´Mystery aircraft´ over Texas draws
speculation of real spy plane

Houston Chronicle, by Carol Christian

(Tweet, Photographs) If the unidentified aircraft photographed over Amarillo turns out to be a new U.S. spy plane, it wouldn´t be the first time. Aviation Week & Space Technology journalist Bill Sweetman has posted photos taken March 10 by two veteran sky watchers, Steve Douglass and Dean Muskett. In his blog post of March 28, Sweetman writes that he and two Aviation Week editors agree that the photos depict "something real." In other words, these pictures aren´t easily explained away by reports of known military flights or the work of someone who got carried away with Photoshop. So what can aviation

Before any aircraft is fit for production, it must undergo tests inflight. And this comes as a surprise to reporters?

You can be certain of one thing: it´s not THAT highly classified if they´re flying in daytime, or at least it´s existence isn´t classified anymore.

It wouldn´t even be seen outside of it´s hangar during daylight hours if it were.

I´d guess it´s a UCAV variant or something similar. Wish they´d gotten a picture of the other aircraft. It´s in a ´loose trail´ formation with something else. That would help answer the question.

A Mexican military helicopter is shaking up the immigration debate. On Thursday, the chopper was conducting a drug-related operation and crossed the border into Arizona. Then – in U.S. airspace – it fired two shots at border patrol agents. KOVA News4 reports: The incident occurred west of the San Miguel Gate on the Tohono O’odham Indian Nation. The agents were unharmed. The helicopter went back into Mexico. Mexico then contacted U.S. authorities and apologized for the incident. While it’s fortunate that no one was injured or worse, the fact that something like this was even possible raises more “real time”

Things got a bit awkward for CNBC’s Squawk on the Street when one of the show’s co-hosts accidentally “outed” Apple CEO Tim Cook as being gay. New York Times columnist James R. Stewart joined the panel to discuss his latest piece profiling John Browne, the former CEO of BP, and his “tortured life” living as the gay chief executive of a Fortune 500 company. “You’d think CEOs especially are measured by objective criteria, financial performance,” Stewart said, and yet there’s a corporate culture that prevents powerful gay men from going public. “There are gay CEOs in major companies, and I

MINNEAPOLIS–President Obama says he’s been itching to “say what’s on my mind” about Republicans in Washington. And today on the banks of Lake Harriet he let loose, turning an official event on the economy into a rally for Democrats in the midterm campaign. “So far this year Republicans in Congress have blocked or voted down every single idea to strengthen the middle class,” Obama told a crowd of 3,500. “Don’t boo,” he quipped. “I want you to vote.” Obama accused Republicans of deliberate inaction, of being “tone deaf,” focusing more on elections and “media sound bites” than progress. “They don’t

Albert Spratte, the sergeant-at-arms of the National Border Patrol Council, Local 3307 in the Rio Grande Valley, said the Obama administration is largely to blame for waves of illegal immigrants that have been flooding the Southwest U.S. border since February, saying the government opened the door for the crisis by making it “clear they’re not going to deport people.” Spratte, who was speaking with CNSNews.com as a representative of the union, further said “we don’t have control of the border,” and if the Obama administration claims it is not in effect giving amnesty to the illegals, then “don’t believe them.”

New York City’s newest budget includes enough money to pay the legal fees for about 1,380 illegal immigrants who are detained and facing deportation. Within the budget is a $4.9 million set-aside for the New York Immigrant Family Unity Project, a program that just wrapped a one-year test phase and was deemed a success by City Council, Breitbart reported. Under the program, taxpayers help cover the legal expenses for illegals in jail who should be deported, but are fighting it. The city’s renewal of the plan makes it the first jurisdiction in the nation with a tax-paid disbursement dedicated solely

The Center for Immigration Studies has released a report that should be political dynamite. Since the year 2000, legal and illegal immigrants have taken all new jobs, while native-born Americans have suffered a decline in the numbers employed. Government data show that since 2000 all of the net gain in the number of working-age (16 to 65) people holding a job has gone to immigrants (legal and illegal). This is remarkable given that native-born Americans accounted for two-thirds of the growth in the total working-age population. Though there has been some recovery from the Great Recession, there were still fewer

Lois Lerner, the controversial director of the tax-exempt organizations division at the Internal Revenue Service, has a long sordid history of targeting conservatives. Under the direction of Lois Lerner, the Federal Election Commission sued the Christian Coalition in the 1990s. She harassed the Christian Coalition for three election cycles. Eventually, she lost her case. At one point Lerner even asked a targeted conservative if Pat Robertson prayed over him. (Sound familiar?) In 1996, while at the FEC, Lois Lerner harassed Republican Senate candidate Al Salvi and made him this outrageous offer, “Promise me you will never run for office again, and

Ordinarily, President Obama’s days are planned out to the smallest detail. But for his two-day excursion to Minnesota this week, the president boasted that he’s got little in the way of a formal agenda, has few firm plans, and warned Secret Service that he’s feeling “super loose” and could end up doing any number of things. “I don’t know. Republicans are in the strongest position to win back the Senate since losing it eight years ago. Over several months, the party has expanded its range of targeted seats, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has helped defeat insurgents it didn’t want representing the GOP in the midterm elections. This sober realization came to Democrats on Wednesday, as Tuesday night’s primary results showed they cannot count on Tea Party candidates upsetting more-electable incumbents. And Democrats are increasingly realizing that President Obama’s approval rating will probably remain mired at 45 percent or lower until

This would fly in the face of those who claim that immigration is an economic boon to native born Americans: The CIS report found that over the last 14 years, people who were born in the United States held 114.8 million jobs in 2000, and held 114.7 million jobs in 2014, a drop of 127,000.
