The Democratic Party’s War on
Black People and How to Counter It

As one of the relatively few people (percentage wise) to have spent more than a decade on both sides of our political divide, and also to have participated personally in the civil rights movement in the South in the sixties, I am going to say something that will be extremely controversial to liberals, indeed make them hate me. Given all those years I spent on the two sides, I have observed liberals to be vastly more racist than conservatives and libertarians. It isn’t even close. During the time I was on the left, I heard many racially disparaging comments by my associates either offered in confidence or as off-hand remarks.

Normal people do not care what shade of brown someone´s skin is. We only care about people´s behavior and attitude.

The Democrats voted against Civil Rights legislation proposed by the Republicans for at least 10 years until the Democrats controlled both Houses of Congress and LBJ was President.
Then they made a big deal of passing their version of the Civil Rights Act--which was virtually identical to the Republican sponsored bills that they earlier fillibustered and opposed.
Why? To get the credit from black people and their votes.
LBJ is reported to have said when signing the Civil Rights Act "This will have those n***ers voting for the Party for 100 years."
Which party had a US Senator (Byrd) who was a Grand Wizard (or such) in the KKK well into the 1990´s?

And that´s not all. The left is also misogynist, anti-Semitic, and just generally mean-spirited towards all the groups it has hoodwinked over the years.

I haven´t observed too much anti-homosexuality (I refuse to use the manufactured and inaccurate term "homophobia") yet on the left, but if so that´s only because that particular group has not yet been entirely subsumed. I´m certain it will happen.

Sorry I missed it on the first time around, Mar. 10, PJMedia, but it should be read at every Repub/Tea Party/Conservative event until they are the majority again. Black Democrats "need" the endless supply of free hand-outs via the Party. White "progressives" need to feel like heroes to a perpetually "oppressed" and helpless black underclass.

To each according to his needs. It´s the perfect co-dependent relationship. But everyone else is made to pay for it.

FTA: “All these social welfare programs, affirmative actions, etc. were a signal to African Americans that they were inferior, that somehow they couldn’t make it without help. This became a self-fulfilling prophecy, a kind of mass Stockholm Syndrome. And, quite naturally, it engendered a great deal of anger.”

Back in the 1990’s when I was a card-carrying member of the ACLU, subscribed to Mother Jones, the Utne Reader, and Newsweek, I had a black secretary. We were also friends outside of work and we included each other in our family events. While she could attend night gatherings in my neighborhood, I could only go into South Central LA during the day. About an hour before sundown her father, brother, and son would walk me to my car and stay on the sidewalk until I turned onto the main street that led to the freeway.

It was from Helen that I first heard the phrase, “Democrat Plantation”. She schooled me on the “soft bigotry of low expectations.” She raised three accomplished children. Her eldest son became an EMT and ambulance driver. Her daughter was a secretary. Her youngest son won a scholarship to a Catholic college and became videographer for the NBA, later becoming a basketball coach at a junior college. She told me stories of how all her children were mocked in school for being “white”. I credit her with the beginning of my conversion to conservatism. A very wise woman.

#1, I had the same experience. Until I was in my late 20´s I lived in Philadelphia where racist talk was everywhere.

Then, I lived the rest of my life to date in the Deep South. During all those years in the South, I never heard a racist comment. Black people were just part of the culture down there and were working side-by-side with white people who somehow never saw color.

It made me understand that the portrayal of Southerners as ignorant racists wasn´t true and that it was really white Northeasterner who were the real racists.

Simon tears the pop-top off this can of worms and he will catch hell for it -- that is, if anyone besides Rush has the guts to actually talk about it. Liberal media can´t risk the truth coming out. I´ll bet they say nothing.

The most racist people I ever encountered were part of a liberal discussion group that met in an expensive condo on Chicago´s Gold Coast. I found the comments about how it would take centuries for "those people" to better themselves quite priceless, as hey came from a couple of people who born in as peasants living in dirt floored shacks in what is now Poland.

#12, how right you are. When I went to elementary school in Philadelphia in the late 1940s, the school nearest my house was about 90 percent black. That´s because the school board allowed the white families in the district to have their children privately bused to the next school over, an all-white school. I went to the black school and it was a very good experience. The black kids had names like -- I know this is hard to believe -- John and Albert and Mary and Barbara. They had a mother and father, and the fathers worked. The kids did their homework and listened in class. The teachers were good. There was no reason for white parents to keep their kids away from that school except raw prejudice.

Couldn´t agree more with this article. I´ve lived in the South all my life, growing up in the years after the Civil Rights movement. Are there vestiges of racism still evident here? Yes. But they are the exception, and for the most part, are fed by failed, liberal, nanny-state policies, and Obama´s elevation of the reverse-rhetoric of hate. Let´s expose who "the man" really is: libs who don´t believe blacks, hispanics, or any other minority are able to succeed, to think for themselves, or to contribute to society for the the common good. Shame on them.

Democrats were and ALWAYS have been generally racist. The Dems actually twarted something like 33 attempts by the GOP to pass civil rights legislation in the 100 years following the Civil War. Dems fought against abolition (not just in the South but in the North--look up Copperheads), they created Jim Crow laws, poll taxes and started the KKK. There was NO switching of ideological platforms in the 1960´s or 1970´s. That is false propaganda. Southern Strategy was about economics only...NOT race. The Dixiecrats overwhelmingly returned to the Democrat Party fold after the CRA passed. There was NO mass exodus or changing of parties at all during any time in history. It is a documented FACT. The last 50 years have been filled with lies and a massive false propaganda campaign to mislead the public.

The Middle East, always complex, is descending into a form of chaos that seems baffling. Bringing order to the complexity is Daniel P. Goldman, aka Spengler, writing in Tablet Magazine. Hamas feels that it has been forced into a confrontation with Israel – one that it did not want at this stage because of its increased isolation and financial crisis. Ever since President George W. Bush said “Islam is peace” on Sept. 17, 2001, it has been politically shielded from any debate about its effects on its adherents or on the rest of the world. Muslim nations and pressure groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations have used political correctness as a weapon to punish anyone who dared to begin any debate on Islam by calling them “Islamophobes,” an accusation of racism. That era was ended by the lead editorial in the July 5 edition of The Economist, the prominent liberal British news magazine. Titled “The Tragedy of the Arabs,”

Half a dozen things went through my mind. Maybe he’s trying some sort of Cloward-Piven maneuver: an attempt to overwhelm our welfare state to the point where we replace it with “a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty.” Or maybe he’s just trying to flood the population with Democrat voters. Back in the heyday of the British Empire, a man from one of the colonies addressed a London audience. "Please do not do any more good in my country," he said. "We have suffered too much already from all the good that you have done." That is essentially the message of an outstanding new book by Jason Riley about blacks in America. Its title is "Please Stop Helping Us." Its theme is that many policies designed to help blacks are in fact harmful, sometimes devastatingly so. These counterproductive policies range from minimum wage laws to "affirmative action" quotas. This book untangles the controversies,
