Time to Break Out the RICO

Thanks to my friend and colleague Ed Driscoll for his plug today regarding my phrase, “a criminal organization masquerading as a political party.” As Ed notes, I first coined this handy explanation for everything Democratic over at National Review, in my alter-ego guise of “David Kahane,” in my world-famous parody essay, “I Still Hate You, Sarah Palin.” (Snip) Some of it is worth revisiting today: I don’t know why I’m telling you this, but maybe now you’re beginning to understand the high-stakes game we’re playing here. This ain’t John McCain’s logrolling senatorial club any more. This is a deadly serious attempt

FTA: This is a deadly serious attempt to realize the vision of the 1960s and to fundamentally transform the United States of America. This is the fusion of Communist dogma, high ideals, gangster tactics, and a stunning amount of self-loathing. For the first time in history, the patrician class is deliberately selling its own country down the river just to prove a point: that, yes, we can!

If that doesn´t perfectly describe the Obama and the DNC I don´t know what does. Other than the impeachment of Obama, nothing in the world would give me more satisfaction. Also stated in the article This requires a new attorney general "When and if the GOP ever gets its act together and actually wins another national election." I would love to see Andrew McCarthy and Mark Levin think about this.

Those who have and continue to destroy this country should pay for their heinous crimes and it should serve as notice they this will never happen again. One can only hope.

I forgot to include, even if the Republicans did win and there is a new attorney general, the GOP would need to be infused with fresh blood and elect more individuals like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Trey Gowdy, Jim Jordan, etc. Otherwise, nothing will change because the establishment Republicans have neither the will nor the spine to pursue such an action.

Has the Dept. of Homeland Security

“A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty.”—James Madison. (Snip) If the United States is a police state, then the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is its national police force, with all the brutality, ineptitude and corruption such a role implies. In fact, although the DHS’ governmental bureaucracy may at times appear to be inept and bungling, it is ruthlessly efficient when it comes to building what the Founders feared most—a standing army on American soil. The third largest federal agency behind the Departments of Veterans Affairs and Defense, the DHS—with its 240,000

The Supreme Court on Monday tightened restrictions on gun purchases, ruling that buyers must take care to explicitly state on their federal purchase form whether they intend to keep or sell their newly-bought gun to someone else. The 5-4 ruling was seen as the biggest test of gun rights during this term of the Supreme Court, and a majority of justices signaled their desire to strictly interpret the law in light of difficulties in background checks. “No piece of information is more important under federal firearms law than the identity of a gun’s purchaser—the person who acquires a gun as a result

Obamacare Anti-Conscience Mandate:

Last week, in Michigan Catholic Conference v. Burwell, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit rejected the appeal of Catholic nonprofit groups in their challenge to the Obamacare anti-conscience mandate. The court got it wrong by second-guessing the religious beliefs of these groups. Formal houses of worship and their integrated auxiliaries (e.g., church-run soup kitchens) are exempt from this mandate—which requires employers to pay for employee health insurance coverage that includes contraception, sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs—and other nonprofit religious employers are eligible for an “accommodation.” Under the accommodation, employers must self-certify to a third-party administrator that they have a

President Obama will visit Cannonball, N.D., today, home of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation, to celebrate increased cooperation between tribal and federal governments. One issue, not on the official agenda but likely on the minds of several Native Americans leaders, is federal regulation of resources and the Keystone Pipeline. While North Dakota is experiencing one of the greatest oil booms in American history, several area reservations suffer from systemic poverty. In the Standing Rock Nation alone, unemployment rates hover around 80 percent. But in nearby Fort Berthold Reservation, jobless numbers have fallen below 2 percent,

There are two words that recur like a drumbeat in the news stories about David Brat’s defeat of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the Virginia primary last night. One is “historic.” The second is some variant of “stunning” (“staggering,” “shocking,” etc.). (Snip) Frankly, though, what surprises me about such events as David Brat’s victory is the surprise they occasion. Nigel Farage and the other anti-EU politicians weren’t supposed to trounce the established parties in the European elections a couple of weeks ago. It won’t be as simple from now on for ineffective California teachers to coast off to a lifetime career on easy street. In a Los Angeles Superior Court ruling today, Judge Rolf M. Treu “found five California laws governing teacher tenure, layoffs and dismissals unconstitutional,” reports Politico. “Treu found,” reporter Stephanie Simon wrote, “that the statutes permit too many grossly incompetent teachers to remain in classrooms across the state —and found that those teachers shortchange their students by putting them months or years behind their peers in math and reading.” There’s no doubt that not all teachers are created equal. When the Republican Party deviates from its limited-government talk, it´s almost always at the bidding of Big Business. And in these cases Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran almost always sides with Big Business. Cochran, the six-term Mississippi senator, has suddenly become the underdog in his re-election. The Republican primary has gone to a runoff after Cochran and conservative challenger Chris McDaniel both finished with 49 percent of the vote. (McDaniel finished 1,386 votes ahead of Cochran.) McDaniel has succeeded thanks to grassroots enthusiasm and $3.6 million in support from the Club for Growth and Senate Conservatives Fund. Cochran has survived so far

David Brat, the grassroots-fueled candidate who defeated Eric Cantor in the GOP primary in Virginia´s 7th congressional district, is an academic economist at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. As anyone who´s been in college in the age of the internet knows, that means he´s got a page on RateMyProfessors.com - a page where students can submit their reviews. The reviews for David Brat paint a picture of a well-liked professor who often had high demands of his students. Also, he has the coveted "hot chili pepper" on his profile - the symbol of a professor students think is particularly attractive.

The Dietary Guidelines may soon be based on global warming as much as human nutrition. Currently, the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) is working on recommendations for the 2015 Guidelines. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will use the Committee’s recommendations to modify the Guidelines, which are updated every five years. Unfortunately, the DGAC has taken the Guidelines in a radical direction that has nothing to do with dietary health. Make no mistake: the Guidelines are influential. They are used to develop many federal nutritional programs, including school meal programs. If this environmental

Many Western nations are restricting immigration because of popular anger at the unwelcome changes brought about by mass immigration. America seems to be the rare country with the misfortune of having politicians who won’t stand up for citizens. How many nations around the world have to be thrown into crisis and division for us to learn that mass immigration is not always a positive? Israel, Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Norway are just a few of the Western nations that energetically guard their territorial integrity, and some party leaders in those countries openly explain why they do so.

Wikipedia has an article describing the six times Republican politicians suggested impeaching Barack Obama, the most serious of which was a hearing by the House Judiciary Committee “formally titled ‘The President’s Constitutional Duty to Faithfully Execute the Laws,’ that has been viewed as an attempt to begin justifying impeachment proceedings”. (Snip) The problem with the “Obama is unimpeachable” argument is that he has already been impeached as Leader of the Free World. Bill Clinton is by far the most admired president of the past quarter century, a new poll shows, underscoring how much he has done to burnish his profile since leaving the White House in 2000. Asked which president of the past 25 years they admired most, some 42% of respondents named Mr. Clinton in the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News/Annenberg Survey. That was more than twice the share that named any other president. The other three presidents of the quarter century all polled about the same: 18% said they most admired President Barack Obama; 17% named George W. Bush; and 16%

Hardly anyone accepts the IRS’ claim to have lost two years of Lois Lerner’s emails. Those most familiar with government record retention requirements, and the technology used, probably are the most skeptical. The supposedly lost emails cover January 2009 to April 2011, the period when Lerner is suspected of targeting conservative groups with heightened and invasive scrutiny. Those emails also pertain to communications Lerner may have had with agencies other than the Internal Revenue Service. That’s key, because many suspect that the Obama White House knew about, and may have coordinated, the targeting.
