Cowboys steal their cattle BACK
in tense showdown over Nevada´s last
rancher: Protesters break federal

join fight and pregnant woman claims
she was assaulted by agents

The son of the Nevada rancher locked in an increasingly tense land dispute with the federal government, says their cowboys managed to break a blockade and retrieve around 30 head of cattle. Federal agents swooped on Tuesday after Cliven Bundy, dubbed the last remaining rancher in southern Nevada, refused to remove his herd of 900 cows from land he claims has been in his family since 1870. The heavily-armed federal agents, equipped with eight helicopters and backed-up by snipers, surrounded the Bundy ranch after the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) attained a federal court order to confiscate the family´s herd. This is a really bad situation and the Bundy family ought to stop encouraging it. Of course the cattle belong to the Bundys, but the land does not.

The BLM is enforcing a court order. The courts have never upheld Bundy´s claim and he hasn´t paid his lease for twenty years.

From another story on this situation earlier this week:

Bundy´s son, Dave Bundy, 37, was taken into custody Sunday as he watched the roundup from State Route 170. He was released Monday with bruises on his face and a citation accusing him of refusing to disperse and resisting arrest. A court date has not been set. His mother, Carol Bundy, alleged that her son was roughed up by BLM police

Hate to say it. We need gun control immediately! Get all guns out of the hands of bureaucrats. Why the hell do we have to have an army of potential killers to enforce the what they claim is law. Where is the court case? Have they even been tried in court>?

Details are sketchy..as I understand it. This family PURCHASED the grazing rights for their cattle in the 1890s.
In the 1990s the Feds started collecting grazing "fees"..then the tortoise was discovered, so grazing had to stop because of this? And the FEDS confiscated his cattle.
I don´t know the legal details of this, but I am uncomfortable with this show of manpower and weaponry by FEDS.
If only they were standing at the Mexican border!
Maybe Bundy should declare his cows are illegals, then they can eat where they want !

While I agree with #2 that at the land does not belong to the Bundy´s, I believe that in the future the BLM and other Federal agencies will not confine themselves to federal land. There is nothing to stop these agencies from trying to take control of private land in the same manner.

But the Federal Government should never have taken control of this land in the first place. In defense of Bundy, he explained that the "rare tortoise" the government is trying to protect isn´t threatened by cattle grazing. This is precisely why private lands will be targeted as well. Remember the Sackett case in Idaho?

Mr. Bundy undoubtedly knows more about "land management" than federal bureaucrats with an agenda. IMO, this case is, therefore, a test case and just the beginning. Mark my words.

Of course, this would benefit o´s political backers I´m sure.

We have a federal government that has earned our disrespect. I will admit to being ignorant of most of the facts on this, but my inclination is to side with the ranchers against the government, if for no other reason than they are the government, and in this day and age, that almost certainly means a politically motivated abuse of power. If I were a bettin´ man, I´d bet that Harry Reid is behind this escalation.

Under the Clinton Reign he nationalized huge swaths of the West and Alaska..as environmental, natural resource protection and "World Heritage" sites. Abrogating existing contract and historical usage agreements. He did this not based upon actual facts on the ground or even local issues but to garner votes from blocks of primarily urban "environmental" voters. This particular area had it´s "Grazing Fees" exponentially increased in order to fund a $1Million per year Tortoise research station that doesn´t even primarily house "Natural" tortoises but rather ones that had been pets and donated to the station. More than half of which are diseased and cannot ever be released. The Ranchers issues have to do with the "Special" Fees and limitations imposed that exceed the long standing contracts. He has 600 cows on 600,000 acres....and cows don´t kill tortoises. In fact there is a much greater probability of some of the 200 vehicles the feds moved in crushing the poor things, either directly or by terrorized cows being herded with helicopters stepping on them.

I watched this last night. The goons who showed up had backhoes. They were going to shoot the cattle and bury them. Bundy´s son was tazered by one of these goons 3 times. All he was saying to them was you can confiscate the cattle but the warrant doesn´t give you the right to kill them. It was also mentioned that the tourtose was introduced to the land when the land they were originally on was developed. This is a government made crisis. The Bundy´s have a lease for the grazing rites.

This could be how the shot heard round the world happens in this case or others that are happening. If the Feds fire on innocent peaceful people trying to take back their stolen cattle and act like the mercenaries they are, this could turn into 1776 very quickly.

I have said little on this because our family have close relationships with horse ranchers with huge spreads in Montana and Wyoming. From first hearing of this story, I knew knew in my bones the media (FOX too) was not telling the whole story. Finally, last night Dana Loesch began to educate the lazy media on some of the history of what´s going on in Nevada. Read #19 - the Canada Free Press lays it all out. The Bundys are not the bad guys.

The Canada Free Press is "laying out" a non-related court case. In that case, the rancher, Mr. Hage, owned his land. In this case, Mr. Bundy only owned grazing rights and those only as long as he paid the lease fees. He hasn´t paid lease fees in 20 years. Government leases are a super sweet deal for ranchers and cattle raisers. But, it´s always just a lease.

Bundy is not a victim.

Unbelievable that those here support the unconstitutional and violent acts of our Federal government.

The land does not belong to the feds, no matter how much they lay claim to it. It is called the Enclave clause and reads:

"To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of Particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings;--"

NOTHING in this clause gives the Feds rights to property in order to preserve habitats for a turtle, snake, snail or owl.

James Madison says in Federalist Paper 45:

“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined… The [federal powers] will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce… the powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State.”

The "Bureau of Land Management" has tactical squads as shown on TV?

Seriously? Why? To protect what? Do we not have capable law enforcement agencies for this? Seems every Fed agency now has its own militarized, tactical force to control the population. Just segmented based on where you live. In the case of the West, it must be the BLM.

And if some of the "agents" are former military, have they forgotten their oath??

To whom does the land belong? FTA: "Cliven Bundy has been battling the BLM since 1993...after 600,000 acres of public land were RECLASSIFIED as federal property." [Emphasis added] Others would argue, "the cattle belong to the Bundys, but the land does not."

I suspect that most Americans would be upset if the federal government stepped in and "reclassified" their property...for the most specious of reasons (cf Kelo vs City of New London, CT)
Let´s abandon one cliche ("First they came for...) for another: Whatcha gonna do when THEY* come for you?

*THEY = BLM. IRS, EPA, DOJ, etc.

#29, the land belongs to the feds. It does not belong to the state of Nevada and certainly not to Mr. Bundy. The feds can do pretty much whatever they want to do with federal land. In 1993, the BLM changed the grazing rules for the Gold Butte area. That change did not relieve any lessee from observing the new rules, although Mr. Bundy embraces the argument.

These are thug tactics by a mad, out of control fed bureaucracy. Follow the money!

One issue that is being lost here is that the Fed can´t own land, period.

The Land belongs to the people, and 1800 contracts still apply here.

There is also a read on Ms. Lucianne, written by the Canada Free Press that provides a historical precedent for this issue. The BLM have been overruled in most cases. However the rancher is out of business before the final ruling.

So, the case is not a slam dunk for the BLM.

The Federal Justices have ruled that the BLM needs to go back to DC and let the courts handled the issue. The BLM has also been found to overreach their power and intimidate ranchers before a final ruling.

Looking at BLM vs Bundy:

Just because several federal courts have found for the government and against Bundy, it doesn´t mean that Bundy is in the wrong.

Just because the gubermint says it´s so, doesn´t mean it´s so!

How many here can spell:

Dred Scott, Sedition Act/1918, Japanese Internment Act, Roe v Wade, NFIB v. Sebelius and Justice Roberts.

Regardless of how this turns out, the biggest looser in BLM vs Bundy is the federal government.

Again it is generating lots of animosity for no purpose what so ever except to prove it has the biggest sticks in any disagreement or fight!

Is there any question why the federal government wants to outlaw private ownership of M15 rifles and have the NSA aware of our every move?

We are headed for a very dark place in America if we don´t prevail in the coming elections!

PS: There´s a tree in downtown Boston that´s asking when will it be watered again!

Obama is using this event to incite an incident whereby he can declare Martial Law.

The Posse Comitatus Act, which was created 200 years ago to make sure the military was never used against the citizens. But, for all practical purposes, this law has now been completely negated through Executive Orders issued by Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama.

It is clear that the bureaucrats in Washington, Republican and Democrat alike - are carefully maneuvering for an eventual silent coup... one that would never make headlines but would result in the transfer of power from the American people to a secret group of wealthy oligarchs who already have everything they wanted... except total power.

#9 is right. It is time for civilian militias to rally behind Mr. Buddy before our freedom is extinguished!

If someone thinks a court decision is wrong, the proper procedure is to appeal it, not to arm yourself and hunker down, refusing to comply. I do think this is being handled badly by the Feds. 900 cattle are a lot to deal with. Surely, they could think of some other method of getting Bundy to comply rather than trying to round up 900 cows at gunpoint.

It seem to me that the Colonists used up all recourse within their court system prior to standing up like men and saying:

´Take your Stinking Laws and Overbearing Control and STUFF-IT´ to old King George instead continuing to bow and kneel like subjects.

Until Mr Bundy´s case is heard in the Supreme Court, he still has recourse but the BLM is confiscating his cattle regardless.

You seem to think that we live in a land of ´Law and Order´.

Your wrong!

We live in a land of Soft Tyranny and Soft Despotism as defined by Alexis de Tocqueville in 1835.

This is not a case of violating a court order. It´s a case of a Citizen against a power hungry government.

You do comprehend the difference between a Citizen and a Subject, don´t you?

If you´re having trouble with that, call Mr Bundy and he can help you understand.

The trouble with Mr Bundy is he probably remembers too much of what he was taught in grade school 58 years ago and it appears that his Junior/Senior High School teachers hadn´t ´progressed´ far enough to brow-beat it out of him.

They will gladly to do it and feel proud of it.

The facts are unpleasant; the ranchers have no case. The law, whether perverted or not, favors BLM. The only question is whether the Bundy are totally destroyed in the process.

If you, and the rest of ´The Clutch´, were in the majority in the mid to late 1700s, the East Coast today would be speaking German and the West Coast would be speaking Japanese because England would never have been challenged by the Colonists and the future of Man Kind would have been drastically different than what it has been.

Without America, as America became during the 20th century, England and the rest of those European Perverts would have thrashed away at each other for control of central and western North America and Germany and Japan would have seized the moment to do what they did best.

Additionally, if you, and the rest of ´The Clutch´, prevail today, Man Kind will slide into that Dark Dank Hell Hole of Despotic Statism that most of us have been posting against!

I look forward to the 2014/2016 elections but if ´we´ pick another Milk Toast Wuss like Dole/McCain/Romney, we are done!

PS: Some combination of Palin and Cruz will sit well with the majority of Lucianne posters and produce such a voter turnout that the Statists won´t know what hit them!

LOS ANGELES--First Lady Michelle Obama and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti spoke to a crowd of business owners and civil activists about the issue of veteran homelessness at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Wednesday morning. "We are here today to find concrete opportunities, to get past the rhetoric to get results," Garcetti said in his introductory remarks. "L.A. is a national leader in so many ways: we´ve got the most trade coming through our ports, the most visitors... but we´re also a leader in some bad ways. We´ve got more homeless veterans than anywhere in America." Before introducing the

It’s one thing to take care of illegal immigrants who come to America and are under the age of 18 (before sending them back), and it’s another to burn through taxpayer money rolling out the red carpet. From the Gateway Pundit: The Obama administration has awarded a $50 million contract to a charitable group to buy a Texas resort hotel and transform it in to a 600 bed facility for juvenile illegal aliens. That resort hotel? The Palm Aire Hotel and Suites in Weslaco, Texas – a generously acommodated resort with such amenities as an outdoor swimming pool (pictured above).

McAllen, TX -Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, freed after years of captivity in Afghanistan and returned to active duty this week, has retained an attorney — a military law expert from Yale. Eugene Fidell, who teaches military justice at Yale Law School, told the Los Angeles Times that he has been representing Bergdahl for about a week and is working pro bono. Fidell said he has received a variety of reactions to his decision to work with Bergdahl. "There are people who harbor ill will toward my client," Fidell said, but at the same time he has received emails "wishing my client

Car theft is a major problem in America, but most people would agree that it’s hard to lose a car. As an investigation by the Daily Beast has learned, however, the Pentagon has somehow lost multiple cars belonging to American servicemen and women. Here’s how it happens: The Pentagon often reassigns their soldiers to different stations throughout the world, and helps their families defray the financial costs of moving — including the cost of shipping their cars. For decades, the Pentagon contracted this service out to American Auto Logistics (AAL), but replaced them this summer with a company called International

In 2012, I alerted the federal government to the growing problem of unaccompanied minors making the treacherous journey across Mexico to reach the United States. At that point the minors could annually be numbered in the hundreds or thousands. In recent months, tens of thousands of children have come across the border and are now housed in federal facilities across the U.S., the result of failed federal policies and Washington´s indifference to securing the border. I visited one of these facilities in June and saw these children, frightened and alone, who left their homes and families, survived a harrowing trip, and

Attorneys allied with Democrats in opposing the suit said it´s the GOP that´s going too far by trying to resolve a political dispute by giving the question to the courts to decide. The lawyers appeared Wednesday before the House Rules Committee, which is considering legislation authorizing the House to file the lawsuit. WASHINGTON — The White House said Tuesday night that it would refuse to allow its director of political strategy to testify Wednesday before a Republican-led House committee investigating whether the administration had illegally conducted political activity in the West Wing. In a letter to Representative Darrell Issa, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the president’s top lawyer said that as a member of the executive branch the political director, David Simas, had immunity from being compelled to testify before Congress. In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security.
