Iran to Challenge U.S. on
Visa Denial for Envoy Pick

A day after the U.S. said it would not allow Iran’s proposed U.N. envoy Hamid Aboutalebi, a diplomat with links to the 1979 hostage crisis, to enter the country, Iran has dismissed the decision and affirmed it would take the issue directly to the U.N. “We do not have a replacement for Mr. Aboutalebi and we will pursue the matter via legal mechanisms anticipated in the United Nations,” said Abbas Araghchi, a senior Foreign Ministry official, as quoted by Iran’s official IRNA news agency. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Friday the U.S. had informed the U.N. and Iran it would not issue the visa.

Grant the visa, just let it be known if/when he arrives he will be arrested and sent to GITMO, then maybe shot.

Just toss the UN out of the US. It will always be a problem in its host. A few billion $$$ - about our deficit for one weekend and it would be gone forever. It would also free up some of the most valuable real estate in the world.

Many gullible nations would gladly take it thinking it would bring in some foreign exchange earnings and prestige.

In an attempt to fire back at House Speaker John Boehner concerning the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) went on MSNBC Tuesday morning and had an interesting view of the Taliban, disputing that they are terrorists. Earlier, Boehner held a news conference and was critical of the fact that Congress wasn´t fully briefed on the exchange. In blasting the Obama administration, Boehner said "we´re gonna pay" for the prisoner swap, and also said it violated U.S. policy to not negotiate with terrorists.

It was the crying and pleas for help that drew Dr. John Crew to Lori Madsen´s bedside at Seton Medical Center one day in January 2012. Madsen, then 51, was several days into a terrifying case of necrotizing fasciitis - also known as flesh-eating disease. Her left arm had swollen to four times its normal size, and she´d had surgery to scrape out dead tissue. The pain was unbearable. "My arm was dying on the inside. It was extremely horrifying," said Madsen, now 53. "It wasn´t until it was all over, and I was out of the hospital that Dr.

Not only have disgruntled kids across America voiced their displeasure over Michelle Obama’s school lunch program from the beginning, many have used #ThanksMichelle to tweet photos of their daily choices. For example: By contrast, the Obama girls – who attend the prestigious Sidwell Friends School – dine on school lunches designed by chefs. This week, for example, they’ll be able to enjoy meatball subs, BBQ wings and ice cream, in addition to chicken curry, deviled egg salad and the “Chef’s Choice.” Other options on the exclusive menu include:

LOS ANGELES — The bodies of 28 veterans at the L.A. County Morgue were finally moved Friday for burial to the Riverside National Cemetery. CBS2/KCAL9 pressed the L.A. County Coroner’s Office Thursday to find out why the bodies had not yet received a proper burial after a source indicated there may have been as many as 60 veterans at the morgue for the past year and a half. The morgue says the bodies were unclaimed and they don’t know how long the veterans were there. The law states veterans are supposed to receive a proper burial. The VA’s Socialist Paradise

For the left, the Department of Veterans Affairs is how health care is ideally supposed to work. No insurance companies, no private doctors, no competition — just the government and the patient. Paul Krugman, The New York Times columnist, has held up the VA as a model for the entire country. The Washington Monthly ran a famous article in 2005 arguing that the VA was leading the way for U.S. health care. The socialist senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, is such a reflexive defender that in an instantly notorious interview on CNN he pooh-poohed the burgeoning scandal that may involve

When America sends men and women to fight, it owes them an enduring debt, starting with competent and timely health care and disability benefits when they leave active duty. President Obama expressed outrage on Wednesday at recent charges of wrongdoing in the Department of Veterans Affairs’ health care system. He also dispatched his deputy chief of staff to Phoenix to assess explosive allegations that government workers falsified data to hide long wait times for veterans needing to see doctors. But expressing outrage is hardly enough for a president who, as a candidate in 2008, criticized the agency and vowed to

The VA scandal over alleged “secret wait lists” for health care appointments, which may have contributed to the deaths of dozens of veterans whose treatment was delayed, is still unfolding. Yet the allegations at the core of the scandal are hardly new: A December 2012 report by the Government Accountability Office revealed that four VA medical centers nationwide hid wait times, fudged data and backdated appointments for the purpose of fabricating compliance with department timeliness goals. That should have served as a top-down wakeup call to clean house and bring overdue transparency and reform to what long has been viewed

The NFL draft — the league’s Radio City-staged, nationally televised, endlessly hyped off-season spectacle — opens Thursday night, and for the first time an openly gay player will be waiting for a phone call. But it could be a long wait for Michael Sam, the University of Missouri defender and all-American who came out in February. Draft analysts say he might not be selected until the last picks are made on Saturday — and perhaps not at all. If that happens, Sam could still sign with a team as an undrafted free agent and play on Sundays this fall. But

President Obama is now reaching terminal velocity, like a skydiver plunging toward earth. Except he doesn’t have a parachute. There’s a mighty splat coming soon. With his approval rating at 40 percent, down 6 points from early June, and just 29 percent of Americans convinced the country is on the “right track,” the president is doubling down on his strategy of blaming Republicans for his failures. And he’s shifting into hyperpartisan drive, traveling the country to campaign for Democrats, many of whom wish he’d just stay away. Worse, the news just keeps getting well, worse: The Veterans Affairs scandal is blazing, with

Lois Lerner, the controversial director of the tax-exempt organizations division at the Internal Revenue Service, has a long sordid history of targeting conservatives. Under the direction of Lois Lerner, the Federal Election Commission sued the Christian Coalition in the 1990s. She harassed the Christian Coalition for three election cycles. Eventually, she lost her case. At one point Lerner even asked a targeted conservative if Pat Robertson prayed over him. (Sound familiar?) In 1996, while at the FEC, Lois Lerner harassed Republican Senate candidate Al Salvi and made him this outrageous offer, “Promise me you will never run for office again, and

But for his two-day excursion to Minnesota this week, the president boasted that he’s got little in the way of a formal agenda, has few firm plans, and warned Secret Service that he’s feeling “super loose” and could end up doing any number of things. “I don’t know. Republicans are in the strongest position to win back the Senate since losing it eight years ago. Over several months, the party has expanded its range of targeted seats, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has helped defeat insurgents it didn’t want representing the GOP in the midterm elections. This sober realization came to Democrats on Wednesday, as Tuesday night’s primary results showed they cannot count on Tea Party candidates upsetting more-electable incumbents. And Democrats are increasingly realizing that President Obama’s approval rating will probably remain mired at 45 percent or lower until

A shocking new report from the Center for Immigration Studies claims to prove that every single new job created in America for the last fourteen years has gone to immigrants, legal and illegal. This would fly in the face of those who claim that immigration is an economic boon to native born Americans: The CIS report found that over the last 14 years, people who were born in the United States held 114.8 million jobs in 2000, and held 114.7 million jobs in 2014, a drop of 127,000.
