House Committee: Possible
Crimes by IRS Official

Associated Press, by Stephen Ohlemacher

The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee says investigators have uncovered evidence that a former Internal Revenue Service official may have committed crimes as part of the agency´s tea party controversy. Rep. Dave Camp set a committee vote for Wednesday on whether to refer Lois Lerner, who used to head the agency´s tax-exempt division, to the Justice Department "for possible criminal prosecution." Camp, R-Mich., did not specify which laws Lerner may have broken. Lerner´s lawyer, William W. Taylor III, has said she broke no laws. On Monday, Taylor emailed this response to Camp´s announcement: "One word: Ridiculous." Camp´s committee has been investigating

Would be nice if this Lerner creep starts singing.

One of the mistakes Bush 43 made was to say before elected he would not pursue the scandals of the prior administration, I suggest the opposite of our next nominee.

Declare this woman in contempt of congress and lock her up. That´s the only way we will get to the bottom (top) of this mess.

Well, Lois and her mouthpiece can say they´ve talked to the Justice Dept., but that´s nothing more than another meeting of her defense lawyer team.

As for the Republicans in the House holding Lois in contempt, it´s time to fish or cut bait.

If she goes to jail she will be in good company. Remember Susan McDougal?

"Susan McDougal (born 1955) is one of the few people who served prison time as a result of the Whitewater controversy although fifteen individuals were convicted of various federal charges. Her refusal to answer "three questions" for a grand jury about whether President Bill Clinton lied in his testimony during her Whitewater trial led her to receive a jail sentence of 18 months for contempt of court. This comprised most of the total 22 months she spent in incarceration. McDougal received a full Presidential pardon from outgoing President Clinton in the final hours of his presidency in 2001."

Don´t look for Boehner to do anything. I´ve come to the conclusion that he will do nothing to upset the apple cart. He likes his position and want´s to stay in it. And he is just like McCain. He loves to tell the public that he works well with his "friends across the isle". Not being a lawyer, I don´t really know what action Issa and other committee members can do to put a stop to the runaway criminality of this administration. And that includes Obozo himself.

#19 has a ´devil´s advocate´ point - Waste of time referring charges to this Justice (cough, cough) Dept.

No charges (yet) - No conviction - No pardon.

Unfortunately, that requires that a GOP that we are not familiar with takes control in 2016, not sure if Senate control in 2014 is enough.

Or...if the committee makes the charges public and Holder does nothing, does that open him up to impeachment, and the court of public opinion explodes against this regime.

FTA: “Several hundred applications, from both conservative and liberal groups, languished for years without a ruling by the IRS, the report said.”

An example of the biased reporting of the facts, the “several hundred applications” only included one or two liberal groups, and almost all of the conservative groups are still “languishing” without a ruling. It’s similar to the times that one republican votes with the rats and it’s called “bi-partisan” while when several rats break ranks it’s “mostly a party-line vote”.

For most of us here, politics and current affairs are spectator sports, but the majority of the country still doesn’t realize how the press manipulates the facts and figures. We are the watchdogs that dig beneath the surface and more often than not, our warning barks are just irritating the uninformed. They feel that they have fulfilled their civic duty if they vote, plus voting gives them the right to complain about what they voted for. Unless they get personally burned by something they supported they stay ignorant of the government abuses.

FOX News may get more viewers than all the other cable news networks combined, but they pale in comparison to big three national networks. Until there is a change to unbiased reporting of the nightly news, we’re just a sneeze in a windstorm.

When Bush let the crimes of the prior administration slide, he allowed their contempt for the law to continue, and now the left is completely out of control... but, why do you think Hitlery illegally obtained 700 FBI files and "couldn´t find them" for years? They were making extensive blackmail files. If we were actually a country of laws or had a media, we might find out who´s files they were, and who is being blackmailed into silence. and Hitlery would be in prison.

Sebelius, Jarrett, Holder, Pelosi, Reid, Lerner, Axelrod, the whole corrupt bunch of them have brought this country to the brink of collapse and made the US an international joke. I am a retired Asst. U.S. Attorney. Grand Juries do not operate on their own. While the District Courts convene them, and receive the True Bills of Indictments that prosecutors submit to Grand Juries, the Courts do not conduct investigations on their own. It is a separation of powers issue. The phenomenon of a Presentment has not been used in recent memory. Even if a Grand Jury issued an Indictment or Presentment independently, who would prosecute it? Only DOJ can prosecute criminal cases in Federal Court. Since Holder will neither prosecute nor pursue contempt charges, asking DOJ to assist is such a complete exercise in futility that it borders on insanity. All that remains is the inherent power the House of Representatives has to hold a person in contempt. The Sgt-at-Arms makes the arrest, Lerner appears before the legislative body, the body holds a hearing/trial, if the contempt citation is vindicated, she goes to jail, either for a term or for a coercive exercise. The last time Congress used this process was 1934. The Supremes denied the Writ of Hab. Corpus when the respondent went to jail for 10 days. So the exercise succeeded, at least in putting someone in jail. I guess 80 years ago members of Congress had more fortitude. Can´t say testicular anymore, it would be politically and anatomically (to a large extent) incorrect.

This was the White House’s exaggerated response to a well-documented, front-page Wall Street Journal story that concluded, “the breadth of global instability now unfolding hasn’t been seen since the late 1970s.” The article also charged that under this administration, “U.S. global power seems increasingly tenuous.” This should be obvious to anyone who’s been following foreign events — make that crises —

The House approved the cuts by voice vote after little debate as it took up a $21 billion spending bill that sets the IRS budget. The cuts reflect GOP outrage over the agency´s scrutiny of tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status. The White House had already issued a veto threat on the legislation, saying it

The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. [Snip] It can take up to 10 minutes for every radio, TV, cable and satellite provider to

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that

President Obama is known for being competitive on the basketball court, but he´s also apparently a cutthroat pool player. Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on Sunday that the president surprised him by beat him in two consecutive games. To add insult to injury, the two were playing at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, a bar that Hickenlooper co-founded. "You know I´ll tell ya -- the man is a shark," Hickenlooper told reporters, Time reports. "I was up a few balls. I felt pretty good. I was actually wondering whether how hard should I --
