstances -- which made the Marine uncomfortable

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the last known American POW, was freed after five years in captivity — an ordeal that began and ended in Afghanistan under a shroud of mystery. The Taliban turned over Bergdahl Saturday morning to US special forces in exchange for five notorious Islamic militants who had been held at Guantanamo Bay and will be sent to Qatar, where they will stay for a year under the terms of the trade. At least one of the prisoners, ranking Taliban leader Khairullah Khairkhwa, had direct ties to Osama bin Laden. Bergdahl was picked up by helicopter in western Afghanistan, near the Pakistan border.

Having to announce within a four-hour span that he had lost both an embattled Cabinet secretary and his chief spokesman, Obama looked Friday like a man gamely trying to get a stalled administration back on track. He entered the week still stuck with low approval ratings and facing fierce criticism of his policies both at home and abroad. Is the end near? Scientists at Duke University say the world is on the brink of its sixth great extinction, since certain species of plants and animals are now dying out at least 1,000 times faster than they did before humans came into existence. The study, published Thursday in the journal Science, measured the the rate at which species are disappearing from Earth. In 1995, the researchers found that the pre-human rate of extinctions was roughly 1. Now, that rate is about 100 to 1,000. Stuart Pimm, the study's lead author, said habitat loss is mostly to blame for the increasing death rates. As humans continue to alter and destroy more land,

When one thinks of mass murder, Hitler comes to mind. If not Hitler, then Tojo, Stalin, or Mao. Credit is given to the 20th-century totalitarians as the worst species of tyranny to have ever arisen. However, the alarming truth is that Islam has killed more than any of these, and may surpass all of them combined in numbers and cruelty. The enormity of the slaughters of the "religion of peace" are so far beyond comprehension that even honest historians overlook the scale.
