09.05 The Telegraph Travel desk have stepped up with hybrid seabeast the Manaphin, a stuffed ferret, green skyscrapers, and the chance to book a stay at MI6. As if whiskery, sea cows were not already odd-looking beasts, PRs for the St. Pete/Clearwater coastal region of Florida have claimed the “long-extinct manaphin” has been found on its shores--a hybrid mammal that apparently sports the nose of a manatee (sea cow) and the body of a dolphin. 08.59 News from North Korea where Kim Jong-un, after insisting the whole nation copy his haircut (probably untrue), has banned popular beat combo One Direction

What troubles me about some of these April Fool jokes is the fact some liberal somewhere will take one seriously. He/she will seek and receive taxpayer funding to spread the message. The next thing you know we will be sending children to Iran for a 5 month student exchange.

Don´t doubt me, folks!

Ok, you can doubt me but just a little

GOP Rep. on immigration crisis:

Addressing the ongoing immigration crisis involving tens of thousands of undocumented women and children who have crossed the U.S.-Mexico border, Republican Congressman Raul Labrador said Sunday that what this administration needs to do is clear: “deport these families, these children.” [Snip] Appearing on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Senator Lindsey Graham echoed his Republican colleague saying, “We have to send them back, because if you don’t you’re going to incentivize people throughout that part of the world to keep sending their children here.” Graham also added, “This is a specific problem created by an impression that if you get to America

The defunct Occupy Wall Street´s legacy, in part, was bringing the term "one percent" into the lexicon. The term targeted the rich, who apparently weren´t paying their fair share to society. Gene Simmons begs to differ. In fact, the Kiss mainstay and proud one percenter says the country would be in shambles without that unfairly maligned group. [Snip] What’s it like being part of the 1 percent? “It’s fantastic!” he replied. “The 1 percent pays 80 percent of all taxes. Fifty percent of the population of the U.S. pays no taxes. The 1 percent provides all the jobs for everybody else.

The Australian Government has ignored calls from the opposition and human rights groups who say they fear for the lives of 41 asylum seekers who were turned around and sent back to Sri Lanka on Sunday. Immigration Minister Scott Morrison has received a lashing for his handling of the issue from all sides of government, including former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser who said the return of asylum seekers at sea was similar to how Jews were treated by the Nazis back in the 1930s. The news has also outraged Labor frontbencher Penny Wong who has hit out at Mr Morrison´s ´brief

David Cameron has been pressed by senior Tories to introduce a limit on the number of migrants allowed into Britain from poorer European Union nations. [Snip] The move will infuriate Brussels officials by proposing to effectively rip up the EU’s cherished principle of “free movement” for all citizens. But it is said to have attracted support from figures at the highest levels in the Conservative Party and is seen as a sure-fire vote-winner for next year’s general election. Tory backbencher Nigel Evans last night said: “We cannot have an open-door policy where everybody from poor EU countries can come and

Amid calls for expanding the nation´s temporary skilled worker program, some Americans are pushing back. They argue the so-called H-1B program has been hijacked by staffing companies that import cheaper, lower-level workers to replace more expensive U.S. employees. Lawsuits have cropped up around the country. And some tech worker groups are calling for a boycott of firms that they say are ignoring qualified U.S. workers. [Snip] Experts say at least 600,000 are here at any one time. An immigration bill passed in the U.S. Senate last year would have increased the number of annually available H-1B visas to 180,000 and

The US has declared that it will not allow mobile phones--especially iPhones and Samsung´s Galaxy - onto US bound planes from some airports in Europe, the Middle East and Africa if the devices are not charged. The new measure, which is bound to cause chaotic scenes at airports around the globe, is part of the US Transportation Security Administration´s effort to boost surveillance amid concerns that terrorists are plotting to blow up an airliner. As part of the increased scrutiny at certain airports, security agents may ask travelers to turn on their electronic devices at checkpoints and if they do

Sometimes it is hard to reconcile freedom and security: one can come at the expense of the other. As millions of British families head abroad for the holidays, they are likely to face long queues at airports thanks to the United States’ call for heightened security measures. Terrorists are thought to be targeting transatlantic flights. Sir Malcolm Rifkind, the head of the intelligence and security committee, has received briefings on the nature of the threat posed and writes that these measures are not an overreaction but unavoidable. That, at least, was (and still is) the plan: to ring the death-knell of a political career, started at 18, which brought this brash son of a Hungarian émigré to the leadership of the party founded by General de Gaulle, then to the Presidency of the French Republic in 2007, at the age of

For an intelligence service, losing an agent is the second worst thing that can happen. The worst thing, of course, is losing one of your own officers. In that context, for America, the news from Germany is far from ideal. On Friday, we learnt that the German government has apparently arrested one of its intelligence officers for spying for the United States. The suspect, a 31-year-old employee of the BND (Germany´s rough equivalent to the UK-SIS or US-CIA), has apparently confessed. Uncomfortably for Obama, the German press is reporting that the accused may have provided information on a parliamentary inquiry examining

The districts of Now Zad, Musa Qala and Sangin have been overrun by insurgents after British troops withdrew to the security of Camp Bastion--the last remaining UK base in the province. The Obamas have spent over 44 million dollars in taxpayer money on travel and vacations. Some are even calling him the “most well-trvaeled, expensive” president in our nation’s history. As Americans head off for the long holiday weekend, let’s take a look back at some of the president’s holiday spending. Our president vacations a lot — we’re talking $44,351,777.12 worth of “a lot,” with most expenses charged to the American taxpayer. As of March 2014, Obama has spent more time traveling internationally than any other president, taking 31 trips since assuming office in 2009. The 119 days spent overseas have

It is a heartwarming tale about how the mainstream media and Democratic Party suckered America into electing their extreme far-left dream president – a Trojan Horse in the form of a black man.

President Obama has quietly promised Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren complete support if she runs for president — a stinging rebuke to his nemesis Hillary Clinton, sources tell me. Publicly, Obama has remained noncommittal on the 2016 race, but privately he worries that Clinton would undo and undermine many of his policies. There’s also a personal animosity, especially with Bill Clinton, that dates from their tough race six years ago. A former Harvard law professor and administration aide, Warren would energize the left wing of the Democrat Party just as Obama did against Clinton in 2008. Thanks to her outspoken stand against big banks

When the German botanist Philipp von Siebold sent a variety of plant specimens to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew in August 1850, he had no idea what he was unleashing on the world. Among the various floral and tuberous growths he dispatched was a plant which, 164 years later, is leaving a trail of mayhem all across the planet. It goes by the name of Japanese knotweed, or Fallopia japonica. It presents a pleasing appearance to the eye: heart-shaped leaves, bamboo stems and pretty, little white-flower tassels. What is less obvious is this plant’s relentless killer instinct. Look through the

The vast majority of 50,000 unaccompanied youths and children who have illegally crossed the Texas border during the last few months have been successfully delivered by federal agencies to their relatives living in the United States, according to a New York Times article. A second New York Times article report revealed that officials have caught an additional 240,000 Central American migrants since April, and are transporting many of them to their destinations throughout the United States. The 290,000 illegals — so far — are exploiting legal loopholes that allow them to get temporary permits to stay in the United States. Experts say that

Would you buy a bargain-priced airline ticket, but the catch was you had to stand for the entire flight? A new university study says the idea of standing-only sections on planes is no joke. An airline that removes seats can fit about 20% more passengers and, as a result, offer discounts of as much as 44% compared with airlines that offer big comfy seats, according to the study published in the International Journal of Engineering and Technology. Airlines in Ireland and China have looked into the concept, but none have yet put the idea into practice. Major carriers in the

Scientists believe the gene that causes red hair is an evolutionary response to cloudy skies and allows inhabitants to get as much Vitamin D as possible. But if predictions of rising temperatures and blazing sunshine across the British Isles turn out to be correct, flaming red heads could cease to exist within centuries. While only 1% to 2% of the world’s population are ginger, in the north of the UK, where the weather tends to
