NYC’s tanning salons inspected more

New York Post, by Carl Campanile

The state Health Department is failing to inspect many of New York’s abortion clinics — with some facilities escaping scrutiny for more than a decade, bombshell documents obtained by The Post reveal. Health inspectors regulate 25 diagnostic and treatment clinics and surgery centers that provide abortion services — though pro-choice advocates say there are 225 abortion service providers in New York state. Eight of the 25 clinics were never inspected over the 2000-12 span, five were inspected just once, and eight were inspected only twice or three times — meaning once every four or six years. A total of just 45 inspections were

This makes sense - Tanning Salons are taxed. Abortions are not.

Want to find a tax that liberals would hate?

Suggest that we tax abortions!

Congressman Jason Chaffetz angrily reminded Americans that contrary to current reports, the IRS commissioner had smugly testified in March that all of Lois Lerner’s emails would be turned over to Congress after receiving their subpoena. Friday afternoon officials made the maddening announcement that the IRS had “accidentally” deleted emails from Lois Lerner that might explain how the Tea Party targeting scandal occurred. Here’s the video in its entirety:(Snip for video)Are we really supposed to believe that some “glitch” has completely deleted those emails that might just implicate the Obama administration in using the IRS to target its political enemies right

Dr. Cornel West is a leading liberal public intellectual. He gave an interview to NewsOne immediately following the 2012 Election that was nothing if not provocative. Dr. West said he was happy Romney didn’t win, but far from satisfied with the Obama record and especially with the just-ended presidential campaign: So we end up with such a narrow, truncated political discourse, as the major problems—ecological catastrophe, climate change, global warming. So it’s very sad. I mean, I’m glad there was not a right-wing takeover, but we end up with a Republican, a Rockefeller Republican in blackface, with Barack Obama, so

Bedside rationing is coming with

National uproar over the Veterans Affairs scandal should refocus the nation´s attention to the issue of health care rationing. Under VA care, 40 patients died while waiting for treatment at a Phoenix, Ariz., facility. Not only is that the tip of the iceberg in terms of what government-run health care means for patients, it should also sound the alarm about the newest tactic for rationing care, bedside rationing. In an effort to bend the health care cost curve, oncology doctors may soon be encouraged to do the government’s and insurers’ bidding in rationing high-cost health care treatments and procedures. Reporting from Washington— The armed Taliban fighters who captured Bowe Bergdahl in southeastern Afghanistan on June 30, 2009, quickly handed him to a far more dangerous group that shuttled him between hide-outs in Pakistan´s rugged tribal belt for the next five years. For much of that time, CIA drones trolled the skies overhead, searching for signs of the missing U.S. soldier. Until late last year, the drones fired missiles that killed hundreds of fighters and at least one senior leader of the militant group, known as the Haqqani network. A five-month halt in the CIA drone strikes this year coincided with intensifying efforts

Today — Father’s Day — children of all ages will show their appreciation for their dads with gifts, cards or just spending time together. But for a growing number of men this Father’s Day, the best gift is one their kids can’t offer: a job. For that we can blame our chronically sluggish economy — and our bankrupt leadership in Washington. True, the nation churned out 217,000 new jobs in May. That means we’ve finally recovered all the jobs we’ve lost since the financial collapse, and the number countrywide is now at an all-time high. Even so, the picture is more complex. As

For at least three reasons, the contemporary persecution of Christians demands attention: It is occurring on a massive scale, it is underreported, and in many parts of the world it is rapidly growing. The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life finds that Christians are suffering persecution in more places today than any other religious group; between 2006 and 2012, Pew says, they were targeted for harassment in 151 countries—three-quarters of the world’s states. Similar findings are reported by the Vatican, Newsweek, the Economist, and the 60-year-old Christian support group Open Doors. Most people in the West are unaware of

Or was this just one of those highly, highly unusual computer crashes that affects only the email account of Lois Lerner and any executive branch official with whom she happened to

One of George W. Bush´s most toxic legacies is the introduction of al Qaeda into Iraq, which is the ISIS mother ship.
