Washington Post busted!
American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

Original Article

A Washington Post story purporting to expose the Koch brothers as behind-the-scenes beneficiaries of the Keystone Pipeline has been exposed as an utterly false propaganda operation, hilariously wrong and politically malicious. Even worse, one of the writers behind the story is married to a political operative in the left wing Koch-demonization machine. The Washington Post was recently purchased by Jeff Bezos of Amazon, who ought to take a hard look at the reporters and editors who collaborated with the left wing smear machine, and while he is at it, should send a note of thanks to John Hinderaker, the blogger

Jeff Bezos must fire Juliet Eilperin immediately.
Publishing a false hit piece on the Kochs should also earn him a libel suit.
They´d are private individuals/businessmen and not political figures.

Fire the reporter? My guess is that the most that will happen is a mealy-mouthed correction including phrases like "some pertinent facts may have been excluded," "may have left an incomplete impression," and that sort of thing.

FTA: Why would the Washington Post embarrass itself by republishing a thoroughly discredited attempt to link the Koch brothers to the Keystone Pipeline?

The left doesn´t get embarrassed. They continue throw things against the wall to scathe anyone on the right to try to get something to stick. If it doesn´t, they just look for something else.

Just look at all the things said by Biden, Reid, Pelosi, Debbie Whatsername for examples.

I really, really want liberal media outlets to tell the truth, all the truth, and to actually report instead of propagandize.

But that isn´t going to happen unless people who are slandered by these rags start suing.

I don´t want to silence the liberal Left because they are doing us a favor by revealing what they are and how harmful to the US they are, but I´d really like someone to firmly and graphically tell this Administration AND their media sycophants where to go.

Better still, form their own conservative media colony of networks to combat the lies.

Why do so many good, well meaning, people continue to call supporters of the command economy, the cover up, disguised name of liberal?

The command democrat economy is one short minute away from the dictator economy, the fascist economy, the socialist economy, the communist economy .........
so, why call this massive, destructive force evil the nice sounding name of liberal, the root word for freedom?

It makes no sense whatsoever, and it gives all these commie Reid Obama Puglosi WaPo creeps a tremendous verbal propaganda advantage, passing themselves off as representatives of a nice sounding word like liberalism, when noBody would ever call Hitler a liberal.

#18, I have not had a problem understanding posts on this site when they use “liberals” in reference to those on the political left. If we call them “communists”, will it be referring to the utopian theory or the way communism has been implemented so far? Do we need to separate the left into socialists, fascists, and communists? Should I refer to you as a liberal? I have more of a problem with applying the moniker of “Christian” – going to church does not, in its self, qualify you to be a Christian.

For my money, liberals, libs, lib-tards, or rats are just as acceptable as communists for me to understand a fellow poster’s meaning. It’s like GWB mangling the English language, after he spoke, I knew what he meant. Unlike Slick Willie and zero, when they finish speaking I have to analyze their spin.

Now, to the article. The Koch brothers need to strike big with a suit that can’t be ignored by the media, otherwise there will be no meaningful correction of the facts. Face it, we read both right and the left articles, but most lo-fos have to hear it from Comedy Central or Jimmy Kimmel. When I pointed out that the Kochs were the major sponsor of “NOVA” (the only thing I will watch on PBS), my lefty acquaintance replied, “What’s NOVA?” The scary part – lo-fos vote.

Many of us here consider ourselves to be liberal in the original sense of the word*, which has been craftily redefined by leftists over the past century to mean the opposite of what it once meant. That´s how dishonest people disguise themselves with a mendacious self-description. The same has been done with the word progressive, which now means the opposite of that.

Although liberal is regularly used in place of leftist, socialist, communist, or fascist, I try to use it in the John Stuart Mills sense, which, I suppose, shows a degree of separation from Rush Limbaugh, for whom it is a pejorative. Each to his own.

The tacit purpose of leftist political journalism such as that which is practiced in the WaPo or the NYT is to publish fiction as if it were fact if there´s an important enough political angle involved. People can be made to believe almost anything. Ideologues lack all shame. The only way to deal with them is to cut down their cash flow, preliminary to putting them out of business.

Washington D.C. itself ought to be about one-fifth its present size, and would be if the federal governmant were pared down to a reasonable, constitutional size. The only four Cabinet level departments I would keep would be the departments of Defense, State, Justice, and Treasury. Everything else could and should be devolved to the state or city level.

And yes, I´d like to see the Koch brothers sue the blankety blank out of the Post, and win. But what Clinton or Obama appointed judge would let that judgment stand?

*the same as the classical liberalism of John Stuart Mill, author of On Liberty

Fending off persistent questions about his residency status, Sen. But a close inspection of that claim shows his children only attended school there for about three months, and attended and graduated from high school in Alexandria, Virginia, although they later attended college in Kansas. “We have declared Dodge [City] our residency; our kids went to school there. In 1776 Americans declared themselves independent of more than arbitrary rule by a distant monarch. They also severed the ties of aristocracy. This was in itself a revolutionary notion. It meant that political power, its attendant privilege and economic advantages would no longer be transferred by the blood. Earldoms, dukedoms, and kingdoms were banished from the territory and from the future of the American people. The citizen became the self-identifying unit of self-rule. The generation of English colonists who gathered together in the summer of 1776 to declare their independence from the English crown knew that they had exhausted all other remedies.

In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. The

Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

The headline in the Washington Post on June 4 was clear: Rove-backed American Crossroads won’t get involved in Cochran runoff Said the Post story the day after Tea Party favorite Chris McDaniel had defeated six-term Mississippi GOP Senator Thad Cochran in the first round of the state’s GOP primary: American Crossroads, a GOP establishment organization, has decided to shift its political focus almost entirely to the general election and will not be spending money in the likely runoff election to decide the Mississippi Senate nomination that was virtually deadlocked after Tuesday night. Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that

President Obama is known for being competitive on the basketball court, but he´s also apparently a cutthroat pool player. Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on Sunday that the president surprised him by beat him in two consecutive games. To add insult to injury, the two were playing at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, a bar that Hickenlooper co-founded. "You know I´ll tell ya -- the man is a shark," Hickenlooper told reporters, Time reports. "I was up a few balls. I felt pretty good. I was actually wondering whether how hard should I --
