6 Big Unanswered Questions
About Obamacare

Reason Magazine, by Peter Suderman

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 3/29/2014 12:24:14 PM

Obamacare supporters are taking a bit of a victory lap today after yesterday’s administration announcement that six million people have signed up for private plans under the law, equaling the revised projection put out by the Congressional Budget Office after the botched launch of the exchanges last October. It’s a weak cause for celebration, given that success, according to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, was originally "at least" seven million people getting covered under the law by the end of March. And as an Obamacare factoid, the six million sign-ups figure just doesn’t tell us all that much

A huge unanswered (and unasked) question: What happens when the Federal Employee´s Health Benefits Program is determined not to comply with obamacare? I am a retired Federal Employee and like my insurance. Can I and millions of others keep our insurance? A hefty share is paid by my former employer, but I still pay a much higher premium than most would think. My dire forecast is that all current and retired federal employees will lose their insurance when the "second round" comes.

The real question is...

How much longer do we have to put up with O-Bomber... ?

What will things be like starting in January 2015...
with a GOP Senate... ?

Will No-Broehner cry some crocodile tears if House members want to impeach... ?

Will the body politic throw off its pre-existing condition... ?

What is the mental illness category of an Emperor who wears Mom Jeans... ?

Inquiring minds...
awaiting Gerr-Waldo´s answers...
from the vault.

If the people actually make their first payment, will they continue to make monthly payments? If their $400 payment gets you a first doctor visit, but once they started getting treatment they needed to pay the insurance company share until they hit their deductible, are some going to throw up their hands and say this isn´t worth it?

Six million, hey? Independently verified by whom? How many have paid their first premium? How many signed up because they lost their prior insurance due to ObamaCare requirements? This is all smoke and mirrors from the Gang who couldn´t talk straight.

Yo, #1 welcome to our world! Did you do thirty and out retiring at the ripe old age of 52? I am 63 (working since I was 14) and still going. If I retire now I have to buy on the exchange which means a huge deductible and massive out of pocket limits, let alone the premium I will have to pay. Gee,it really sucks to be you. By the way, my doctor of 30 years that I like is not approved.

These fictional numbers are nothing more than soot on the windows of obamacare. Once the windows are cleaned and we can see inside, obamacare will be found to be a big zero, just like its namesake. They will not admit to its colossal failure until they can´t hide it any longer.

We don´t have to be psychiatrists to see human nature. Why would young, healthy people with limited income buy healthcare? They wouldn´t. I waited until I was in my forties to buy it, didn´t use it and dropped it for another ten years. The democrats only choice now is to delay, delay, delay, until after the election, then slap on the big increases and taxpayer-supplied subsidies.

Responding to Reply #1 : David Camp, H of R, from MI has a bill # HR-1780 which would put all CURRENT federal employees into the ACA plan. All those impacted should write this so-called representative of the people and tell him exactly what he should do with his bill. Secondly, Federal retirees are usually covered by Medicare as their primary coverage, and if under the FEHBP, by a secondary insurer ( I am ). The amount of the premium I pay is approx $8400, in addition to the Medicare premium. I believe I have excellent coverage the the LAST THING I want to to be put into is the ACA insurance plan.
Retirees should check out NARFE which is an organization which supports and explains Federal employee retiree rights. Congresspeople did not want to put their OWN
workers into the plan but want to put OTHERS
into it, as long as their own little World is not affected.

In case anyone missed it, be sure to read Obamacare Navigators Helping People Enroll At Mexican Consulates by Kerry Picket on Breitbart.

That should boost those numbers along with the immigrant children they are putting on KidCare.

Why should some have Cadillac coverage while the rest get garbage ? Worst yet, We are paying for it.

Keep in mind that ObamaCare was never about healthcare/health insurance. It´s about controlling the money, and chaos is part of the strategy. The Left are biding their time, waiting for people to beg government to ´fix this healthcare mess.´

Actually, the BIGGEST shock will occur when the public sees how much of the Obamacare premiums are being paid by the taxpayers through the enormous subsidies.

WHY that is NOT being discussed is incredible to me.

People are getting HUGE subsidies otherwise these sign-up numbers would be next to nothing.

WHERE ARE THE TOTALS ? The administration NEVER seems to know, and the media NEVER seems to ask.

All excellent questions...I´m especially concerned about #6--cost/premiums next year and thereafter as this disaster-in-the-making emerges.

Moreover, in addition to cost, will the medical profession continue to experience paperwork and other demands that leave less time for patient care? Will doctors and nurses lose more control over their profession? Will know-nothing ideologues boss them around even more than now?

Contrary to popular belief, not every employee of the federal government rakes in the big bucks and enjoys a carefree retirement at the "ripe old age of 52". Obamacare is the "end game" of the Cloward and Piven strategy. It was never intended to deliver quality health care as advertised. The point is to destroy traditional insurance and replace it with universal government control as "single payer."

The single payer is the taxpayer. The government has no money of its own and no way to actually earn any.

Insurance is, by definition, a scheme in which the cost to the insured is based risk to the insurer. There is no rational nexus between the two in Obamacare.

Nitwit FL congressman Grayson famously ranted, "Republicans want you to die quickly." [Presumably so "republicans" won´t have to pay for healthcare of democrats?]

The real message of Obamacare will come to be understood as, "Vote democratic or we´ll kill you." Or in the words of Robert Reich, "....we are going to let you die."

If the insurance companies want to stay in business they had better advise voters of the probable 2015 rates before November, 2014.

The only question is how long are the American people going to put up with this situation? We ARE the government. It is beyond outrageous that most people want this madness to end, but our so-called representatives aren´t responding to our demands immediately. The very idea that the republicans cannot or will not put a firm, cohesive message together to end Obamacare now is terrifying. When the next wave hits, my family will join the ranks of the financially hobbled. We can kiss our hopes and dreams goodbye unless this law is repealed.

There are no real unanswered questions about Fauxbamacare. It´s been a dog´s breakfast from the get-go and that statement is a smear on Alpo. The real unanswered questions: will the SCOTUS put a wooden stake through its heart? Will the Pubbies take the senate and be sufficiently firm but also sufficiently constructive to hamstring Fauxbama without hurting their chances for 2016? Will the younger voters see how crappy government programs can be and rethink their political allegiances?

Currently employed fed employees have to be on ACA but return to the rich fed plan the moment they retire. What a perfect system for protecting the same people who´ve destroyed our health care access. I hope the people who did this to us, the Democrats only, will be voted out in 2014 and kept out from then on. They care nothing about the people but only about their personal power and corruption!

Here´s my question. Has anyone done an analysis of how much it would cost someone to pay out of pocket for a normal amount of doctor visits and pharmaceuticals? Not to include catastrophic. Just doctors and pharms. I´m not educated in this field, but it makes me wonder if it wouldn´t be more cost effective to just drop insurance and pay out of pocket, provided that no major catastrophes happen.

Is that naive of me?

The problem is we can not now reach fee agreements free of insurance and gov. interference with our medical suppliers.
They are drowning in rules and mandates.
As to costs 15 years ago a vial of insulin was 15.00 dollars in 2006 before the dems took congress it was 30.00 now it´s 115.00 and up.There is no room to bargin -or barter.
Most government retirees were not high salaried and the cost to them is hidden because premiums are taken out of their pensions before the amount is noted. Many think it is free because numbers are not released.
Some of these employees were not even on or can receive Social Security. They worked under inter department retirement rates that leaves them choosing between medical need and necessary funds for even food.
Cast blame on the money grabs by the elected critters and their minions for the theft of our resources not grandpa/ma who held average jobs just like non Gov. workers.

The idea of pulling nearly all American troops out of Afghanistan in 2016 suddenly seems pretty lousy, after so much of Iraq has collapsed under a similar scenario. When President Obama announced his plan to leave Afghanistan by the end of 2016, U.S. intelligence said it could be done safely. Now, intelligence and military leaders are privately warning that the U.S. counterterrorism forces could be needed there for much longer. How does one explain the plummeting poll numbers for Barack Obama? Most people would point to the disarray and consequences of ObamaCare, the IRS scandal, the border crisis, the collapse of Iraq, the VA scandal, the impotent reaction to Russia’s seizure of Crimea, chronic long-term unemployment, and a host of nonsensical distractions staged by the White House to distract from all of the above and more. Last month, polls showed a majority of Americans thought Obama lacked the necessary leadership for his job, and rated his competence below that of George W. Bush at a similar point in their presidencies.

This may come as a shock, but only 55 million years ago, our planet had no polar ice caps; in fact, it nearly became a steamy, runaway greenhouse world, with CO2 levels exceeding 2,500 ppm. Then, all of a sudden, something intervened, causing a shift. Atmospheric carbon dioxide began to drop, steadily generating today´s world, with ice caps at both poles. But why did this happen? And better yet, could whatever triggered this drastic switch be used to temper today´s climate? Good questions. But the answers lay buried deep in the Arctic, hidden to researchers. The Obama administration quietly announced on Tuesday that it intends to change the way Americans learn about natural disasters and other major emergencies during radio and TV broadcasts, giving the president the ability to flip a switch and address the entire nation at once. The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. [Snip] It can take up to 10 minutes for every radio, TV, cable and satellite provider to

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that

President Obama is known for being competitive on the basketball court, but he´s also apparently a cutthroat pool player. Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on Sunday that the president surprised him by beat him in two consecutive games. To add insult to injury, the two were playing at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, a bar that Hickenlooper co-founded. "You know I´ll tell ya -- the man is a shark," Hickenlooper told reporters, Time reports. "I was up a few balls. I felt pretty good. I was actually wondering whether how hard should I --
