Are Modern People Morally Advanced?
American Thinker, by Bruce W. Davidson

Original Article

Posted By:Judy W., 3/23/2014 6:07:29 AM

In regard to widespread disdain for the Middle Ages, C. S. Lewis felt that many modern people suffer from a kind of “chronological snobbery” and that “the modern conception of Progress ... is simply a myth, supported by no evidence whatever.” Certainly many minds smugly assume our world’s moral superiority to that of people in the past. That assumption merits some close critical scrutiny. This claim probably does not rest on an improvement in the numbers of deaths in war and genocide. Many millions died in past atrocities such as the Mongol invasions of Asia and Europe and the Muslim conquests

No, modern people aren´t morally advanced. Libtards have seen to that. The more perverts and degenerates they can create, the better.

The tech line is going up.
The ethics line is going down.

You would think that in 2014, " The Ascent of Man" would continue but because of Progressive hatred of individual freedom and keeping the fruits of their labors, the social power brokers are devolving society at an alarming rate.

The Ancient Greeks articulated the highest ideals of human kind better than the current

Are we morally better? I hope so. People are inherently good,But....nowadays we have we have to many laws that try to tell us how to act, such as bullying laws. You CAN´T legislate MORALITY. Meanwhile the video games and porn industries send a conflicting message to our kids and are easily accessible to all. We need a simple set of rules to live by. Could someone please write down maybe 10 of them as a starting guide?

MUST READ: It´s not exactly light reading but it does address incoherent worldviews that are held by the Left, by Agnostics/Atheists such as Bertrand Russell, and by other people who are strangers to reason.

The article is important because it answers the title´s question in the negative. And I agree wholeheartedly.

Excellent article. I think progressives use moral relevance as an excuse to condemn whomever they please for whatever reason. It´s particularly telling that they condemn Christianity as homophobic and intolerant while being accepting of Islam to the extent of allying themselves with Muslims. Meanwhile Muslims are so intolerant as to execute homosexuals and indeed kill infidels such as progressives and often do.

America and most western nations have become morally regressed. Returning to the days of Sodom & Gomorrah of biblical times when God had to intervene and destroy all in that area by flood except Noah and his family.

The Middle East, always complex, is descending into a form of chaos that seems baffling. Bringing order to the complexity is Daniel P. Goldman, aka Spengler, writing in Tablet Magazine. A former Wall Street numbers guy, Goldman brings together a lot of demographic data expressed in useful charts, to lay out his case that time is on Israel’s side, and that the Muslims of the Middle East are engaged in a long-term battle, which he likens to the 30 Years War that devastated Europe in the 17th century: The region has seen nothing like it since the Mongol invasion of

Despite fiery statements issued by Hamas spokesmen over the past 48 hours, it was obvious Tuesday night that the Islamist movement was searching for ways to rid itself of the current escalation. Hamas feels that it has been forced into a confrontation with Israel – one that it did not want at this stage because of its increased isolation and financial crisis. The massive Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours have surprised Hamas and other Palestinian groups. Hamas apparently expected a limited response to the recent rocket attacks on Israeli cities and towns. But as the

Ever since President George W. Bush said “Islam is peace” on Sept. 17, 2001, it has been politically shielded from any debate about its effects on its adherents or on the rest of the world. Muslim nations and pressure groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations have used political correctness as a weapon to punish anyone who dared to begin any debate on Islam by calling them “Islamophobes,” an accusation of racism. That era was ended by the lead editorial in the July 5 edition of The Economist, the prominent liberal British news magazine. Titled “The Tragedy of the Arabs,”

In an interview the other day, I was asked what the president might’ve been thinking when he instigated the chaos on our borders with his talk of pen-and-phone amnesty. Half a dozen things went through my mind. Maybe he’s trying some sort of Cloward-Piven maneuver: an attempt to overwhelm our welfare state to the point where we replace it with “a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty.” Or maybe he’s just trying to flood the population with Democrat voters. Back in the heyday of the British Empire, a man from one of the colonies addressed a London audience. "Please do not do any more good in my country," he said. "We have suffered too much already from all the good that you have done." That is essentially the message of an outstanding new book by Jason Riley about blacks in America. Its title is "Please Stop Helping Us." Its theme is that many policies designed to help blacks are in fact harmful, sometimes devastatingly so. These counterproductive policies range from minimum wage laws to "affirmative action" quotas. This book untangles the controversies,

That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School.
