Reclusive movie star Doris Day greeted fans with a rare smile and a wave from her balcony on Thursday as she rang in her 90th birthday. The Oscar-nominee appeared in great spirits as she made the rather regal gesture from her home in Carmel-by-the-Sea, on California´s north coast - a quiet little enclave also home to Clint Eastwood - the first time she´s been seen in public since 2008. After opening up to Closer Weekly about her milestone birthday, revealing she´s still very much in demand, with scripts pouring in all the time, the silver-haired beauty appeared as sprightly as

Comments:
What a lady - and she always has been! No desperate attempts to improve on natures gifts or stall their natural progression through grotesque plastic surgery for this Lady. And she´s still beautiful at 90!

My reaction to seeing pictures of her in earlier years . . . I really miss those days, ( and I was a child then).

Yes, she is still lovely.

What a beautiful woman who´s lived a remarkable life. She has been a godsend, for many years, to abandoned, homeless, helpless and abused animals. She is one hell of a woman - as an actress, singer and humanitarian. It´s great to know she´s still enjoying her life; she certainly deserves it.

The thing about her movies was that she always seemed so happy in them, and she made you happy watching them, and then when she did a telephone interview recently, she talked about how much fun everyone had making the movies, so we was happy - she wasn´t acting at all. Her movies were so much fun and always a happy ending or so it seemed.

#5, I, too, loved all of Doris Day´s movies and I really hate to throw water on anybody´s illusions, but in the interest of reality and because I´m so incensed at the homosexual Nazis over the Brendan Eich assassination, I am going to do something I don´t usually do, (yeah, sure,) gossip.

About Rock Hudson; although they did some really good movies together and all the publicity was that they were great friends and maybe even more, they were not. As far as I know they did not actively dislike each other, but they were not close in any way other than as co-stars. Hudson was a flaming homosexual and made no attempt to conceal it outside the movies and, in fact, lived a wildly promiscuous life. The studio system was able to keep it undercover until he died of AIDS and photos of his ravaged face were widely published.

As for Cary Grant, another of her co-stars, he was also openly homosexual. Again, the studio system was able to keep it quite and the fan magazines willingly went along with it. His significant other, husband, boyfriend or whatever you want to call him, was the cowboy actor, Randolph Scott. They lived together in Beverley Hills for about 13 years.

I still love their movies, though, and both were fine actors.

Hollywood is the illusion machine. What you see on the screen is not necessarily real. The thing about Doris Day, however, is that she is as nice in person as she was on the screen. As they say in the vernacular, she´s one of the classics.

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security.
