HHS nominee Burwell faces tight scrutiny
Washington Times, by Tom Howell Jr.

Original Article

Lawmakers dug in Sunday for a proxy war over the new health care law, now that President Obama has selected a well-known manager to replace Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and lead his signature program into a new era. Mr. Obama says his budget chief, Sylvia Mathews Burwell, is a “proven manager” who will lead HHS with distinction and build on whatever momentum the White House gained by signing up 7.5 million Americans in private health coverage from October to March. But Sen. Tim Scott, South Carolina Republican and member of the Senate Finance Committee that will vet

Comments:
First, 0bama is lying about the NOW 7.5M people who have signed on. With all the glitches, where are the true figures and why aren´t they released by this "most transparent" 0bamaNation? The only possible way that Burwell can get confirmed after being 0bama´s longtime lapdog and sycophant is if the "fix´ is in with the current GOP who care about the Washington deal more than their state´s needs.

The website still isn´t fixed. 6 months after its start, the back end of the program hasn´t been finished. So we won´t know until this time next year how many actually qualified for their subsidies. And of course the legality of issuing subsidies is still before the courts because the law restricted the penalties and subsidies to state established exchanges.

"Proven Manager" = Political hack with an ivy league degree in socialist politics who has never managed anything in the real world, but who will do and say anything to keep the progressive kooks in power.

Experience in healthcare management? No
Experience in private business? No
Experience in medical care? No
Experience in being responsible for the economic results of your decisions? No
Specialist in boondoggles and graft? Yes

Given the overreaching, and unconstitutional, powers bestowed on the head of HHS by this horrible legislation; the nominee should be endlessly scrutinized.

The hearings for a new HHS manager could not come at a worse time for the dems. The inquisition will take place just before the elections and leave voters incensed with fresh memories about Obama Care as they head to the polls. There is a God after all.

Texas Gov. The Obamas have spent over 44 million dollars in taxpayer money on travel and vacations. Some are even calling him the “most well-trvaeled, expensive” president in our nation’s history. Our president vacations a lot — we’re talking $44,351,777.12 worth of “a lot,” with most expenses charged to the American taxpayer. As of March 2014, Obama has spent more time traveling internationally than any other president, taking 31 trips since assuming office in 2009. The 119 days spent overseas have

President Obama has quietly promised Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren complete support if she runs for president — a stinging rebuke to his nemesis Hillary Clinton, sources tell me. Publicly, Obama has remained noncommittal on the 2016 race, but privately he worries that Clinton would undo and undermine many of his policies. There’s also a personal animosity, especially with Bill Clinton, that dates from their tough race six years ago. A former Harvard law professor and administration aide, Warren would energize the left wing of the Democrat Party just as Obama did against Clinton in 2008.
