BLM Rangers Brought in
From Out of State
for Nevada Ranch ‘Emergency’

Washington Free Beacon, by Elizabeth Harrington

Armed Rangers were brought in from out of state by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to assist in security surrounding the Bundy Ranch, according to the family. A heated confrontation on Wednesday resulted in Cliven Bundy’s son Ammon being tasered by BLM officials and a 57-year-old protester being shoved to the ground. Stetsy Bundy Cox, Cliven’s daughter, told the Washington Free Beacon that some of the rangers had Oregon and California license plates. “You know, some of these guys don’t even know why they’re here,” she said. “A few people have talked to them and they got called in

We all know that political donations are public information -- just look at what happened to Brendan Eich. Anyone want to bet what sort of political affiliation the Bundy´s might have? Hint: Harry Reid has been noticeably silent on this.

OP, how is Mr. Bundy a patriot? He claims title to government land through all kinds of spurious arguments, all of which the courts have rejected. In addition, he owes the BLM more than a million dollars for unpaid lease. He is now trespassing. We can agree about the feds owning too much of Nevada (85%) and heavy-handed BLM actions, but the BLM is enforcing a court order. A leased pasture, whether from the federal government or a neighbor, doesn´t become yours when you decide you would like to have it.

This is not Ruby Ridge or Waco. And Mr. Bundy is risking bloodshed by encouraging people to come (armed) to his defense.

I´m subscribed to a 2nd Amendment blog, some of the members have researched this case extensively. Bundy has been grazing his cattle on a revoked permit for 20 years. The case has gone thru the whole court system and he lost. The BLM has now gone all jackboot on him, but legally he appears to be in the wrong.

This is not Ruby Ridge redo, not anything like it.
Grant it does this man´s actions warrant snipers possibly shooting him over grazing illegally and is a death sentence like Waco had become. The BLM is a little heavy handed in this.

You wonder why government agencies are stockpiling ammo, here is your answer. When bureaucracy begins to fear the citizens it is supposed to be serving, all hell breaks loose.

I´ll deal with #3´s excellent question in a moment, but first this.

In last night´s interview of Mr. Bundy,
http://tinyurl.com/l8o7c6e
Hannity pointed out that the federal government owns more than 28% of U.S. land (some 640 million acres). This seems excessive. It´s the sort of thing which could lead to crises such as that which Mr. Bundy is experiencing. [Have you looked at beef prices lately? Let´s poll housewives to see if they favor affordable beef or the arguments advanced on behalf of the desert tortoise.]

Mr. Bundy is a patriot because he is standing up to the grasping feds (he points out that his cattle are grazing on CLARK COUNTY. NEVADA land. He is defying the courts and the best lawyers the feds can buy (with our tax $$$), perhaps because he knows that the blindfold has been stripped off and justice is anything but blind (cf. Eric Holder and his (not ours) DOJ).

No, Sir, this is not a Ruby Ridge or Waco. It is far, far larger. The populace is awake now and not likely to let another totalitarian abuse happen.

We´re either a nation of laws or we´re not, and I´ll grant you, a lot laws that are "unlawful" on their face.

That´s what we get when we elect the lawmakers that we do --from the county level all the way to Washington D. C.

I don´t know if there´s something going on here that Mr. Bundy is too inarticulate to express [he´s not a very good spokesman for himself], or if the government is truly in the right, but at the moment, I´m not rooting for Mr. Bundy.

If more information surfaces that shows the government is a bunch of liars in what they are telling, then I´ll switch sides.

And yes, I believe it´s entirely possible that the government introduced the turtle for the express purpose of running the ranchers off the land.

It wouldn´t be an "Emergency" if the BLM wasn´t over-reacting in this farcical direct action. They are going to be quickly outnumbered.

Wait for the County Sheriff to deputize citizenry in support of the ranchers.

Wait for the Governor of Nevada to send state-commissioned National Guardsmen to protect the ranchers.

Wait for the feds try to federalize the Guard, and the Guard refuse.

As his policies, foreign and domestic, are collapsing on pretty much every front, President Obama has increasingly sought refuge in talk about global warming. He wants the U.S. to reduce its emissions of carbon dioxide, and the EPA has done its best to bring this about via increasingly stringent regulations on coal-fired power plants. The Democrats wanted to enact cap-and-trade, but couldn’t get it through Congress, so Obama is doing the best he can through administrative action. Simultaneously, the administration has poured billions of dollars into specious “green” energy projects, many of which can’t be kept alive even with lavish

The Wall Street Journal editorial page predictably bemoans the collapse of immigration reform and, equally predictably, insinuates that Democrats conspired to help kill it in order to benefit politically. (Favoring cooperation with President Obama on anything requires conservatives to argue that the president secretly hopes the measure will fail.) But the real news comes in the seventh paragraph, when the Journal reports that House Republicans were actually poised to pass a bill before Eric Cantor´s loss freaked them out: ... a majority of GOP Members wanted an immigration reform to pass as long as they didn´t have to vote for

Every major strand of American conservatism includes a strong libertarian streak, because the value of liberty is fundamental to just about all conservative thought. But today, especially, is said to be the libertarians’ moment. What once was a fringe movement, politically speaking, has moved front and center in our political life. And yet, in my view, libertarians of both the capital L and small l varieties punch below their weight. They have not contributed as much as they should to the conservative movement. This is partly because libertarians tend to founder on foreign policy, where many are merely modern-day isolationists. But

The Israeli government has confirmed reports initially surfacing at the Associated Press and the New York Times that the bodies of three Israeli teenagers reported missing earlier this month have been found. The Israeli cabinet is conducting an emergency meeting on the matter. Officials are confident that they have found the bodies of Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach, who went missing in the West Bank earlier this month. Frenkel, a U.S. Citizen, and Shaar were 16 years old; Yifrach was 19. “They know it’s the three, they will know for sure after they do the autopsy," said an Israeli official to the newspaper on the condition of anonymity. He noted that the children appear to have been killed close to the time of kidnapping and had gunshot wounds. Israel's Haaretz newspaper added that the Israeli government was officially conducting a media blackout until all the details were confirmed.
