Wall Street Journal: Opponents

Breitbart California, by Staff

Original Article

The Wall Street Journal strongly suggested Wednesday that opponents of "comprehensive" immigration reform are mere racists, in a slew of commentary prompted by the controversy over former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush´s remark this week that illegal immigration was an "act of love." Though the Journal editorial page is often quite conservative, it frequently criticizes the Tea Party, and it tends to favor a liberal policy on immigration reform. In an editorial entitled "Jeb Bush´s Immigration Heresy," the Journal´s editorial writers assert that Bush has "already got a better immigration message than the self-defeating "self-deportation" crowd that cost the GOP so

So what´s new. They have been for open borders since the 1980´s. You would think that it would be appropriate to obey the rule of law. s/o

Lie-beral rule #56: If you can´t win an argument using logic, reason and facts, call your opponent a bad name.

Of course, lie-berals can NEVER win an argument using logic, reason or facts, because those particular things NEVER back up their side of any issue...

I started reading the WSJ in the early 1970s and was shocked how strongly the editorial board favored what was essentially open borders. People forget that the Chamber-of-Commerce mentality runs deep in the GOP and that there has long been the thought there that unbridled immigration brings not only cheap labor but also increases in commerce. The new arrivals need housing and goods - the GOP-owned businesses want to sell those things to them.

Thus calling pro-amnesty Republicans RINO´s is ludicrous as there has long been an open-borders streak within the party. In fact, before the infusion of working-class Reagan Democrats, the pro-amnesty crowd may have dominated the GOP.

What the open-borders Pubbies forget however, is that new arrivals rarely carry their own weight - as our modern welfare state essentially provides every man woman and child with the material goods and services to bring them to the equivalent of a $30,000 year family income. The illegals, as a family, are productive to maybe half that. So the more illegals the more the economy grows, but with half the growth coming from government largess, only half comes from the private sector.

The WSJ has been in favor of flooding the legal US labor market with cheap foreign labor all along, so you have to take what they say about people opposing that as being racists with a grain of salt. If the WSJ gets their way, just about everyone blue collar on down would only be able to earn near the minimum wage.

Must learn English before becoming citizen!

I have spent most of my life in Arizona, Texas and Florida. almost without fail the Americans with Mexican or Cuban background haven been outstanding citizens. In my two tours in RVN with the Infantry those with that ancestry were patriotic Americans. I would have their back any day.

I want the editorial board of the WSJ to be in the next real life Hunger Games. There they go, pushing the establishment handpicked candidate for us. Demonizing all opposition, so they can keep stealing cookies from the baker with no regard or thought of protecting the baker at all. After all illegal immigration is an act of love. It´s just a misdemeanor. So when I rob a 7-11 to get money to feed my children and buy beer, that´s ok, because i broke the law as an act of love for my family. The last poll I saw was that immigration was so far down the list of important issues to the American people that it was almost nonexistent. Democrat attention I undersand since they constantly try to divide. But why all the attention from "conservatives"? .

The Iraqi government may be finally enjoying some military successes in their struggle to roll back the advancing Sunni Islamic militant group ISIS. On Thursday night, according to Baghdad, the Iraqi army recaptured the city of Awja, Saddam Hussein’s birthplace. “Backed by helicopter gunships and helped by Shi’ite Muslim volunteers, the army recaptured the village of Awja in an hour-long battle on Thursday night, according to state media, police and local inhabitants,” Reuters reported. Editor´s note: This column originally appeared in the July issue of Townhall Magazine. Despite President Obama’s promise of an “unprecedented level of openness in government,” the American people have unfortunately become accustomed to a new normal over the past six years: incompetence, scandal, and misconduct. When news breaks about freshly exposed corruption, the reaction of far too many is, “Unbelievable, but I’m not surprised.” Since Obama took office in 2009, we’ve witnessed Operation Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Department of Justice spying on reporters and their families, IRS targeting of conservatives, the HealthCare.gov debacle, the GSA conference scandal, Solyndra, veterans dying as a

Independence Day is a good time to revisit the foundations of our political order, especially given the long record of Barack Obama and the Democrats’ disregard for the Constitution. The members of the Continental Congress who met in Philadelphia in July 1776 sought their independence from England in order to recover their rights that had been violated by a tyrant, and to establish political freedom and autonomy so that those rights could be protected from further erosion. For a century now the Progressive ideology has insidiously undermined that legacy of autonomy in a slow-motion revolution that aims to “fundamentally transform

Coal may have played an integral role in turning the U.S. into the world’s top economic superpower, but President Obama is actively pushing China, India and other emerging economies to ignore the fuel that powered the Industrial Revolution and instead embrace renewable sources favored by those on the political left. So far, however, there’s little evidence those countries intend to listen to Mr. Obama, with China’s coal consumption, for example, skyrocketing and
