Nevada ranch standoff could leave
dirt on Harry Reid’s reputation

Washington Times, by Valerie Richardson

Original Article

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said little as federal agents seized and then released cattle last week from the Bundy ranch, but there is little doubt that the highly charged episode was threatening to become a political headache for the Nevada Democrat. The Bureau of Land Management is headed by former longtime Reid aide Neil Kornze, who was confirmed by the Senate as BLM director on Tuesday, just as federal authorities descended on the cattle ranch outside Mesquite, Nev. Mr. Kornze issued a statement Saturday saying that the bureau would return the cattle and withdraw its agents from the ranch

It looks like those millions and millions of dollars owed to the BLM were the figment of someone´s very active imagination...and can be attributed to Harry Reid´s need for the land the Bundy´s have used for their cattle for 130 years. Throw in the Chinese and a wind/solar scam and you have a real scandal having little or nothing to do with any legitimate debts owed by the rancher and his family.

Sometimes it pays to just read quietly for several days before one starts quoting water and land law to the world.

#7, your post got me to thinking. In Hitler´s Germany, it took seemingly ordinary people to turn on their fellow citizens or to look the other way to permit the mass murder of millions. I am astounded at the ease in which the BLM pulled guns, used tasers, and threatened the unarmed Bundys and their supporters. Never will forget after the Boston Marathon Bombers the videos of the shelter in place with armed camoflauged police searching houses. Goes to show how quickly government can turn against its own citizens. There also always seems to be willing people to run roughshod over their neighbors. Scary.

Both Harry Reid and his son Rory are heavily involved in a solar energy project worth 5 billion in Nev. To erect the solar panel array, they will need to undertake remediation for the tortoise population by finding somewhere for the tortoises to make their new home. Ding, ding, ding, if they move the cattle off the land, they make a new home for the tortoises.

Pretty funny how these cattle were wrangled a week after Obama declared war on cow flatulence.

But anyway,God bless the ranchers for their stand against Adolf Reid.

Obama and his takeover henchmen are going to have a hard time convincing white agents to fire on other whites. And of course the ghost of Waco hangsover all of this. Both Clintons and Reno should have faced a court over this. How do you burn kids up in a compound and walk away unscathed?

#11, Mr. Bundy has said he stopped making his payments to the BLM because he no longer recognizes the federal government in any capacity, but only state and county. So, he tried to make a few payments to Clark County, but was refused because the County had no authority to accept payments for federal leases. So, 20 years ago, Mr. Bundy stopped paying anyone. I don´t think that is an option for him or the many other ranchers in the West and Northwest who are maintaining their leases and paying the fees. Mr. Bundy has successfully made such a public fuss that the government had to retreat to avoid a gunfight. But, I´m pretty sure Mr. Bundy will have to pay the 20 years of delinquency sooner or later. He´s no victim.

Here´s an excellent analogy from a commenter on a recent news article:

Let´s break this down in terms most can understand:

You live in a house in a neighborhood and have 3 cars for your family, two parked in the driveway, another in the street (public land). One day, without your direct input, consent, or any representation, a Home Owners Association (HOA) is established for your neighborhood and you are now required to pay HOA dues. You dutifully pay them because you are happy that they are mowing the lawns in the common areas.

Several years pass and the HOA starts writing bylaws without your input, consent or any representation. They also stop mowing the common areas as much as they used to. One of the bylaws decides to place a fine on all cars parked on the street and limits the number of cars parked at a house to 2. Your family can´t afford to give up a car and because you had no input in the whole process, you decline to pay the fine. Because you feel that the HOA is not doing it´s job (mowing the common areas) you take it a step further and stop paying your dues to the HOA (however, you still pay your property taxes). Your 3rd car has always been parked in the street and has never been complained about before the HOA arrived.

After several confrontations, the HOA decides to tow and impound your family´s car. What would be your recourse in the matter? Would you be considered the right wing nutjob equivalent of a welfare queen for parking the car on the publicly owned road as you had been since that house was built?

After making fighting income inequality an early focus of his second term, President Obama has largely abandoned talk of the subject this election year in a move that highlights the emerging debate within the Democratic Party over economic populism and its limits. During the first half of this year, Obama shifted from income inequality to the more politically palatable theme of lifting the middle class, focusing on issues such as the minimum wage and the gender pay gap that are thought to resonate with a broader group of voters. The pivot is striking for a president who identified inequality as

The headline of today’s jobs report, that 288,000 jobs were created in the last month, is positive. At least, it is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. However, as with most economic reports these days, there is a veneer of good news — but when you look closer, the White House is using the positive headlines to hide the growing deterioration of the American workforce.
