Workbook teaches kids that Second
Amendment includes gun control

Daily Caller, by Robby Soave

A social studies workbook, used in an Illinois public middle school, is generating controversy among gun rights supporters because it claims that the Second Amendment permits only strictly regulated, registered gun ownership. A screenshot of the workbook was first posted to the Facebook page for Illinois Gun Owners Rights. It provides the following description of the Second Amendment: This amendment states that people have the right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and have not been in prison. The founding fathers included the amendment to prevent the United States from acting like the British who had tried to take weapons

It´s wrong to teach error. Should demand school board correct this and have each student individually be reinstructed with signoff sheet, "read and understood".

Here´s an idea: Why not just give the students a copy of the Constitution so they´ll know for themselves what it really says.

My copy was a small booklet - wish I could find it. Some organization many years ago sent it to me free.

The Amendment says,a well-regulated militia, not strictly controlled.

The phrase well-regulated was in common use long before 1789, and remained so for a century thereafter. It referred to the property of something being in proper working order. Something that was well-regulated was calibrated correctly, functioning as expected. Establishing government oversight of the people´s arms was not only not the intent in using the phrase in the 2nd amendment, it was precisely to render the government powerless to do so that the founders wrote it.

Militia meant every able-bodied man in the community.

If the British government had exercised strict oversight of the people´s arms in the colonies, as they did in England, The Revolutionary War would not have been possible. The belated attempt of the British to impose control of the people´s arms in the colonies resulted in the "shot heard round the world."

When I was in high school, a friend of mine once asked me if I ever wondered if our teachers were having a big joke on us and when we graduated we would find out that what they taught us was not true. We laughed, although we were both a little unnerved by the idea. That was over thirty years ago.

Very seriously, people, home schooling is no longer just a lifestyle choice. It has become a necessity. They are both perverting our treasure and destroying our future.

President Obama’s domestic agenda seems to pursue a variety of disparate goals, but in reality he was put in office to achieve one goal only: to support the Party by supporting its infrastructure, what I call the Democratic National Machine. Most Americans are aware of the Democratic Machines that ran large cities such as Chicago, New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. Of these, the Chicago Democratic Machine had the longest history and its strategies are still practiced by President Obama. Those local Machines have been united into a national infrastructure I call the Democratic National Machine. The DNM’s sole purpose is to

America’s current political strife stems largely from a simple misunderstanding that occurred back in November 2007. Many of us thought we were voting for a candidate for the office of president, but Barack Obama thought he was running for Philanthropist-in-Chief, a position that would entitle him to skip the part where he actually had to earn wealth before giving it away. White House policy is being driven by an über-left version of social justice that has deep roots in liberation theology and Marxism. “Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security.
