Charles Koch: ´Collectivists’
Promise Heaven, Deliver Hell

Breitbart Big Government, by Staff

Original Article

In an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, Charles Koch explains his efforts to secure a free society for Americans against the forces of Big Government and collectivism: I have devoted most of my life to understanding the principles that enable people to improve their lives. It is those principles—the principles of a free society—that have shaped my life, my family, our company and America itself. Unfortunately, the fundamental concepts of dignity, respect, equality before the law and personal freedom are under attack by the nation´s own government. That´s why, if we want to restore a free society and create

If the Koch´s really want to be "dangerous" and a bane to the enemies of liberty, they would use their resources to help coalesce the myriad conservative splinter groups into a new conservative political party.

Brother Charles is stating his case using his First Amendment right of free speech, which so many of the left deem outmoded unless it´s their own point of view. Very refreshing to hear him give word to his and other brother´s philosophy, and heartening to know how many people live and work because of this philosophy.

FTA: “Unfortunately, the fundamental concepts of dignity, respect, equality before the law and personal freedom are under attack by the nation´s own government. That´s why, if we want to restore a free society and create greater well-being and opportunity for all Americans, we have no choice but to fight for those principles.”

#1 is spot on. We are in dire need of an opposition party that is willing to defend consistently the personal freedom that once made the USA the beacon of liberty. Sadly, the current Republican Party leadership supports gigantic government as much as the Socialist Democrats, and are complicit in the perpetuation of the downward spiral of our economy and culture with their willingness to bow to the idol of bi-partisanship.

We can no longer give the GOP the benefit of the doubt by calling them the “stupid party.” These people are not stupid or they would not have been able to rise within the ranks of the Cartel Party. If they cannot effectively convey the principles of equality before the law and personal freedom, it is because they do not believe or hold those principles. We know from recent experience that they certainly know how to fight political battles, because conservative Americans who organized under the “Don’t Tread On Me” banner were the targets of lies and vitriol emanating from the very people we once supported with our time, treasure, and votes.

Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and others have proven that boldly speaking the truth and offering a clear and concrete alternative to overbearing government will resonate with the people. Give the voters a real choice in political philosophy and they will respond accordingly. We want more than just an argument on who would better manage the decline.

The Queen(#4)is correct. Since the French Revolution, a progressive impulse, anchored in collectivism and statism, has been ascendant in the West. Our Founders, particularly Adams and Madison, grasped this pernicious threat and warned us. But the Civil War, as do all wars, concentrated enormous power in the Executive; forever altering the original vision, legacy and temperament of our Founders. We are far worse for it.
The political beneficiaries were initially the R´s and now the D´s who are both consumed by lust for power and greed for wealth. Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come. Most certainly the idea of our current corrupt parties is long gone.

“So far this year, Republicans in Congress have blocked every serious idea to strengthen the middle class.” –President Obama, weekly address, July 12, 2014 ~This has become a standard line in the president’s oratory, as part of making his case that he’s “acted this year to help working Americans on my own– when Congress won’t act.” The president started on this path on June 27, during a speech in Minnesota: “You know, sometimes I’m forcibly, you know, politic about how I say things, but I’m finding lately that I just want to say what’s on my mind. In the beginning of the 2009 flu season, Barack Obama declared the H1N1 swine flu a national emergency. By October of that year 1,000 people had already died, and according to the president there was the threat of a pandemic. In order to hasten treatment and convince Americans to line up like lemmings for a flu shot, Obama gave former Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius a one-time authorization to bypass standard federal regulations to quickly respond to the outbreak. The president repeatedly warned the public that a pandemic was approaching, and that the numbers of people getting sick

Protests from local elected officials in Maryland this weekend forced the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) to cancel its plans to send illegal immigrant children to an Army Reserve center in Westminster, which is about 35 miles from Baltimore. Maryland Democrat Gov. Martin O´Malley said illegal immigrant children flooding across the border should be considered "refugees" and all be given asylum status, but after Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) publicized the federal government´s last-minute plans to sneak illegal immigrant children into Maryland, there was considerable blowback. HHS backed off, citing things like insufficient access to drinking water at the facility.
