Is Ted Cruz eligible to serve as president?
Sioux City Journal [IA], by Anthony Gaughan

Original Article

If his frequent trips to Iowa are any indication, Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has his eyes set on the White House. But there´s just one catch: Cruz was not born in the U.S. So is Cruz even eligible to serve as president? The answer is yes. Here´s why. Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta, in 1970. His mother was American and his father was Cuban. Before his birth, Cruz´s parents moved from Houston to Canada to take jobs in the Alberta oil industry. The family returned to Texas in 1974. Although born abroad, Cruz received U.S. citizenship at birth. The reason is because

Is Obama?

Was Obama legally adopted by Soetero?
When did Obama legally change his name back?

Who is the dad listed on the real birth certificate?

And where exactly was Obama born?

All Ted needs to do is produce a photo shopped birth certificate like Obama and he`s in like Flint. Once he does that any CraPMedia questions are off limits. Further inquires will be considered racist against a Hispanic minority.

Of course, the anti-Cruz crowd has this arrow in their quiver. While Gaughan deftly deals with it here, you can be sure it will be used repeatedly should Ted run for POTUS.

It might actually be a positive, since that would once again raise the qualifications of our current pResident and others who sought the office. Is Ted any less qualified than Barack (who was born in Ken..er "Hawaii"), or even Johnnie Mac (who was born in the Panama Canal Zone), or Mitt (whose father was born in Mexico)?

Bring it on.

But thank you for asking. It keeps the name of the 45th President of the U.S.A. in the news.

Neither Barry nor Ted is a "natural born Citizen." However, each is a citizen at birth.

And that citizenship was conferred on each by law through their mother.

I think it would be constructive for the republicans to re-file the many bills that the democrats filed in an effort to redefine "natural born Citizen" and presidential eligibility. Each of those bills was filed in an effort to pave the way for Barry.

And when none of those bills was passed, Pelosi committed perjury, lawsuits were dismissed for no standing, the lame street media, deliberately avoided the legal issues, and demonized any questioner as a "birther."

The precedent has been set by Barry. He was a citizen at birth and so is Cruz. End of story.

Desperation is so unattractive. I have a feeling Cruz isn´t angling for the presidency. He seems more likely to stay visible so he can have an affect on the agenda. I think he has a short list of people he´d like to see nominated and he´ll do what he has to in order to help them.

But no matter what he does, certain people will freak and shriek.

Nevertheless, compelling evidence of the framers´ intent comes from the Naturalization Act of 1790. Passed by the First Congress, the act declared that "the children of CITIZENS of the United States that may be born beyond sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens."

US citizenship is not based on British laws where it is determined by blood lines and the father.
It is based on the soil meaning born of the land no matter where born if the child has one US Citizen parent that child does also.
When Obama was born Hawaai had a different set of rules not compliant with US State status.
Even if he was born in Kenya Obama was born a citizen because his claimed mother was born a citizen.
The truth is when he was adapted by Soetero his mom waived both their status to marry an Indoneasian citizen because neither country recognized duel citizenship.
She never returned to the US except to visit because she was no longer a citizen and Barry´s status rests on the actions of his grandparents. Did they petition before he was 18 or did he petition at that age?
Did he receivea non citizen Fulbright scholarship on false pretense or did he not bother to petition --that is the only question.
Cruz´ mother and McCains parents nor Romney´s did not give up their US citizenship. like them my grandson has been a citizen from birth although born in Germany.
Any child born on American soil not just the mainland are natural born period becauseof the solis (soil)factor.

The US Constitution was written over 200 years ago. When writing that document the drafters came up with the term "natural born" from someplace. I would suggest that the term "natural born" came out of British law and if found there, will have a specific definition that the drafters of the US Constitution used as their guide.

# 7 - obama´s momma was NOT 19 when obama was born......She was not old enough to concede citizenship to an offspring. According to barack, barry or whatever´s story his father was a British subject.
Now, neither Rubio or Jindal´s parents were U.S. citizens when each of them was born.

The reluctance of Hamas’s “military wing”—a misnomer for the more extreme elements of its extremist leadership—to accept the cease-fire designed by Egypt is, well, logical. Let’s admit it. They do not wish to accept defeat, and the Egyptian terms are a defeat for Hamas. By attacking Israel, what has Hamas wrought? Considerable damage was done to Gaza by Israeli air power, and Gazans will be picking up the pieces for months if not longer. But Hamas proved unable to kill one single Israeli with its hundreds of rockets, and all its special tricks—tunnels, longer-range rockets, a drone—also failed. Nor could

House Republicans are moving quickly to address the growing humanitarian crisis on the southern border, possibly holding votes as soon as next week. As Congress moves closer to the monthlong August recess, the speedy action sends a clear message to Senate Democrats: Take it or leave it. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), incoming Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and a group of top lawmakers working on the border crisis are set to file a bill that very closely mirrors the legislation crafted by Texas lawmakers Sen. John Cornyn, a Republican, and Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar.

Two of the larger social trends of our time — the growth of payday gambling and the legalization of marijuana — have two things in common: They are justified as the expansion of personal liberty, and they serve the interests of an expanding government. The ideological alliance behind these changes is among the strangest in U.S. politics. Libertarians seek to lift governmental restraints on consensual acts. State governments seek sources of revenue without the political inconvenience of requesting broad tax increases. Both find common ground in encouraging and exploiting the weaknesses and addictions of citizens. (And business interests and their lobbyists,
