Back to Africa? For some African-
Americans, the answer is yes

Christian Science Monitor, by Chris Stein

Accra, Ghana — Jimmy Thorne says that relocating to Ghana is one of the best moves he’s ever made. It doesn’t matter if he, an African-American, gets called “obroni,” the local word for white person, in the streets, or if some of his family can’t quite figure out what he’s doing in this West African nation so far from his roots in North Carolina. (Snip) Whether motivated by love, money, or the desire to rekindle a long-lost connection, black repatriation to Africa remains alive and well, even if it never quite became the high-volume, emotional return to African roots

Best answer was given by Mohammed Ali. Coming back from a heavyweight title fight in Zaire, he was asked by Howard Cosell, "Well champ how was Africa?" His reply "I sure am glad my grandaddy got on that boat".

I´ve known a few Africans, from Africa, through my life and they always mentioned how ridiculous American blacks are for thinking they have it so tough here. They don´t put up with that kind of talk when they hear it so I doubt the Africans over there will be sympathetic. They have to gripe about.

More Africans came to the US voluntarily than were ever brought against their will as slaves. In fact, we reached that point in 1972.

I once worked with a black guy who, in his previous job, was sent to Africa on some sort of project. I got talking to him about that, if he liked it, etc., not so much him being black but just as tourist sort of thing. He said he hated it, and the people there hated him because they didn´t think he was black (he was not African black, but not too light either) and treated him very poorly. I asked him what he thought about that, and he said it was just weird.

Perhaps most excruciating for him was to discover that his face not his skin color was nearly the death of him several times. In America Blacks who have never been to Africa don´t realize that it would be EASY to find out where their ancestors came from...every African judges another by Tribal Resemblance alone...and many will kill you just for that alone.

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security.
