´They´ve blown off the subpoenas´:
Republicans prepare brickbats for Obama
administration with new IRS corruption hearing

Congressional Republicans, led by House Oversight Committee chair Darrell Issa, are planning another IRS coal-raking exercise for Wednesday, hauling the tax agency´s commissioner in for a hearing about the nearly year-old tea party targeting scandal. [Snip] An aide to one Republican committee member said Monday that the White House and the Treasury Department were already dangerously close to causing a constitutional crisis. ´They´ve blown off the subpoenas,´ the aide said, referring to legal demands the committee issued to the IRS on August 2 and February 14. ´If the DOJ keeps dragging its heels too, and can just get away with it,

Issa is to Obama, what Obama is to Putin.

I like Issa, but all the hearings are becoming as meaningless as Obama´s foreign policy. The only benefit of the doubt I can give Issa (who is at least keeping the issues in the news) is that Boehner is Speaker of House and I doubt he´s giving any support to Issa´s activities.

Noteworthy that every time Dear Leader Barack Hussein is totally "outraged" at a scandal he supposedly "just found out about" his response is to have it totally stonewalled. Noteworthy.

Have any of these special hearings brought meaningful results or are they as worthwhile as the ethics investigations ?

As long as EH is in office, they will receive no help.

The House has found Holder in criminal contempt. But Holder himself is in charge of enforcing the criminal contempt charges.

How now, all you wise guys? Give Issa your sage advice.

Without the guts to use the considerable power the House leadership can wield ( purse) it´s difficult to believe Republicans are interested in holding anyone accountable - ever. They want this merely as a political tool for upcoming elections. Pathetic.

No one takes the GOP seriously. They have no intention of stopping the IRS from anything. Number one, John Boehner owes his life to Obama and the IRS for helping him defeat the TP in 2012. Boehner´s been trying to get rid of or shut up most of the people we gave him in Nov. 2010. The House can´t name special prosecutors but they can assemble a select committee and won´t do it. They won´t force witnesses to testify under oath. If they won´t go under oath, don´t let them testify at all. Conservative groups targeted by the IRS are no threat to democrats. They´re a mortal threat to the Establishment GOP.

I´m with #10. Karl Rove has announced that the Tea Party is dead. Henceforth the Republicans will stand for higher taxes and bigger government, in order to distinguish themselves from Democrats, who stand for higher taxes and bigger government.
The Tea Party is dead. Everybody wants higher taxes. Just listen to the lobbyists. Ignore anyone who is not employed by the Government and HAS to pay taxes (members of the regime are excused from taxpaying).
We will see some changes when the RINOs are put out to pasture.
It takes courage to make a stand; Bonior and McConnell lack this ingredient.

#8, If Issa can´t do his job without getting advice from us, then he needs to step down and let someone who can(will) do the job take over. Congress´ Constitutional powers and options have been enumerated many times on this forum. The hand-wringing, what-can-they-do argument is getting old.

The Democrat Party has gone so far left so quickly I don´t understand why more true Americans aren´t leaving it in droves. He will have to let Cummings spout off this time, after the last outrage. It´s gonna get ugly, but then it may backfire on the Dems as more may be paying attention tomorrow for the theatrics, if for no other reason. Then they may hear something they hadnt known before.

Let me let the pampered princes in Washington DC in on a secret. The American people despise what you have done to this country. We are furious at the waste, fraud, corruption and greed that oozes out of that cesspool. Very few of you are held in high esteem, very few. We are the ones who are paying your salaries for all the "hard work on behalf of the American taxpayer" you remind us you do each election cycle. We understand your limitations, but what we can´t wrap our brains around is your inability to think and act strategically. An effective coherent course of action should have been set forth by the leadership. You must strike while the iron is hot and dragging out these investigations for months and years is counter-productive. What Lerner and her cohorts were doing is against the law. They succeeded in doing what Nixon only considered doing. I believe it was the second charge against him in the proposed Articles of Impeachment that lead to his resignation. This is a serious matter, treat it as such.

Boehner is just not up to the job. Nancy Pelosi would have Lerner in prison by now if the roles were reversed.

Does anyone REALLY still believe that the GOP is up to the task? No savior is coming from DC, that´s for certain. Restoration must come from the people themselves. Tea Party, 9/12, Patriot groups are wonderful, but there is another grass-roots movement gaining steam every day.

Patriots are seating grand juries of the people in every county in the USA. We will take back every county court house in the land ending overcriminalization of the people getting the boot of oppressive government off the necks of the suffering, overtaxed citizens. Please come to the National Liberty Alliance site-read up-and see what the people are doing. We have a national conference call every Monday night. Everyone is welcome and it is downright exciting! You won´t believe that no one has thought of this before. There is hope. The more get involved-the faster this will happen.

File FOIA requests for everything and then sue for failure to turn over documents. Include each branch of the Justice Department. Drag Holder into the battle so that he can be impeached. Get every single letter from every Senator or Representative that asked the IRS to reevaluate the tax exempt status of a right wing group. Refer the Senators to Senate Ethics. Then call the Representatives. Sue for failure to comply with subpoena and FOIA. The intent of the IRS scandal was to create fear in the grassroots that would prevent free speech. Now Issa needs to create similar fear in the IRS and Justice Depts that they can be jailed if they continue the cover up.

An aide to one Republican committee member said Monday that the White House and the Treasury Department were already dangerously close to causing a constitutional crisis.

No one wants one, but if that´s what it takes....

It´s like the White House has never heard of the separation of powers.´

They don´t like the separation of powers and in fact, they want an imperial America with one branch of government - a dictatorship.

Obama would do away with Congress in a heartbeat if he could. He even said that Congress was an obstacle for him. Regarding immigration, Obama said, "If, in fact, I could solve all these problems without passing them through Congress, I would do so,”.

Since then, he bypasses Congress regularly.

Obama also said, “But we’re also a nation of laws”........which he and his Party seem hard put to obey.

So will America stand for an Adiministration for whom laws are obstacles? Laws are for the masses, they believe, not for them.

OPEN LETTER TO GOP: I am still trying to figure out why you have no witnesses to put on the stand who claim that they cannot get IRS clearance for 501C3/4 status. They´re out there and they are legion, so why not get them together to sign a document claiming discrimination? Or lawlessness? Or stonewalling?

The GOP must link obedience to the law with the power of the purse or they will get nowhere. Unfortunately they already gave Obama all the money he can borrow for another year! That may well be enough to bring on a financial collapse! After that put on a push to repeal the 16th amendment and the whole abusive IRS. If the IRS can be politicized with impunity by one party it must be abolished or you have tyranny. Use the Levin process and force an amendment on Washington since the corruption in Washington is to deep to reform itself. This is a constitutional crisis. If it isn´t fixed the nation is destroyed!

I´ve said this many times over. The only way that the citizens of this country are going to re-take control of our government is if and when we rise up and have ourselves another revolution. And if and when we do, corrections to the Constitution will have to be made in order to prevent the same thing happening again. Using the ballot box isn´t going to work simply because there is far too much corruption in the voting process that none of us really believe in the integer of the process. Dims have been stealing elections for decades and will continue to do so until we have that revolution that can be used to correct a plethora of problems.

The Obama administration quietly announced on Tuesday that it intends to change the way Americans learn about natural disasters and other major emergencies during radio and TV broadcasts, giving the president the ability to flip a switch and address the entire nation at once. The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. The first Israeli was killed by a missile fired from Gaza on Tuesday night setting the week-long conflict on course for an even bloodier new phase with Israel poised to escalate its military offensive. A 38-year-old man was pronounced death at Askelon´s Barzilai medical centre after suffering severe shrapnel wounds from a missile fired on Tuesday afternoon, according to initial Israeli media reports. The reports suggested he was an ultra-Orthodox rabbi distributing food to Israeli soldiers near the Erez border crossing into Gaza. Hamas´s military wing, the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for the death, saying they had killed a soldier in a

Pope Francis has called for ´urgent intervention´ to welcome and protect minors traveling on their own from Central and South America to the United States in increasing numbers. The pontiff said today that such measures should include an information campaign on the dangers of the journey. He called on the international community to rise to the challenge and adopt ´new forms of legal and safe migration.´ Tens of thousands of children have streamed from chaotic Central American nations in recent months to the U.S. border, overwhelming the government´s ability to respond. Francis issued his message in a letter to a Vatican conference

The U.S. deported Honduran children as young as 1-1/2 years old on Monday in the first flight since President Obama pledged to speed up the process of sending back illegal immigrant minors from Central America. Fleeing violence and poverty, record numbers of children from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala have crossed into the United States over the past year, sparking intense debate about how to solve the problem. Monday´s flight from New Mexico to San Pedro Sula, the city with the highest murder rate in the world, returned 17 Honduran women, as well as 12 girls and nine boys, aged

In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin

Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
