A quiet coup ratchets up
the propaganda quotient in education
with Advanced Placement exams

American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

While alarm bells are loudly ringing over the Common Core, a much quieter, yet potentially devastating, coup is underway, enabling the progressives to subvert secondary education. In classic leftist fashion, the vehicle chosen to propagandize our youth into seeing America as a fundamentally racist, unworthy, and unfair society in need of “fundamental transformation” revolves around a wealthy non-profit organization that enjoys a near-monopoly on a prestige-generating market niche. The Heartland Institute alerts us to what’s going on, as the College Board Advanced Placement Examination is being turned into a vehicle to denigrate American History.

More Bullying by the Left... to indoctrinate America´s young people toward socialism/ communism (which if you look at Europe, means eventual vulnerability to Islam). What this indoctrination would do becomes clear if you read Ayn Rand´s tiny book Anthem... shades of "1984." Stop reaching across the aisle and start fighting for future freedom!

More indoctrination from the left. I believe there is a new school of thought which advances the belief that the founding fathers really would have preferred an aristocracy, strict social delineations, etc., thus further eroding their stature. Liberal leftists are strangers to the truth, best friends with deceitful propaganda.

As a Libertarian Agnostic I have never (until recently) had a problem with the idea that "Progressives" simply see a happier and healthier civilization wherein collectivist policies control the body politic.

I don´t agree... but the notion of collectivism is very comforting to many people and is, therefore, understandable.

How-freakin´-ever.....the words and actions and posturing of the contemporary "Left" lead me to re-examine my non-religiosity.

It appears that there may, in fact, be a devil in the wood pile.

I hate to admit it but some people appear to be just.....evil.

Which would tend to imply that there may be a God.

As a middle school history teacher, I have watched the onward march of progressives to destroy the study of the foundations of our nation by revisionist criminalizing of all Europeans who explored the world, thus founding colonies that brought Western ideas, philosophies, and progress to billions of people.

And those lesson have been effective too. When studying Columbus and the Columbian Exchange, it is stunning how many students will actually blame the Europeans for killing so many American Indians with disease. It takes a lot of conversation, comparisons, and examples to show them that regardless of who discovered the Americas, the outcome from the epidemic of diseases for which the Indians had no immunity would have been the same - even in the modern era.

The other major problem in our schools is the continuing focus on feelings. Students almost always begin a sentence with ´I feel´ rather than ´I think.´ It is a process that I work on constantly as I demand to know what they think rather than what they feel. Feelings are far less relevant to the study of history than the application of thought. That is the true crime in American education today.

Between the Pearson company and the College Board, our children are being force fed a steady diet of leftist, progressive pablum masquerading as high thought and achievement. And they are making billions of dollars doing it.

Who will stand up to stop it?

The conservative commentators who advocated a “path to citizenship” after the 2012 election bear partial blame for the current wave of illegal immigrants from Central America. Many of those who advocated for amnesty following the 2012 election are now complaining that people indeed came expecting that amnesty. But there is also an unbelievably bad policy at the root of the problem. The William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008 is the awful piece of legislation that is allowing tens of thousands of illegal aliens to be released and remain in America while awaiting “deportation hearings” that we all
