World Vision reverses decision to hire
Christians in same-sex marriages

Fox News, by Staff

Original Article

Facing a firestorm of protest, the prominent Christian relief agency World Vision on Wednesday reversed a two-day-old policy change that would have allowed it to hire Christians in same-sex marriages in the US. The aid group sent a letter to supporters saying the board had made a mistake and was returning to its policy requiring celibacy outside of marriage "and faithfulness within the Bible covenant of marriage between a man and a woman."

Comments:
I will now reverse by decision to withhold my financial support.

There is simply no such thing as a "same sex marriage".

Too late as far as I´m concerned. They´ve exposed their worship of the god of socialism.

"We have listened to you and want to say thank you and to humbly ask for your forgiveness"

Nope, sorry, too late, you have already revealed who your are, and that you don´t stand for anything. You have not recanted due to any qualms of conscience, but only due to public disapproval.

There are too many other, faithful organizations that deserve my money.

In other words, the people who had been donating (evangelicals) withdrew their support. Hard to run a billion-dollar Christian agency on the donations of a few San Francisco types.

The decision to allow same-sex "marrieds" as hires demonstrates their lack of Christian convictions; their decision to reverse course after the donations were forecast to drop demonstrates their true god is.....money. They lose on both counts with persons with true Christian convictions. There is no way to put the toothpaste back in the tube.

I can´t find it now - but last night I read that they they received cancellations from donors who had been supporting 2000 children - would have totaled about half a million dollars a year loss.

Why does promoting unity always involve spitting in Christian´s faces? I wasn´t feeling the unity. It was like throwing a bomb into a crowded place. You couldn´t have created more disunity in an instant if you tried. World Vision was profoundly stupid if they couldn´t see that 1) this wasn´t going to work, 2) they would have to walk it back, and 3) now they have both the gays and evangelicals mad at them.

I have never donated to World Vision. I always had a gut feeling they were not what they´d like yo to believe they are. Now, they have given credence to my gut feeling.

#4 expresses my first thought. But Christians are still sinners, so I would just say that any Christian in a homosexual "marriage" needs repentance, not affirmation. And World Vision needs to be seeking God´s forgiveness, before that of their donors.

I have had a relationship with a child in Africa for over 5 years through World Vision. When they made their announcement concerning acceptance of "homosexual marriage" I felt very hurt and betrayed. I immediately cancelled my sponsorship even though it would break the relationship with this innocent child.

As Christians we are to hold one another accountable. World Vision was held accountable through the Christian community. Now that they have repented (at least outwardly) I still feel betrayed but I will forgive them so that I may continue my relationship with my sponsored child.

We stopped giving a year ago when they kept swapping out the girl we were ´supporting´. Not as bad as giving to anything to do with the UN, but looks t/b headed that direction. Want to say over time organizations get fat and happy and complacent - but yet the world and the needs change. About the only one that hasn´t has been the Salvation Army.

World Vision, the international Christian-based aid organization, on Monday made a surprise announcement on one of the most divisive social issues of the day, saying it will now employ Christians in the U.S. who are in legal same-sex marriages. The Federal Way-based humanitarian group delivered the news to employees in a letter from President Richard Stearns. Calling gay marriage one of the stormiest issues that has divided denominations, congregations and families, Stearns said leaders

The U.S. deported Honduran children as young as 1-1/2 years old on Monday in the first flight since President Obama pledged to speed up the process of sending back illegal immigrant minors from Central America. Fleeing violence and poverty, record numbers of children from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala have crossed into the United States over the past year, sparking intense debate about how to solve the problem. Monday´s flight from New Mexico to San Pedro Sula, the city with the highest murder rate in the world, returned 17 Honduran women, as well as 12 girls and nine boys, aged

The Obama administration quietly announced on Tuesday that it intends to change the way Americans learn about natural disasters and other major emergencies during radio and TV broadcasts, giving the president the ability to flip a switch and address the entire nation at once. The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

According to the Associated Press, Keller is "a married military veteran and newly elected senator who´s pushing for more gun control in Riverdale after his husband was involved in a shooting." Archie Comics´ publisher and co-CEO Jon Goldwater said the way in which Archie will die was carefully chosen. WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore.
