Enough With the ´Ben Carson
for President´ Campaign

American Spectator, by Natalie deMacedo

Original Article

To get to the Gaylord Hotel in Maryland for CPAC, I hopped on the Union Station shuttle the first morning of CPAC. As I sat down, I was bombarded by John Phillip Sousa IV and Wild Bill in a campaign ad explaining why Dr. Ben Carson is the “only candidate” who could win against Hillary Clinton in 2016: He’s not a politician, he’s a citizen statesman… studies show that if Dr. Carson could capture only 17 percent of the black vote, it will be mathematically impossible for Hillary to win the White House…we need to elect a man after the heart

FTA: It’s even true that he is revered by many black Americans. But that doesn’t make him presidential material.

That didn´t seem to hurt the incumbent. But a larger problem would be the Dems´ propensity to steal elections.

This is quite a snarky article. The author´s whole premise is that Dr. Carson does not have enough political experience. To me, that is a great qualification. For decades, experienced politicians have done nothing but line their pockets and feed their desire for political power. After years of having the government run by experienced politicians, look where we are. We need men and women of character who are committed to do what is best for the country and not their lobbyist masters. Politicians for the most part are destroying this country and the people are sick and tired of them. The corruption is rampant in Washington. Everyone is jockeying for power and very few go there to do the business of the people. The system is corrupt and it is time the people took back their government from those who would destroy the very fabric of this country for personal gain. Frankly, experienced politicians are the problem, not the solution.

The American people are starting to care less about party affiliation and whether or not someone is a longstanding politician, and care more about voting for a good, decent, principled individual who would do the right things.

Carson does wnt to run for President. If possible, he wants to be drafted. I have contributed and signed a petition urging him to run. If he can get enough suppport he can avoid an untold number of debates (remember Romney standing with 11 other people again and again) and show up at the convention ready to respond to a draft.

#3 is right on! These "experienced politicians" are the ones who believe in bipartisanship who tell us they can work with those across the aisle. Bipartisanship means you have no core principles or beliefs everything is up for negotiation which has resulted in the current deficit and record spending for entitlements and welfare far beyond what we can afford. Bipartisanship means Republicans work with Democrats. Tell me the last Democrat that said I can work with Republicans? Didn´t think so. A financial collapse is coming - Period.

I´m about half sold on Dr. ben.My concern is he´s actually too decent a person to be an effective president. Maybe 90% of the time he´d be fine but how would he react to a war type situation.Would he be mean enough to bomb the hell out of somebody.

It´s hard to convince an emotionally charged population with intellectualism.Ability to do a good job now takes a backseat to celebrityism.

Republican governors all across the country, with the exception of Christie are doing a great jobs. Jobs being created and budgets being balanced. Do they get any love from the population? If they do I haven´t seen it.

Take a revenue rich state like maryland and they have a budget shortfall. The governor is much worse than Obama in many ways. They´re now passing a law where restaurants have to have an allergy expert on the job the whole time they´re open.

If the GOP lacked serious candidates with executive experience I´d consider him. They don´t. The next president will have to spend a great deal of time restoring our credibility and stature on the world stage. That´s one reason why I won´t rule out Marco Rubio despite the immigration fiasco. He´s earning respect among foreign leaders. I think he´s someone who could intimidate a two bit despot like Putin. The Israeli´s love him.

Dr. Carson has no bigger fan than myself, but count me among those who see an inherent danger in putting somebody into the office of the presidency who is completely lacking previous experience in the art of governance, regardless of how well his views may resonate with the electoral base. I´d further argue that the Democrats have provided us an excellent example of how disastrously an inexperience show candidate can turn out to be once in office. Let Dr. Carlson first serve a term as governor to familiarize himself with the tools of government - hopefully without getting too much political slime on his suit - whereupon he would become the ideal, virtually unbeatable, Republican presidential candidate.

Leadership and strong character instead of only the "Executive Experience" would be a much greater qualification for a candidate. One with common sense that knows they are a public servant and works on behalf of the USA population. Strong convictions. Character counts.

The tens of thousands of Central Americans who have crossed America’s porous borders over the last year came on the assumption that once on U.S. soil they would never have to return to their countries. The instigators of this influx correctly viewed Obama’s de facto support for amnesty as a flashing green light. After all, how seriously were they going to take U.S. immigration law under a president who treated border security as a punch line to a joke? In 2011, Obama loudly mocked conservatives, the very ones who foresaw today’s mushrooming crisis, as malcontents crying wolf about a vulnerable border. “You
