Why The Feds Chickened Out
On A Nevada Ranch

Townhall, by Kevin McCullough

Original Article

Let me obliterate a bit of confusion here: the Obama administration attempted to go to war with a rancher in Nevada. Let me amplify a little bit of truth: They tucked tail and have returned home. And let me add a bit of clarity: they had no choice! As the nation began to become familiar with the plight of the family of Cliven Bundy, many of us harkened back to another standoff in which the Federal government attempted to bully it´s outcome: Waco, Texas and the Branch Davidian massacre. It is telling that in the Nevada case the feds pulled out so

two points..
#1, now we know why the government was buying up so many millions of rounds of ammo.

#2. Make sure people know what that disgusting Harry Reid´s part was in all of this. In bed with the Chinese for a wind farm and his son was the broker. Spread the word.

If there was ever an argument for a Convention of States to Propose Amendments to the Constitution, this is it! Allowing the federal government to confiscate private property from state-owned land is a constitutional travesty. The Commerce Clause and the General Welfare Clause must be amended, and Congress will not do it. Article V of the Constitution gives the same authority to the states as it does to Congress, no more, no less. What are we waiting for... blood in the desert? There is a Solution as big as the Problem - An Article V Convention of States!

I am both troubled and encouraged. Encouraged because in the short run the resistance worked and won. Troubled because they´ll try it again and will try to keep an information blackout. Troubled because the government´s lack of a backbone here is also how it behaves on foreign policy. Troubled because successful resistance required the threat of violence by citizens against the government. Encouraged because it was justified, it worked, and it showed that the Second Amendment is not out of date but still critical. Troubled because this may be the only way to deal with our government right now. Overall, still encouraged because resistance, when executed properly, is not only not futile but essential and rewarding.

It is no coincidence that all these events (the Ruby Ridge and Waco massacres, the Elian Gonzales incident and the Bundy Ranch attempted takeover) all happened during Democrat regimes. Whatever their shortcomings, the Republicans don´t have the same lust for totalitarian power.

#10 is correct, and the fact needs to be repeated over and over how the Democrats are trying to do X and Y.

Not "the government" or "congress"

It´s Democrats, and usually liberal Democrats.

Harry Reid and his son need to be held accountable.
They wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on this scheme.

#10:

George H.W. Bush was President during Ruby Ridge.

But unlike Clinton and that Commie POS in the WH today, Mr Bush was totally BS at what happened on Ruby Ridge and told the FBI, and others, that it would never happen again under his watch.

PS: Kudos to #6 and, I propose that a ´Militia Without Borders´ organization be formed and its members all be call ´WOLVERINES´!

PPS: And #4 is entirely correct. A show of force by armed citizens is one thing but a show of force via an Article 5 Convention would show DC who is really the boss.

I am very happy to see a specific group of people DID get out from behind their computers and stood toe to toe with the Bundy Family. We need a lot more of this if we are to maintain our Constitutional Republic.

Contrary to the ignorant, the Constitution DOES spell out the formation of Militias, and giving the Governors the power to appoint the Officers.

We need to be setting up our Militias. It is LEGAL and within the Constitution. The authority to dispose of an illegal government is in our Declaration of Independence.

When are we going to have the ethics and integrity to do it? Or are there too many weasel excuses?

We are in strategic positions around the area and ready to strike against Obama´s henchmen. According to our members, there are as many as 2500 wolverines in the area, and they are ready to engage.
The Feds know they are currently outnumber, and they have backed down...for now. I wouldn´t be surprised if US and NATO troops are amassing in the desert, preparing for a strike.

What Rancher Cliven Bundy owes is more like $300,000 -- and that was only because his county refused to take his monthly dues. He stopped paying BLM when they stopped improving the land, as they had agreed when they first started levying him rent 20 years ago. As long as they were improving, he was paying.

Reid & Son have been exposed for wanting a Chinese Co. to build a Solar Farm on this PUBLIC land. So they are going to have a hard time regrouping to strip his cattle now. But I´m sure they´ll try...

#23. There is a BIG difference between a Constitutional Convention and a Convention of States. 2 different things.
A Convention of States will propose term limits, and taking back States´ Rights.
Congress will have no participation. Washington refuses to fix itself, so it is up to the States to fix it.

The rumors that Rupert Murdoch was interested in purchasing Time Warner gained some shape and form Wednesday morning, as the New York Times reported that sources said Murdoch made an $80 billion offer for the TV-cable-film-magazine conglomerate, only to be rebuffed. Politicians in Germany have devised an ingenious solution to combat the threat of eavesdropping by American spies: playing classical music during their meetings. MPs who sit on the spying committee had become so concerned that US agents might listen in to their discussions that they had ordered classical music to be played, to drown out the discussions. On arrival at the meeting, The Suddetusche Zeitung reported that for "security reasons" MPs had to put their mobile phones and computers into a large metal box to ensure that they were not subjected to outside surveillance. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

While he could have been killed saving "Betty" or saving "Veronica," doing so for Keller was something "that would really resonate

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

President Obama is known for being competitive on the basketball court, but he´s also apparently a cutthroat pool player. Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on Sunday that the president surprised him by beat him in two consecutive games. To add insult to injury, the two were playing at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, a bar that Hickenlooper co-founded. "You know I´ll tell ya -- the man is a shark," Hickenlooper told reporters, Time reports. "I was up a few balls. I felt pretty good. I was actually wondering whether how hard should I --

“So far this year, Republicans in Congress have blocked every serious idea to strengthen the middle class.” –President Obama, weekly address, July 12, 2014 ~This has become a standard line in the president’s oratory, as part of making his case that he’s “acted this year to help working Americans on my own– when Congress won’t act.” The president started on this path on June 27, during a speech in Minnesota: “You know, sometimes I’m forcibly, you know, politic about how I say things, but I’m finding lately that I just want to say what’s on my mind. So, let me
