Obama Rules Out ´Military
Excursion´ in Ukraine

NBC News, by Carrie Dann

President Barack Obama on Thursday ruled out a "military excursion" by the United States in Ukraine, saying that engaging Russia militarily "would not be appropriate." "We are not going to be getting into a military excursion in Ukraine," he said in an interview with KNSD in San Diego. "What we are going to do is mobilize all of our diplomatic resources to make sure that we´ve got a strong international coalition that sends a clear message, which is that Ukraine should decide their destiny." "There is a better path, but I think even the Ukrainians would acknowledge that for us to engage

Comments:
Not using the military in this circumstance (especially with this "Commander"-in-Chief) is a good idea.
Announcing it to the entire world is dangerous and stupid.

It´s my understanding we guaranteed Ukraine´s security at the time Obama cancelled the agreement we had with Poland to put defensive rockets in Poland and the other country whose name I cannot spell. Of course, Obama´s words meant nothing but, nevertheless, did they not commit us? Are we off the hook because our president is a liar?

An "excursion" is usually considered to be a trip for leisure, something our President is extremely familiar with. Maybe that´s what he thinks the military does. What military forces usually do is called an "incursion", invasion of an area that may be hostile, an area where some could be injured and have need of a "corpsman".

A jury in February found Nagin guilty of charges that include bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy, money laundering and tax evasion, all in the wake of hurricane Katrina. Nagin stirred national controversy with his erratic behavior after Katrina in 2005 breached floodwalls and inundated New Orleans, killing at least 1,500 people and leaving tens of thousands homeless. Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff got an ‘F’ after the nation’s soccer team lost to Germany.
