Another man might have assumed, correctly, that launching a campaign of insult and insinuation against two billionaires would result in renewed attention to his own finances. Not Harry Reid. The Senate Democratic leader since 2005, and the Senate majority leader since 2007, is not one to reflect before speaking. His mouth runs far ahead of his brain. In recent years Reid has declared an American war “lost” while our troops still fought overseas; praised President Obama for his “light” skin and “no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one”; asserted falsely and without evidence that Mitt Romney had not paid

A corrupt, evil, vicious, old, senile man! Oh, Democrat! Sorry, I thought for a moment of Robert Byrd, but on reflection, don´t think Byrd was corrupt...or evil... or vicious. Nor a liar. But he was a Democrat!

What a despicable excuse for a man. He is blatantly guilty of all the things he charges that his opponents are guilty of. He is an embarrasment to the Senate and the Country, but obviously not to the Democrat Party. Evey time you think that Reid and the Democrats could not sink any lower they manage to find a way. The only thing worse than the Democrats are the idiots who keep electing them in the face of all their corruption and incompetence.

FTA: "His mouth runs far ahead of his brain."

You mean, somewhere down the line, Reid reflects upon what he said and realizes he mis-spoke?

I think his mouth and brain are perfectly synched. It´s just that one works and the other doesn´t.

Ha, ha. Since he is reimbursing his campaign funds for 17K, he said, wouldn´t it have been less expensive for him to just gift the granddaughter $13K which could have been ´tax free´ to her. Appears this is costing him some dollars........then we go back to 2012. Good possibility more will be looking into his campaign donors and his land deals.

Keep complaining about the Kock Brothers, Hairy......you bring more attention to your rotten deals...Sons Included!

Considering the sundry enthusiasms upon which government at all level spends our money — Harry Reid’s bovine literary interests, helping out those poor struggling people who own Boeing — it is remarkable that the job of apprehending a known felon, once deported from the United States and illegally present in Texas, fell to volunteers in Brooks County, near the Mexican border. Brooks County, like many other border areas, is overrun with illegal immigrants, and the cost of burying those illegals who die in transit, which can run into the six figures annually, has forced the county to cut back on

Texas Gov. Rick Perry has some nerve. He had the gall to assert in an appearance on ABC’s This Week that the virtual refugee crisis on America’s southern border is not simply a legal problem but a problem of border security. Moreover, Perry seemed to be getting the tinfoil hat treatment when he stood by his claim that the White House doesn’t seem to mind this crisis all that much. Perry began his contentious interview about border security with ABC’s Martha Raddatz by outlining the multiple petitions he sent Washington seeking redress for the issue of unaccompanied minors crossing the

Texas Governor Rick Perry and a key U.S. lawmaker renewed Republican calls on Thursday for National Guard troops to be sent to the U.S.-Mexico border to help stem a surge of Central American nationals entering the United States illegally. Perry addressed members of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security at a field hearing at McAllen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, the region hardest hit by the thousands of children and families who have streamed to the border in recent months. He said Texas expects to spend an extra $1.3 million a week through the end of the year

Japan’s historic move to reinterpret the country’s postwar “peace constitution” this week and adopt a more active role in Asia-Pacific security comes none too soon for the United States. Right now, more than ever, Washington needs robust allies. In East Asia, the broader Middle East, the Sahel and Eastern Europe, extremists, sub-national groups and even hostile countries seek to take over territory and change borders and governments through coercion, intimidation and terrorism. Although these events might seem disparate and limited in scope, their number and frequency amount to a global challenge to the international order the United States has led since World

Ordinary Internet users, American and non-American alike, far outnumber legally targeted foreigners in the communications intercepted by the National Security Agency from U.S. digital networks, according to a four-month investigation by The Washington Post. Nine of 10 account holders found in a large cache of intercepted conversations, which former NSA contractor Edward Snowden provided in full to The Post, were not the intended surveillance targets but were caught in a net the agency had cast for somebody else. Many of them were Americans. Nearly half of the surveillance files, a strikingly high proportion, contained names, e-mail addresses or other details that the

The Environmental Protection Agency is planning to expand its jurisdiction over the nation’s waterways under the Clean Water Act to include ditches, small streams, ponds, and other purely local waterways. Nearly 204,000 comments have been received since the rule was proposed on April 21, 2014, mostly from Americans opposed to it. Ten U.S. senators also sent a letter to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy expressing their concerns about the proposed rule changes. Among the examples of potential overreach the senators cite are attempts by environmentalists to ban fireworks at Lake Tahoe along the border of California and Nevada. The senators fear the expanded

Team Obama was told, over and over, that the Iraqi army couldn’t stop a terror group that was ready to pounce. But Washington was a prisoner to its paradox of an Iraq policy. On November 1, 2013, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki visited the White House, and made a rather stunning request. Maliki, who celebrated when the last U.S. troops left his country in 2011, asked Obama for American drone strikes on his country again; that’s how serious the threat from Sunni insurgents led by the extremist group ISIS had become. Twelve days later, Brett McGurk, a deputy assistant secretary of state

By the time the Continental Congress declared independence in 1776, the British government had done quite a bit to provoke it. Colonists had been resisting Parliament´s authority for almost a decade. But many American patriots wanted to remain loyal to King George III right up until the American Prohibitory Act of December 1775. The king not only brushed aside the colonists´ legitimate grievances but declared them to be in rebellion and cast them outside royal protection. The act authorized a war against them — a naval blockade of their ports and the hiring of foreign mercenaries to suppress their rebellion.

The Obamas have spent over 44 million dollars in taxpayer money on travel and vacations. Some are even calling him the “most well-trvaeled, expensive” president in our nation’s history. As Americans head off for the long holiday weekend, let’s take a look back at some of the president’s holiday spending. Our president vacations a lot — we’re talking $44,351,777.12 worth of “a lot,” with most expenses charged to the American taxpayer. As of March 2014, Obama has spent more time traveling internationally than any other president, taking 31 trips since assuming office in 2009. The 119 days spent overseas have

The dummy was clad in overalls, standing by a walker next to the outhouse. President Obama has quietly promised Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren complete support if she runs for president — a stinging rebuke to his nemesis Hillary Clinton, sources tell me. Publicly, Obama has remained noncommittal on the 2016 race, but privately he worries that Clinton would undo and undermine many of his policies. There’s also a personal animosity, especially with Bill Clinton, that dates from their tough race six years ago. A former Harvard law professor and administration aide, Warren would energize the left wing of the Democrat Party just as Obama did against Clinton in 2008.
