Nashville, Tenn. – A convicted robber and parolee was arrested shortly after he allegedly robbed a pharmacy in east Nashville. Officials with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said 22-year-old Justin Conyers entered the Rite Aid on Gallatin Avenue around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday and acted as if he was going to buy something. He then allegedly walked behind the counter, placed a knife against the clerk´s throat, and then took cash from the register. (Snip) Conyers was charged with aggravated robbery and held in lieu of $100,000 bond. In 2011, he was convicted of robbing two east Nashville businesses and

"Criminal mastermind invents time machine, travels 5 years into the past to commit another robbery."

They dole out scant sentences to violent criminals and release them early, and some hapless retail clerk gets a knife held to his or her throat, likely with cold-sweat nightmares lasting for years afterward.

Four men have been arrested over the savage gang rape of a teenage girl who was attacked at a secluded nature spot in Slough. The men - aged 19, 20, and two aged 33 - were held last night in connection with the rape, which took place in woods near the Jubilee River in the Berkshire town on Friday. The two 33-year-olds were bailed to August 3, while the two other suspects remained in police custody, Thames Valley Police said. The 17-year-old girl was brutally attacked as she walked towards Slough high street after she had chatted with a

With its finances in the red and its role sharply curtailed, questions are being raised about the long-term future of the agency that put New Jersey on the map of big-time sports. But no matter what its fate, the hard truth is that the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which once netted tens of millions of dollars annually from The Meadowlands Racetrack and Giants Stadium, will likely be a lingering financial liability for state taxpayers. A series of decisions by officials over time have left it marooned, with significant structural costs and little means to pay for them

It has been six weeks since the city turned off Nicole Hill´s water. Dirty dishes are piled in the sink of her crowded kitchen, where the yellow-and-green linoleum floor is soiled and sticky. A small garbage can is filled with water from a neighbor, while a bigger one sits outside in the yard, where she hopes it will collect some rain. She´s developed an intricate recycling system of washing the dishes, cleaning the floor and flushing the toilet with the same water. "It´s frightening, because you think this is something that only happens somewhere like Africa," said Hill, a single mother

There were 12 people shot — two fatally — in less than seven hours as wave of violence swept across the city early Sunday, cops said. The bloodshed began around 12:30 a.m. in the Huntspoint section of the Bronx, where a man was shot in the back, cops said. Less than two hours later in East Harlem four people were shot when a flurry of gunfire erupted on the corner of 135th Street and Harlem River Drive, cops said. In that incident, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the thigh, along with a 21-year-old man shot in the heel,

MPs do not represent the people of Britain properly because they are too white, David Cameron has said. The Prime Minister said there is "much more to be done" to encourage more people from ethnic minority backgrounds to enter Parliament. Mr Cameron made the comments in a preface to a book, "Rainbow over Westminster", which charts the increasing number of MPs who are black or from ethnic minority backgrounds. In the preface, Mr Cameron said that the book “serves as a reminder – that there is much more to be done. “Our Parliament is still nowhere near representative enough of

A failing hospital has paid at least 10 senior managers more than £200,000 a year despite providing unsafe care. An investigation by The Telegraph can disclose that Medway Foundation trust has hired more than 30 interim managers on six-figure packages over the past few months. The highest paid is receiving up to £540,000 a year. However, the hospital is about to be rated “inadequate” by regulators – the worst possible level – and even its own reports admit the trust needs 120 more nurses to provide patients with safe care. The trust was put into special measures last year after

San Francisco — Thousands of people descended on Dolores Park on Friday afternoon for the nation´s biggest transgender pride event, the 11th annual Trans March, before moving the celebration to the site of the Compton´s Cafeteria Riot at Turk and Taylor streets in San Francisco. Once at the site of the one of the most important transgender riots in U.S. history, city officials unveiled a street sign honoring the late Vicki Marlane, one of San Francisco´s legendary performers. The Board of Supervisors in April approved a resolution to recognize the pioneer, who died of an AIDS-related illness in 2011.

White working class children are being “marginalised” at school after being forced to follow a multicultural timetable that shuns British traditions, according to research. Large numbers of schools follow a curriculum that celebrates a “diverse range of pupils” while sidelining those from poor British families, it was claimed. Head teachers told how they ran numerous projects such as Black History Month and “cultural days” to raise awareness of countries such as Portugal, Poland and Jamaica. But it was claimed that white British pupils from deprived homes often “cannot see themselves or their lives reflected in the curriculum”, turning them off

Facebook’s News Feed—the main list of status updates, messages, and photos you see when you open Facebook on your computer or phone—is not a perfect mirror of the world. But few users expect that Facebook would change their News Feed in order to manipulate their emotional state. We now know that’s exactly what happened two years ago. For one week in January 2012, data scientists skewed what almost 700,000 Facebook users saw when they logged into its service. Some people were shown content with a preponderance of happy and positive words; some were shown content analyzed as sadder than average.

The Keystone Pipeline project was expected to create tens of thousands of high paying jobs in the oil industry. The project itself would create 20,000 construction jobs. And the pipeline would bring oil from Canada and North Dakota to refineries in the United States. The proposed project would have extended from Alberta, Canada to Illinois, transporting approximately 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Estimated cost is $1.7 billion. But Obama rejected the plan in 2011 and 2014. Democrats are beholden to the radical green movement – the poor and middle class be damned. Now this… Canada pulled the plug on Keystone and will

Edward Klein’s book about the animosity between the Clintons and Obamas, “Blood Feud” (Regnery Publishing), rocketed up the best-seller charts since it was featured in The Post last Sunday. Here, in another exclusive excerpt, Klein describes how Bill’s health is a preoccupation of the Clintons. A pair of black, armor-plated SUVs swung into a suburban cul-de-sac and crunched to a stop in the driveway of the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York. A wall of burly Secret Service agents jumped out and surrounded the man who emerged from the lead vehicle. It was mid-summer 2013, and Bill Clinton looked shrunken and weary.

As thousands of disease-riddled criminals storm across our borders, is it really time to mince words? President Obama appears to have an Agenda for America that stinks worse than a Border Patrol bus depot crammed with urine-drenched illegals. Is the man trying to protect and defend us, or does he want us to kick the bucket, run down the curtain, and join the choir invisible? On January 29, 2014, the Department of Homeland Security advertised for a vendor to escort 65,000 “unaccompanied alien children,” indicating that they not only knew the alien invasion was coming, they planned it.

Said McCain, "There are some people complaining that African-American voters voted. [But] I thought one of the major priorities of the Republican Party was to get all minority and ethnic voters out to vote for Republicans." Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses

I am rapidly coming to the preliminary conclusion that Elizabeth Warren will be the Democrats’ 2016 standard bearer. Hillary Clinton is just too unlikable (remember that Barack Obama called her “likable enough” in one of the most memorable back handed compliments of recent political memory), and too transparently greedy, self-serving, and out of touch. Not to mention the appalling foreign affairs crises the United States faces in the wake of her term as Secretary of State. Her brand is tarnished.
