Jeb Bush: Many illegal immigrants
come out of an ‘act of love’

Washington Post, by By Ed O´Keefe

Original Article

Posted By:Sanchin, 4/6/2014 7:45:12 PM

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush said Sunday that many who illegally come to the United States do so out of an "act of love" for their families and should be treated differently than people who illegally cross U.S. borders or overstay visas. The comments came during an event marking the 25th anniversary of the presidency of George H. W. Bush at the library and museum that bears the name of the Bush patriarch.

Comments:
Thank you Jeb!!! Now everyone has documented proof as to exactly what you are and where you stand. How anyone who claims to be a Republican can support you for any office is beyond my understanding. Also, I fail to see how your comments can be interpreted as anything other than Racist because your "act of Love" only extends to those of Latin descent who come here illegally via crossing the border. The Europeans, Asian, and others are NOT eligible for your love. The point is, this is not about immigration it is about pandering to the Hispanic Community.

Between supporting common core and now apologizing for illegals Jeb has washed himself out of any consideration for a White House run.

We need someone who will support our laws, including those presently governing immigration and who is for less government intervention in our lives.

Please Jeb, go home and stay there.

Yes, well, some bank robbers only rob banks because they have a family member with an expensive-to-treat illness. Some people only embezzle from their employer to pay hospital bills for a sick family member.

They only rob banks out of love for their family, or they only embezzle out of love for their family.

Should we not prosecute bank robbers/embezzlers if they have a sick family member?? What if the banker/boss they rob also has a sick family member??

Jeb lives in secured neighborhoods. He shops in exclusive stores. He is shuttled around in private jets. The exploitation of Illegal workers probably enhances the Bush family investment portfolio. No wonder jeb takes a romanticized, abstract view of illegals.

Perhaps Jeb could buy an area of land in Florida, and personally fund a few thousand families with food stamps, medical and living care, and all family expenses etc. That would be an "act of love", and put his money where his mouth is.

So, for any RINO voters who think that it would be a good choice for Jeb Bush to run in 2016, think again. I would jump out a window faster than to vote for a man so out of touch with AMERICANS´ struggles today.

What #3 said. Illegal immigration is theft, plain and simple. Theft of our citizenship rights, and financial theft of income and benefits that belong to legal residents and citizens. Any theft can be justified as an ´act of love´ for your family, but it is still theft.

First Marco, now Jeb. At least Marco has responded to the ´heat´ and is trying to pull back. He may be forgiven. An unrepentant Jeb will not. Go away.

If Jeb is the 2016 republican nominee, there will definitely be a third party candidate.

There is no difference between him and a dem.

If there is a third party candidate, they will win. Americans have had enough of both corrupt parties.

I admit, had Palin not been on the ticket with McCain, I would have been one of the one´s that sat on their hands and didn´t vote,

Is there a second source on Jeb´s quote? I don´t trust the WaPoo and wouldn´t put it past them to fabricate this to get the base riled-up.

Such fools & Jeb Bush disgusts me pretending to be a conservative and dissing the constitution and our laws. Think I´ll run a red light next time I see a cop watching. Have the people who vote for the GOP not learned their lesson. I hope so. Both previous presidents Bush and now Jeb are all for the One World Government with the U.N. in control of all nations an it´s president as president of the world.

World wide Marxist communism is on the march as fast as they can force it upon the people who love freedom by getting the people to actually vote themselves under Marxist communism voluntarily just as the Manifesto states will happen.

Well, just about every illegal alien who sneaks across the US-Mexico border, if asked, will tell you that the reason that he or she sneaked into the USA was for a better life for him or herself and their families.

So essentially what Bush is saying that the USA should have an open borderline with Mexico.

Since there are over 120 million Mexicans down there in Mexico, and it is known that least a third of them would head for the USA if they did not think that they could be arrested and deported, and that once here that they could find a job.

Following that when the Democrats made as many Mexicans as possible US voters, resulting in millions more American workers only being able to earn near the minimum wage because the US legal labor market was flooded with cheap foreign labor, it would be a pipe dream to believe that Bush or any other Republican would have a chance to get elected to Presidential office in this country.

Horse-hockey! They come here and hold down wages for Americans! Those of us whose families came here in the past, for love of family, all did so legally. Have you ever been to Ellis Island?
Americans are a very generous people, the most charitable in the world. Many often give the shirt off their back and unlike most politicians or "the elite", they never ask for any recognition. They truly know what an ´act of love´ is, and live it everyday.
Respectfully Governor, welcoming and excusing the illegals as you are, is taking from and giving away someone else´s shirt, when they may not have one to give. That´s not an act of love, that´s theft.
You should be ashamed, and should change your party affiliation. Stand with those that support legalized theft.
That the Republican party stands with and support this says all anyone needs to know about them.
I pray Governor, that your reflections during the Lenten season open your eyes and increase your understanding to all that you implore.

Consider this. The Bush water carriers have always insisted that Jeb was the smart one. Lord have mercy! So love is the catalyst for immigration? Who knew? For the record, the Irish came to escape the Great Famine, the Central Europeans to escape interminable warfare, the Russian Jews to escape Czarist pogroms, the Latins to escape their grinding poverty etc. The catalyst for immigration has always been economics, per Adam Smith. Jeb is confusing these illegals, w/tourists here to see our sights. That this pompous and ignorant doofus is an establishment choice says volumes about the mental state of the GOP. The TP is not a matter of if, it´s merely when!!!

# 15 No, many apparently did not read the article or actually get the full quote.
To the delight of the media who love to rile up the far right.
Bush never said "many ".
Bush talked about securing the border and deporting illegals.
"There are means by which we can control our border better than we have. And there should be penalties for breaking the law,"
Bush talked specifically about " someone" who comes here illegally..just to put food on the table
to feed his kids.
He never said from which country this " someone " would come.
Bush also said the father should have to pay a price for coming here illegally.

it has been suggested above that the penalty for illegal aliens is inappropriate.
I agree.
It should not be a criminal justice issue. It is a national defense issue. These are not criminals, they are invaders. The response to invasions are well known and generally consistent across the ages and around the world. So let us be consistent. Don´t arrest these invaders. Shoot them. Without warning and wherever found and regardless of longevity within the borders.
Shoot them. End of story. Lobbing a few artillery rounds into the nation(s) of origin may or may not be appropriate. In cases wherein that nation of origin has a demonstrated record of encouraging such incursions, sufficient in some cases to amount to a State of War, then bombing runs on their capital seem appropriate.

Whoever wants to enjoy the benefits of U.S. citizenship is welcome to get in line and follow the legal procedure, just as my grandparents did. There should be no exception...no "grandfather clause" and no amnesty.

Bears, beer and horse heads: What exactly is going on with the leader of the free world? On a single day this week in Denver, President Obama scarfed down pizza and drinks with strangers, shot pool with Colorado’s governor and shook hands with a guy on the street wearing a horse mask. His top staffers are promoting these stops on Twitter with the hashtag #TheBearIsLoose — a term one of Obama’s aides coined in 2008 when the candidate would defy his schedule. More than five years into his presidency, Obama is trying to free himself from the constraints of office,

It’s true what they say about Michelle Obama. She has amazing arms. I saw this up close when she unfurled her bare right limb in front of me Thursday night, while the two of us were doing tapas at the jumping Barcelona on 14th Street NW. Clearly the first lady works out, clearly she moisturizes and clearly L’Oréal should hire her as its pitchwoman after she leaves 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. “Ma’am, you rock,” I wanted to tell her, even though I was seated a table away from her party of eight, which included White House chef Sam Kass, and was

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) yesterday described herself as a “lioness” when it comes to protecting children. She also called not only for the U.S. government to process minors arriving illegally from Central America on a “case-by-case basis" but for the government to “treat the Mexican kids the way they treat the non-contiguous country kids.” “Quite frankly, I would rather they treat the Mexican kids the way they treat the non-contiguous country kids,” Pelosi said at a Capitol Hill press conference on Thursday, claiming that sending these children back to their home countries would be like “sending them back into a

Angry Democrats in Nebraska said the Obama Outhouse float in the 4th of July parade may have been racist. So now Eric Holder is looking into it. Omaha.com reported: The U.S. Department of Justice has joined the discussions over a controversial float in the Norfolk Independence Day parade. The department sent a member of its Community Relations Service team, which gets involved in discrimination disputes, to a Thursday meeting about the issue. Also at the meeting were the NAACP, the Norfolk mayor and The Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The Odd Fellows organized the parade. One of the floats included a zombie-like mannequin standing near

SAN DIEGO - The family that drew national attention when they were rescued at sea off their sailboat, Rebel Heart, in April is finally setting the record straight. Charlotte and Eric Kaufman and their two daughters were about 1,000 miles west of Cabo San Lucas in the Sea of Cortez when 1-year old Lyra became sick. That was when their adventure of a lifetime turned into a nightmare. It began with a fever, then a rash and then Lyra became lethargic. That was when the couple used their satellite cell phone to call a doctor. He advised them to begin treating Lyra

As NBC reports, “´The Bear is Loose´: Obama Strolls to Starbucks in D.C.” Hear him roar! Elsewhere we read: CNN: “Obama, the ‘Bear,’ is loose and trying to reconnect with voters” ABC: “Obama ‘The Bear’ Lets Loose in Denver” Huffington Post: ´The Bear Is Loose!´ Obama Goes Out And About” Washington Post: “The bear is loose’: Obama escapes from the White House” Whitehouse.gov explicates: Going all the way back to the early days of the campaign, whenever President Obama shook off his schedule and busted out of the bubble, we would say "The Bear is loose." Lately, the Bear has

Glenn Beck has set up Mercury One Children and Family Border Relief Fund to help illegals coming into the United States. He’s already raised $600,000. Beck stated that Obama would not have to step in and ask for $3.7 billion if private charities would pick up the slack and give to the swarm of illegals crossing the border. Is he kidding? Do we really need more churches and non-profits enabling this blatant attack on America? Rich people and liberal elite billionaires have no skin in the game when it comes to the consequences of illegal immigration so what do they care? It’s the working class and middle class who will take the hit.

BOSTON — Comedian Bill Cosby and his wife Camille are supporting protesters marching across Massachusetts in opposition to Kinder Morgan’s proposed natural gas pipeline. The couple, who own hundreds of acres of protected land in Shelburne Falls, about 100 miles west of Boston, have been opposed to the pipeline since the company notified them last winter of plans to survey their land. Through a spokesman, the couple said it was “astounding” that New England’s six governors support the proposal, which they said shows “disrespect for humans, flora and fauna.” Supporters of the $3.75 billion Northeast Pipeline Extension Project say it will provide

The facts are simple. The IRS systematically targeted conservative and Tea Party groups after their activism proved decisive in the 2010 midterm elections—Obama’s famous “shellacking.” The effects of this targeting were widespread. Some Tea Party groups were neutered in the months before the 2012 presidential election. Few of the explanations or justifications of this targeting provided by IRS leaders and Obama administration officials have held up. IRS officials at first denied that any targeting had taken place. That was false. They later claimed that the targeting had involved only low-level employees in the Cincinnati office. That was false. They argued
