Russia hid information from FBI on
Boston Marathon bomber: report

New York Daily News, by Bill Hutchinson

Two years before the Boston Marathon bombing, the Russian government concealed key information on one of the killers that might have thwarted the attack, a new report charges.Kremlin officials intercepted a phone conversation in which Tamerlan Tsarnaev discussed Islamic jihad with his mother, but they withheld the information from the FBI, according to the U.S. inspector general report that comes as the one-year anniversary of the bombing approaches. Had the FBI been privy to the red-flag phone call, it would have prompted the bureau to take an extensive look at Tsarnaev, according to The New York Times. “Had they known what the

I think the FBI was lax and is just trying to displace blame onto the Russians. The Russians gave them a basic warning about Tamerlan and the FBI dropped the ball. I don´t look to the FBI for protection anymore, they have been corrupted just like the rest of the federal government.

FTA: In 2011, Russian officials warned the FBI that Tamerlan Tsarnaev “was a follower of radical Islam and a strong believer” and “had changed drastically since 2010.”

FBI blames the Russians for not sharing a single, wired tapped conversation between Tsarnaev and his mother for the FBI´s failures to stop the two terrorists. Yet the FBI failed:
1. To do more than an interview of Tsaranev in which it detected nothing suspicious.
2. The NSA is collecting a billion phone calls a day yet the FBI never bothered to get a court approved wire tap of this identified Islamic terrorist?
3. The FBI killed the murderous associate of Tsaranev as he was about to sign a confession that he and Tsaranev slit the throats of 3 drug dealers on 9/11/11. The FBI, naturally, exonerated itself in this Florida shooting.
4. Tsaranev traveled to and from Russia´s terror region through JFK because our federal government mistakenly added a "y" to his name.

Just another attempt to smear Russia. The press has been tasked with making Russia out to be the evil monster. This is pure propaganda designed to influence and manipulate the American public. The funny thing is that it also is the mantra of this administration: that being, "It is not our fault".

It is encouraging that so many on Lucianne see this for what it is.

The FBI dropped the ball and probably have done so on more than one occasion. Unfortunately, this time, it mattered. Trying to blame the Russians is pathetic. They had given the FBI enough information to make them curious, however, the FBI made the choice to blow it off. Russia has no responsibility to protect our citizens from terrorists. That is our responsibility. The FBI evidently chose to ignore the information given to them. Period. I pray they have learned their lesson.

Seriously, "withheld"? The Russians don´t owe us anything. They did us a favor by alerting us in the first place. It´s not all of a sudden their fault that not everything got mentioned.

The use of the word "witheld" implies that there was some sort of duty or legal requirement to convey the information but they refused to do so. Sort of like how the DOJ witholds information from Congress...

The FBI has to know that you cannot ever trust the Russians. Obviously the Russians are going to filter the information that they give to the FBI to disguise their intelligence methods and sources and expect the FBI to do their own investigation to expand on whatever initial information they gave to the FBI.
