U.S. childhood obesity rates have increased over the past 14 years, according to a study published on Monday, casting doubt on a recent analysis by government health researchers that found a sharp drop in preschool obesity rates over the past decade. The good news, announced in February by researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), received widespread media coverage and prompted first lady Michelle Obama to say she was "thrilled at the progress we´ve made over the last few years in obesity rates among our youngest Americans. The new study, published online in the medical journal JAMA

Comments:
So much for Moochelle´s victory lap re the CDC study, finally admitted to have flaws, that said childhood obesity was on the wane. Just look around you ... I see fat kids with fat mothers.

From the article:

"Even though we don´t see huge increases in the rates of children who are overweight or obese, there are clearly more in the categories that are severely obese," Skinner said.

There were especially noticeable increases in the rates of severe obesity among black boys, Hispanic girls and white girls, Skinner said.

That´s about what we see here.

Some of these young bodies are grotesque. Huge buttocks and haunches that look like a pair of pillows; literally bags of fat hanging in the belly and groin areas. They waddle rather than walk. How on earth do they get rid of that kind of obesity?

The board voted 10-1 Monday morning to endorse the new education standards in a step that makes Indiana the first state to formally abandon the national benchmarks that had been adopted by 45 states. Some conservatives and Tea Party members say the Common Core cedes too much power to the federal government. Indiana state Senate President Pro Tem David Long says the adoption of these standards prevents that.

Most religious movies feel as if they’re made by a church committee, but every now and then a wild-eyed prophet wanders in and rattles the theater with brimstone. Regardless of your feelings about either movie, Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ” qualifies and so does Martin Scorsese’s “The Last Temptation of Christ.” Now director Darren Aronofsky (“Black Swan,” “The Wrestler”) has ascended to the mountaintop and returned with the strangest, most visionary cinematic parable yet. “Noah” is equal parts ridiculous and magnificent, a showman’s folly and a madman’s epic. It elaborates on the Book of Genesis’s slender story of Noah

Glenn Beck has set up Mercury One Children and Family Border Relief Fund to help illegals coming into the United States. He’s already raised $600,000. Beck stated that Obama would not have to step in and ask for $3.7 billion if private charities would pick up the slack and give to the swarm of illegals crossing the border. Is he kidding? Do we really need more churches and non-profits enabling this blatant attack on America? Rich people and liberal elite billionaires have no skin in the game when it comes to the consequences of illegal immigration so what do they care? It’s the working class and middle class who will take the hit.
