New Jersey will provide Nutley $2.75 million in transitional aid, intended to replace taxes lost to Roche´s Clifton/Nutley campus closure, Nutley Revenue and Finance Commissioner Thomas Evans announced. "All the people were frantic," Evans said Wednesday. "I´ve been working for many months to address the [the loss of Roche tax revenue], and we were successful in receiving transitional aid." Comments:
Having killed the goose that laid the golden egg, Trenton flips Nutley a little consolation prize. Property owners are in process of demolishing the campus so as to lower the property tax burden. Portrait of the business climate in the "business-friendly" Northeast.

Or the liberals are moving to business friendly states so they can repeat voting for business-killing liberal politicians. We have 2 from NJ moving into our Texas neighborhood this month - going to nullify a few conservative votes, complain about how hot it is here in the summer, but keep their traps shut about how they are not paying ANY income tax here in Texas.

The Washington Redskins have stuck with their name and logo for years, despite ardent and escalating protests by Native American organizations and their supporters. Even the U.S. Patent Office weighed in this year, calling the logo “disparaging.” Now, Franklin Lakes is thinking about changing its own longstanding depiction of a Native American on its letterhead, business cards, vehicles and website. But this time, it’s the Ramapough Lenape Nation — the closest tribe to the borough — that is objecting. “There is a vast difference between using a dignified image that represents the native people and using a logo that shows a caricature

Fort Sill, Okla. - A Republican congresswoman from Tennessee said the U.S. should cut aid to countries that are home to thousands of children who have crossed the border illegally to pay for the cost of caring for them. Rep. Marsha Blackburn made the comments Saturday after touring a temporary shelter at the Fort Sill Army Post near Lawton where more than 1,100 of the children are housed. Republican Rep. Jim Bridenstine of Oklahoma also toured the facility. Blackburn said Central American countries that the child immigrants are fleeing should be forced to bear the cost of paying for them

On April 1, the U.S. economy dropped a whopping 2.9 percent for the first three months of the year (no fooling). The American workforce participation rate fell to a 40-year low. One-third of people aged 18-29 have moved back in with their parents. Millions of Americans this summer will enjoy yet another “staycation”: They just can’t afford to go to the beach or the mountains, even for a week — again. It was two weeks before news was reported on the sole child death acknowledged by the Obama administration, Gilberto Ramos, a 15 year-old boy from Guatemala whose body was found in the Texas brush dead from the
