I Fought the Law and I Won
Politico, by Shaun McCutcheon

Original Article

I have been repairing things since I was a kid. When I was in high school, I fixed many motorcycles, electronics and cars. My next-door neighbor was a man named Honest John. He was a used-car dealer in downtown Birmingham. I was low-cost help for him. And I got the work done. Since then, I have been getting things done in workshops and production operations all over the United States and around the world. Now I’m an electrical engineer, and I run a successful small business near Birmingham, Alabama. That engineer’s mindset has guided my political activity, including the decision to

It must suck to be a democrat in today´s world. They are losing their ability to allow their constituents to vote multiple time with voter ID. They lost this court case, so their fat cat union money will be diluted, a little. And the money limit scam they pulled on the republicans, back in 2002, has been wiped out. Obamacare is a world class disaster, and they cannot divert attention away from what looks to be another 2010 election result.

I hope their year gets worse.

Win a lawsuit to get money back from these vultures and you might impress me. Giving money to a politician is about the easiest thing in the world.

As I´ve said for many years, campaign finance laws are meant for Democratic incumbents and/or crooks to stay in office. The politicians who yell the loudest about this decision will demonstrate my point. Watch and learn, folks.

I blame John McCain for many things, but #2 on the blame list is his demented pursuit of reforming the way political campaigns are financed. He created this mess and it´s taking forever to eliminate the evil roots of his success.

Technology problems at IRS goes far

Lois G. Lerner’s hard drive isn’t the only technological problem at the Internal Revenue Service. The tax agency’s inspector general has been warning for years of lost computer equipment, lax security that could place private taxpayers’ information at risk, and mishandled information technology contracts that wasted tens of millions of dollars. The reports are being disclosed as the IRS says its technology budget is strapped for cash, one reason the agency didn’t have a backup system to store all of Ms. Lerner’s emails that are the subject of a congressional investigation. “We are provided significant amounts of money but significantly less than we

Why Seinfeld is still master of its domain

Seinfeld premiered 25 years ago this week — but even the most dedicated viewers of its era probably missed its inaugural episode. Dumped in a graveyard slot as a mid-summer replacement, the series (which was then titled The Seinfeld Chronicles) was given just four episodes to justify its existence when it hit the airwaves in 1989. From those inauspicious origins came Seinfeld, the sitcom juggernaut that served as appointment viewing for more than 76 million Americans at its peak. Even in syndication, Seinfeld remains master of its domain; though it hasn´t produced a new episode since 1998, the series has earned

You know the saying: Go big or go home. And we all know they’re not going home. How does “unilateral legalization for all illegals” grab you? [I]n the wake of Obama’s Monday Rose Garden speech vowing unilateral action, some reformers want the president to go far beyond a limited expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, to essentially legalize the millions of undocumented immigrants who would be eligible for work permits under the bill passed by the Senate last summer. “The administration has unquestionable legal authority to provide all those who would qualify for citizenship under the bipartisan Senate Bill

A study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences revealed on the weekend that in January of 2012, Facebook manipulated the feeds of 689,003 English language users, making slight alterations to see if they could change the large scale mood of the populace. The answer was a resounding yes, a terrifying and appalling yes. The most obvious scandal here is that Facebook is willing, just to see how strong it really is, to

Soldiers who served with Bowe Bergdahl

U.S. Army soldiers who were serving with Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl when he left his post and wound up in the hands of the Taliban say no one has contacted them, even though military brass are currently conducting a new investigation into the case. Several soldiers who immediately came forward after Bergdahl was released on May 31, in a swap for five Guantanamo Bay detainees, have accused the 28-year-old Idaho native of deserting. But even though the Army is probing that very charge, investigators have not reached out to at least two former Army sergeants — including the platoon’s leader — who

The Wendy Davis campaign is having a tough time convincing Texas voters that she would make a good governor, and the video above might be a good reason why – they couldn’t name a single legislative accomplishment of hers. They sound just like Hillary Clinton supporters! Liberals were infuriated when a conservative labeled Davis the “Abortion Barbie” for the way she was glamorously glorified after filibustering a Texas bill that would have raised medical standards at abortion clinics. Ironically, that’s the only thing a supporter mentions in the interviews, made outside the 2014 Texas Democrat Convention. Recent polls have Davis

The joke’s on you! A baby in a photo chosen by Nazis as the perfect Aryan baby has been revealed to in fact be Jewish, not German. Hessy Taft, who was 6 months old when the picture was taken, found out about the photograph after an aunt recognized her on a postcard, the Telegraph reports. But apparently the Nazis had no idea that the precious baby they deemed the “perfect Aryan” was actually a descendant of the House of David. Taft lived with her parents, Jacob and Pauline Levinsons, in Berlin during the height of the Nazis’ takeover in 1935. While anti-Semitic attacks were taking

Japan on Tuesday announced a reinterpretation of its pacifist post-World War II Constitution that allows the country´s military to help defend the United States and other allies. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said the decision by the Cabinet to adjust the interpretation from one that limited the armed forces to defending Japan was necessary because of regional changes. The decision allows Japan´s forces to help protect U.S. ships that may come under attack in nearby waters, Abe said. "This will be a deterrent," he said during a news conference. At least eight universities, including four public institutions, have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for Hillary Rodham Clinton to speak on their campuses over the past year, sparking a backlash from some student groups and teachers at a time of austerity in higher education. In one previously undisclosed transaction, the University of Connecticut — which just raised tuition by 6.5 percent — paid $251,250 for Clinton to speak on campus in April. Other examples include $300,000 to address UCLA in March and $225,000 for a speech scheduled to occur in October at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.

Two years ago, I broke up with Facebook. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done. Like any big break up, I had complex reasons, but the biggest was that I simply did not trust Facebook. The relationship started out with the euphoria of new love, but over the years turned to something resembling abuse. Facebook eerily insists on invading your life. It insinuates itself into your phone, it peeps through your contacts, wants to know your location. It tracks you even when you’re not on Facebook. Then it sells you to the highest bidder. So it is with countries. (Snip)I am no historian, but I have one such moment in mind. It was when The New Republic’s senior editor Jonathan Chait wrote in 2003, “I hate President George W. Bush.”

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say. In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp.
