Hillary Clinton is Obama´s
George H.W. Bush:
The designated successor

Washington Examiner, by Hugh Hewitt

There are very few genuinely new moments in American politics. Ronald Reagan´s election in 1980 was one of them. President Obama´s triumph in 2008 another. Both were transformative elections, presidencies and men. And both led to parties that struggled for a voice after their defining leader left the scene. George H.W. Bush was a safe and reliable choice for the GOP in 1988: a longtime Washington hand with a golden resume and a seemingly endless and loyal list of supporters and donors. Lots of folks didn´t like him, of course, inside his own party, inside the Democrats, inside the media and outside

Sounds like H.H. is saying "No Jeb Bush!!!", without really saying it.
I would agree.

Right!

And we know how that (G.W.H. Bush) turned out, don´t we?

It left a direct trail leading to 16 years of Clinton and Obama.

Newark, NJ - Already embroiled in a criminal probe over lane closures at the George Washington Bridge, Gov. Chris Christie´s administration is facing an investigation over a second bridge. The Manhattan district attorney´s office and the Securities and Exchange Commission are investigating whether $1.8 billion in funding to repair the Pulaski Skyway and related projects was misrepresented in bond documents by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a person familiar with the investigation but not authorized to discuss it publicly told The Associated Press. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The next presidential election is still two years away, but with some major midterm elections set for this coming Election Day, Rock the Vote is making a grand return to encourage young voters to get active in the political process. Beginning with the 1992 presidential election, the nonpartisan group – using pop music as their hook – was instrumental in inspiring politically uninvolved baby boomers and Gen-Xers to get off the couch and make their voices heard via the ballot box. With the U.S. now experiencing a demographic shift, the new-look Rock the Vote will refocus their efforts on millienials, of

Gallup Poll of Trust Shows

Gallup on June 19 published a poll that dealt with American confidence in institutions, alleging that public faith in Congress reached the lowest point since the question had been polled. Was that the real story? An analysis of the polling results of American confidence in different institutions, and a review of those results over time suggests something much more significant: Americans overwhelmingly express confidence in those institutions historically connected with conservatism and overwhelmingly express little faith in those institutions historically connected with leftism.

The education establishment´s success

Many view America´s education as a failure, but in at least one important way, it´s been a success — a success in dumbing down the nation so that we fall easy prey to charlatans, hustlers and quacks. You say, "Williams, that´s insulting! Explain yourself." OK, let´s start with a question or two. Are you for or against global warming, later renamed climate change and more recently renamed climate disruption? Environmentalists have renamed it because they don´t want to look silly in the face of cooling temperatures. About 650 million years ago, the Earth was frozen from pole to pole, a period

They may be in the majority, but many House Republicans feel irrelevant. That’s the problem both candidates for House majority leader promised to fix when they delivered their pitches to the rank and file at a closed door meeting. “I want every member to feel relevant again,” Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, pledged when he addressed a crowd of about 50 lawmakers. “I want you to feel like you did the first day you came to Congress. Do you remember that day? That was an amazing day filled with endless possibilities.” First elected in 2010, Labrador is the underdog candidate against House Majority Whip

Once again, President Obama has cheered supporters by bypassing Congress. Gay and lesbian rights groups are celebrating news that Obama plans to sign an executive order barring federal contractors from hiring or firing employees based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. Obama´s move, which the White House confirmed Monday, will undoubtedly energize Democrats liberal base four and a half months before a critical midterm election. But Democrats who wanted a far broader anti-discrimination measure and are having to settle for a more limited step. It´s a familiar pattern in Washington as Obama tries to circumvent gridlock on Capitol Hill by taking half

By releasing five Taliban commanders from Guantanamo Bay prison in exchange for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, President Obama has launched a furor on the right. The Bergdahl news comes along with a number of other developments - such as Obama´s doomed diplomacy with Iran, an anti-war speech at West Point, and Russian President Vladimir Putin´s aggression in Ukraine - that have awakened national security conservatives. This is bad news for Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and his presidential ambitions.

Morgan Geyser, 12, drew the sinister stickman, inspired by an online ghost story about a ghoulish child killer called Slender Man, on a napkin and left it in the family home while she was out with her parents were out for dinner. Jeb Bush is one of the country´s most visible advocates of Common Core, forcefully defending the K-12 standards even as it puts him at odds with a conservative base he would need to mount a viable campaign for president. But his problem is deeper than policy. Bush´s Foundation for Excellence in Education has collected millions of dollars from pro-Common Core organizations — from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the for-profit education giant Pearson — giving critics something to sink into and drawing attention to the venture that has allowed the former Republican governor to expand his profile beyond Florida. You have to hand it to President Obama: He sure does do a good job of socking it to the folks he claims to be helping. Tuesday marked the end of the comment period on the Education Department´s proposed new “gainful employment” regulations. While the administration says it wants to expand educational opportunities, the proposed rules would target community colleges and for-profit colleges -- institutions that educate disproportionately poor, minority, and working-class Americans. But even as the administration imposes new burdens on schools educating non-traditional students, the Education Department would exempt all four-year colleges from the new rules. It creates a very

I have written a great deal about the solid conservative majority in America. Most conservatives seem to think that Americans describe themselves as “conservative” when in fact they are not – but polling data on the public policy question of abortion shows that this is not true. In fact, this data strongly suggests what I have long suspected: many Americans decline to call themselves “conservative” when in fact they are conservative. When we grasp the madness and wickedness of leftism, this makes sense. No sane or moral person could ascribe to that that toxic misology.

We love Texas–her independence, her strength, and the way of life possible in the Lone Star State, but the political ruling class that US Senator Ted Cruz fights in Washington, D.C. is alive and well in Austin. Political establishment elites in both parties, united with “Big Business” interests, threaten the independence and strength of Texas. The bottom line–Texas state government spends too much, borrows too much and depends far too much on the federal government to balance the state budget. The 2012 and 2014 Republican Primary results clearly demonstrate that once conservative Texas voters understand these facts, they act at

The former sexting pol has been noticeably absent at recent public events attended by Abedin, including the Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner in Manhattan earlier this month. President Obama is now reaching terminal velocity, like a skydiver plunging toward earth. Except he doesn’t have a parachute. There’s a mighty splat coming soon. With his approval rating at 40 percent, down 6 points from early June, and just 29 percent of Americans convinced the country is on the “right track,” the president is doubling down on his strategy of blaming Republicans for his failures. And he’s shifting into hyperpartisan drive, traveling the country to campaign for Democrats, many of whom wish he’d just stay away. Worse, the news just keeps getting well, worse: The Veterans Affairs scandal is blazing, with

Lois Lerner, the controversial director of the tax-exempt organizations division at the Internal Revenue Service, has a long sordid history of targeting conservatives. Under the direction of Lois Lerner, the Federal Election Commission sued the Christian Coalition in the 1990s. She harassed the Christian Coalition for three election cycles. Eventually, she lost her case. At one point Lerner even asked a targeted conservative if Pat Robertson prayed over him. (Sound familiar?) In 1996, while at the FEC, Lois Lerner harassed Republican Senate candidate Al Salvi and made him this outrageous offer, “Promise me you will never run for office again, and

Ordinarily, President Obama’s days are planned out to the smallest detail. But for his two-day excursion to Minnesota this week, the president boasted that he’s got little in the way of a formal agenda, has few firm plans, and warned Secret Service that he’s feeling “super loose” and could end up doing any number of things. “I don’t know. I’m just going to make it up as I go along,” Mr. Obama said during a town-hall meeting at Minneapolis’ Minnehaha Park, one of the few planned activities during his two-day stay in the Twin Cities. “I’m like a caged bear,

Republicans are in the strongest position to win back the Senate since losing it eight years ago. Over several months, the party has expanded its range of targeted seats, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has helped defeat insurgents it didn’t want representing the GOP in the midterm elections. This sober realization came to Democrats on Wednesday, as Tuesday night’s primary results showed they cannot count on Tea Party candidates upsetting more-electable incumbents. And Democrats are increasingly realizing that President Obama’s approval rating will probably remain mired at 45 percent or lower until

A shocking new report from the Center for Immigration Studies claims to prove that every single new job created in America for the last fourteen years has gone to immigrants, legal and illegal. This would fly in the face of those who claim that immigration is an economic boon to native born Americans: The CIS report found that over the last 14 years, people who were born in the United States held 114.8 million jobs in 2000, and held 114.7 million jobs in 2014, a drop of 127,000. But it’s an entirely different picture for immigrants — 5.7 million more

What was humorous in that remarks is known only to Clinton. “I shouldn’t have said the, I think, five or so words that I said,” the former secretary of state said. “My inartful use of those five words doesn’t change who I am.” Later in the interview, Ifill asked if Clinton had become the Democratic adaptation of
