GOP seeks coverage choices
in health law they hate

Associated Press, by David Espo

WASHINGTON - At the prodding of business organizations, House Republicans quietly secured a recent change in President Barack Obama´s health law to expand coverage choices, a striking, one-of-a-kind departure from dozens of high-decibel attempts to repeal or dismember it. Democrats describe the change involving small-business coverage options as a straightforward improvement of the type they are eager to make, and Obama signed it into law. Republicans are loath to agree, given the strong sentiment among the rank and file that the only fix the law deserves is a burial. "Maybe you say it helps (Obamacare), but it really helps

Phil Roe is/was a Tea Party favorite here in East TN. While there may be merit to the fix, it will indeed make it more difficult to be rid of this monstrosity. It will benefit "business" at the expense of our long term liberty.

I would expect this from an Establishment type, but et tu, Phil?

This only convinces me all the more that the GOP leadership is part of the problem.

The GOP old guard always hides behind "responsible governing" as a cover to their complicity with the socialist dims. Do the dims ever act in this manner? No. The GOP boxes itself in by always accepting the socialist programs and then trying to tweak them to benefit the "business community". I have never seen the dims accept any GOP proposals. The dims always scream and scratch and fight for what they believe, the GOP never does.

I´m so tired of it all. We know the old guard knows how to fight. TEA Movement people have seen and felt their long knives that are always sheathed against their supposed adversaries of the "other party".

REPEAL must be the GOP´s mantra, but it will never be. They´d rather lose the election because its easier to be the junior partner of the Cartel Party than have to deal with their pesky base of conservative voters.

Got TEA?

Lotta acorns apparently falling on some L-Dotters´ heads today. I read this article and I don´t find enough unslanted detail (it is AP, after all) to merit all the caterwauling. No, it´s not now a "bipartisan bill" and no, nothing has changed regarding the goal of replacing the abominations of Obamacare. As many calmer heads have tried to state previously, there is nothing left to "repeal", since the law itself is now unrecognizable as what was passed in 2009. It´ll have to be done in pieces. Don´t lose heart. We´ll get rid of the parts we hate and we´ll add some better stuff, such as tort reform.

#10 - The GOP lied to us and to Ted Cruz. Cruz wanted to repeal Obamacare. The GOP establishment told Senator Cruz that theirs´ was the better plan - to sit back and let Obamacare crash. Then what does the GOP do? They vote to improve Obamacare. Two timing creeps. You think the Tea Party will forget this perfidy? Think again.

Because of this GOP vote, Obamacare is now bipartisan. Don´t wet my leg and tell me it´s raining. It may have changed since the original bill, but now the GOP has validated its current state.

And one more thing - calmer heads? More like passionless nest-feathering politicians.

The title should actually read "GOP fixes
part of Obamacare to help small businesses. "

" The provision itself was relatively minor. "

"It eliminated a cap on deductibles for small group policies offered inside the law´s health care exchanges as well as outside; the cap was set at $2,000 for individuals and $4,000 for families "
Oh the horror.
"Republicans said they sought it so small businesses can offer high-deductible plans
that could be purchased by individuals who also have health savings accounts.
These tax-preferred accounts are a long-time favorite of many Republicans, who say they give consumers greater control over their own health care."

The GOP isn´t interested in so-called governing. The whole reason we gave the GOP House the landslide in Nov. 2010 was so they´d easily be able to defund ObamaCare. Boehner has refused to ever hold a standalone up or down vote to defund O´Care. Secondly, Boehner has ignored his constitutional duty to hold a vote to approve O´Care as a tax. John Roberts only said it was legal as a tax. It can´t be used as such unless approved by the House. It never was. ObamaCare is illegal.

The White House’s explanation of why so many “children” are crossing our southern border recently is that the violence in Central America drove them here. Also, as usual, Bush is to blame: in 2008 President Bush signed a law “to prevent immigration officials from inadvertently sending [children] back to pimps and drug violence”. On July 5, the Los Angeles Times published an article by Brian Bennett. Using data obtained from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Bennett reported as follows. “The increase has been dramatic.
