In Kentucky, Obamacare´s success did
nothing to change the politics of the law

Yahoo News, by Perry Bacon Jr.

FRANKFORT, Ky. — In one of the poorest areas of Appalachia, about 2,500 people have signed up to get health insurance over the last six months — a number that represents more than a tenth of Clay County’s residents. One-hundred-and-twenty miles way, the county’s state senator, Robert Stivers, is laying out his plans to gradually gut the Affordable Care Act in Kentucky, which provided his constituents with insurance. The soft-spoken 52-year-old Republican is hardly a fiery Tea Party type: He first joined the state Legislature in 1997 and slowly rose through the ranks to become the state Senate president. And these 2,500 poor people who now have Obamacare insurance...Did they not have Medicaid or Medicare before? That might be a useful fact to mention in this article, along with how many people lost their insurance plans.
FTA: "Kentucky´s implementation of the Affordable Care Act has been wildy successful."
And yet those nasty Republicans want to gut Obamacare.

Just a little biased reporting here from Perry and Yahoo.

I´m guessing that each of those 2,500 people with Øvomitcare are costing the taxpayers of this country about $1,000,000 each in subsidies. And the 2,500 are getting useless "insurance" in the process.

But, hey, I guess it´s depends on what your definition of "success" is...

Obamacare from my vantage point I see:
30 million uninsured same as before,
those who have signed up are more likely paying higher premiums, higher deductibles, probably had to change doctors and hospitels.

So we tip the cart up side down so 90% get zapped and the 10 remains uninsured!

Only in American this be called a success!

Time for big government changes, incedently now we are harashing cows! Give me break!

Dinesh D’Souza faces more than a year in prison for giving away his money. Guilt lies with the law and not the lawbreaker here. The conservative author pled guilty to violating campaign finance laws, which is another way of saying he opened up a lemonade stand without a license or ripped the tag off a mattress. The case stems from D’Souza’s 2012 donations through intermediaries to a friend’s senatorial campaign. Congress, made up of incumbents, has placed restrictions of dubious constitutionality on the amount individuals can legally donate to candidates. They haven’t, tellingly, placed any such limits on what they can

During Friday’s cup of Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough took issue with Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller‘s claim that some opposition to the Affordable Care Act is driven by hatred of President Obama‘s race. Rockefeller made such an accusation Thursday during a tense exchange with Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) over the health care legislation. The Democratic legislator said that many people oppose the law “because they don’t like the president, maybe he’s the wrong color.” Johnson immediately jumped in to blast his colleague for playing the “race card.” Scarborough agreed, telling his fellow panelists: I have been behind closed doors with thousands of conservatives

In an interview broadcast live on CNBC on Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin mocked President Barack Obama for criticizing Russia’s role in the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Putin drew laughs from the audience when he dismissed Obama’s criticism, saying that Obama should “get a job on court somewhere” if he intends to judge Russia. Putin was asked to respond to Obama’s accusation that Putin had been telling “untruths” when he denies Russia’s involvement in instigating the bloody crisis in Ukraine. “Who is he to judge?” Putin asked. “He wants to judge people, why doesn’t he get a job on a court

Prince Rupert zu Loewenstein, a Bavarian aristocrat and money manager who guided the Rolling Stones to riches and through financial crises — helping to elevate them to an economic behemoth — without ever acquiring a taste for rock music, died on Tuesday in London. He was 80. His friend Hugo Vickers confirmed the death, The Associated Press reported. Prince Loewenstein had Parkinson’s disease. Prince Loewenstein masterminded the Stones’ release from a contract that had left them playing concerts and making records for almost nothing. He successfully urged them to leave England, initially for the south of France, to escape high taxes. He

“My position was straightforward,” Glenn Greenwald writes. “By ordering illegal eavesdropping, the president had committed crimes and should be held accountable for them.” You break the law, you pay the price: It’s that simple. But it’s not that simple, as Greenwald must know. There are laws against government eavesdropping on American citizens, and there are laws against leaking official government documents. You can’t just choose the laws you like and ignore the ones you don’t like. Or perhaps you can, but you can’t then claim that it’s all very straightforward.

President Obama is taking a swipe at the Founding Fathers, blaming his inability to move his agenda on the “disadvantage” of having each state represented equally in the Senate. At a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, Mr. Obama told a small group of wealthy supporters that there are several hurdles to keeping Democrats in control of the Senate and recapturing the House. One of those problems, he said, is the apportionment of two Senate seats to each state regardless of population. “Obviously, the nature of the Senate means that California has the same number of Senate seats as Wyoming.
