Leland Yee, the Kochs, and the Press
National Review Online, by Jonah Goldberg

Original Article

Leland Yee, a Democratic state senator and candidate for secretary of state in California, has been a longtime champion of gun control. This week he was arrested on numerous charges, including conspiracy to deal firearms without a license and conspiracy to illegally transport firearms. Yee, a prominent foe of assault weapons, allegedly took bribes to set up a meeting between an undercover agent and an international arms dealer to broker the sale of automatic weapons and shoulder-fired missiles. A lengthy FBI affidavit also describes Yee’s ties to a Chinese triad and his desire to help out Islamist militants. In short, the

If these were Republicans, the MSM would have this story on the front page until sometime in mid November of 2016. And the word "Republican" would be front and center in every story.

Since these are Demon-RATS, this story will get minimal coverage (where their political party is never mentioned), and will dissapear in a couple of days. And the word "Democrat" will be shown as little as possible.

just can´t believe the FBI run by Holder´s DOJ is actually doing its job. I thought they spent all their time under covering racist Rednecks out in Hooterville.

Whoever the FBI agents are I tip my hat to them.

Bob Dylan lyrics fetch $2 million

Packed with doodles, corrections and margin notes, a working version of arguably Bob Dylan’s best known song has been sold by Sotheby’s for more than £1 million. Dylan’s tinkering with “Like a Rolling Stone” is laid bare on a piece of stationery from the Roger Smith hotel, a block from the White House in Washington DC. Scribbled in pencil on four sheets of paper, it appears like a stream of consciousness as Dylan put together a song which became almost an anthem for millions of teenagers in the 1960s. Amidst the lyrics are doodles of a chicken, a hat, a deer and possibly

Generally speaking, the further into a U.S. president’s tenure in office one gets, the less volatility there is in that president’s job-approval rating. It’s pretty logical that 1,979 days into Barack Obama’s presidency, the number of people most inclined to approve of his performance has stabilized, as has the number of those disposed to disapprove of him. Given that Obama tends to evoke particularly strong emotions with bedrock supporters and equally adamant opponents, arguably more people than usual have locked in their opinions. And those who are undecided by this point are the folks who have pretty much checked out of

Medicaid wrongly paid out more than $14 billion last year to managed care organizations, often for treatments or services that were not necessary, never performed or weren´t eligible for coverage. That´s according to a new report from the Government Accountability Office. For comparison, $14 billion is the cost of the new airport planned for Beijing, China. It´s also how much the U.S. government has spent training Iraq´s military since 2003. MCOs, which allow Medicaid beneficiaries to get their care though state-run programs are rapidly increasing in popularity through the expansion of Medicaid. The amount of annual improper payments could increase because of Obamacare,

But Mrs Brooks, who edited The Sun and the News of the World before promotion to News International chief executive, was exonerated after being cleared of conspiracy to hack phones, conspiracy to corrupt public officials and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. One: Piketty’s Charge- If politics is a war by other means, then books often serve as the artillery. Take Herbert Croly’s The Promise of American Life, the foundational text of modern American liberalism. Its publication in 1909 was heralded as a revelation, when in fact it was more a synthesis of notions that had been floating around in the political ether for a decade. Theodore Roosevelt loved it. “I do not know when I have read a book which I felt profited me as much,” T.R. wrote to Croly. “I shall use your ideas freely in speeches I intend to

For years, Dr. Harry Lever, a cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic, has been warning nearly anyone who would listen of his growing suspicions about generic versions of a widely used heart drug, Toprol XL. Patient after patient, he said, would visit his office complaining of chest pains or other symptoms after switching from the brand-name version, made by AstraZeneca, to a generic product, often one made in India. When he switched them back to the brand — or to another generic — the symptoms disappeared, he said. Dr. Lever wrote a letter outlining his concerns to the Food and Drug

Facebook’s News Feed—the main list of status updates, messages, and photos you see when you open Facebook on your computer or phone—is not a perfect mirror of the world. But few users expect that Facebook would change their News Feed in order to manipulate their emotional state. We now know that’s exactly what happened two years ago. For one week in January 2012, data scientists skewed what almost 700,000 Facebook users saw when they logged into its service. Some people were shown content with a preponderance of happy and positive words; some were shown content analyzed as sadder than average.

Edward Klein’s book about the animosity between the Clintons and Obamas, “Blood Feud” (Regnery Publishing), rocketed up the best-seller charts since it was featured in The Post last Sunday. Here, in another exclusive excerpt, Klein describes how Bill’s health is a preoccupation of the Clintons. A pair of black, armor-plated SUVs swung into a suburban cul-de-sac and crunched to a stop in the driveway of the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York. A wall of burly Secret Service agents jumped out and surrounded the man who emerged from the lead vehicle. It was mid-summer 2013, and Bill Clinton looked shrunken and weary.

What transpired in the Mississippi Senate run-off is a red line for many conservatives across the country, because the Republican Party establishment essentially took a civil war and escalated it to a war for independence. It’s one thing to oppose your base in a primary. It’s entirely another to despicably play the race card against your base, and bolster the legitimacy of the propaganda of our race-baiting opponents on the Left. But that’s exactly what the Kamikaze pilots running the GOP did. As a result, Chris McDaniel won Republican voters handily on Tuesday, but still lost the run-off statewide thanks

There are two arguments that advocates of Chris McDaniel are using to suggest that the results of Tuesday´s Republican Senate run-off election in Mississippi should be overturned. First, they argue that voters who voted in the Democratic primary and the Republican run-off should be eliminated from the total. And, second, they argue that Mississippi law prevents someone from voting in a party primary who won´t support the general election candidate. Neither argument will work. In the first case, there are almost certainly not enough Democratic primary/GOP runoff ballots to make up the nearly 7,000-vote gap between McDaniel and incumbent Sen. Thad
