Jenny McCarthy’s dangerous
anti-vaccine crusade

New York Post, by Rich Lowry

Original Article

Posted By:Drive, 3/19/2014 10:23:43 AM

In a feat that would have been unimaginable a few decades ago, the anti-vaccine movement has managed to breathe life into nearly vanquished childhood diseases. It took all the ingenuity and know-how we are capable of to find safe, effective ways to dramatically diminish diseases like measles and whooping cough in the developed world; it took all the hysteria and willful ignorance we are capable of to give them a boost. A developer of the measles vaccine, Dr. Samuel Katz, says the question “is not whether we shall see a world without measles, but when.” Not if Jenny McCarthy has anything to

Those of us who benefitted from vaccines - my friends whose mothers feared vaccines ended up with whooping cough, diphtheria, and faces permanently scarred by smallpox. My children benefitted from the increased knowledge and prevalence of vaccinations, and polio was no longer the dreadful epidemic that it had previously been.

One rogue doctor in the UK brought much of this down with his phony science about the "dangers" of measles vaccine. Parents who couldn´t face the possibility - now probability - that their children´s autism was caused by their own genes fell into his voodoo like a feather bed.

Even now when he and his lies have been exposed, parents still find blaming the measles vaccine to be more comfortable to accept. And like McCarthy and a few here, they carry the flag, trying to convince others.

What folly. What absolutely dangerous folly.

Anyone who was a child in the late forties/early fifties understands how Jonas Salk put a stop to parents´ panic about polio. No one knew how or where a child (or adult) could contract it and that was the most frightening aspect.

Smallpox/diptheria/whooping cough/measles innoculations kept those plagues away. But someone such as Jenny McCarthy wields the power of the press and the microphone and gullible people believed she knew what she was saying and that there were facts to rely on. Tragic mistake.

2. The real Dr. Andrew Wakefield report is something you will never see, because it excoriates Big Pharma and flips every lie you dearly believe

3. What´s the link between Choicepoint, the Lancet, embattled Murdoch son James, Glaxo Kline and autism?

4. You´ll never know because you are afraid to look for yourself. Here´s a hint - Reed Elsevier

Simple answer - Autism is taught in medical schools to be an effect of early childhood leaky bowel syndromes. MMR Vaccines are known to cause irritable bowel in children. Wakefield said this linkage needs to be studied more closely. The MSM and pharma industry destroyed Wakefield for suggesting this additional research.

The "leaky gut syndrome" found in autistic children is the subject of medical research. Here is one conclusion:

Alterations of the intestinal barrier in patients with autism spectrum disorders and in their first-degree relatives.
(Snip)
CONCLUSIONS:

The results obtained support the leaky gut hypothesis and indicate that measuring IPT could help to identify a subgroup of patients with autism who could benefit from a gluten-free diet. The IPT alterations found in first-degree relatives suggest the presence of an intestinal (tight-junction linked) hereditary factor in the families of subjects with autism.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20683204

The leaky gut syndrome appears to be a feature of some persons with autism AND their first-degree relatives (parents). No mention of vaccines. Just heredity.

In our family in the 50s-60s, two of us got incredibly sick, one near death, from measles. Both times, a sibling who had never had measles or a vaccination (because it was not yet available) didn´t catch them.

Apparently, there are some people who will either be immune or have only a mild case, and others who become seriously ill. Having seen how serious measles can be, I wouldn´t recommend skipping the vaccination.

If one is supposed to call a hazmat team to clean up if one of the "new" light bulbs is broken, what would Mercury do to a person to have it injected. And, yes, Mercury is still used. One can not chelate 24/7-365 days a year for fear of depleting the body of needed minerals and creating an imbalance of the chemical make-up of the body.

I laugh because of how many docs I know who BEHIND THE SCENES certainly switch around the "recommended vaccination schedule" when it comes to their own children and grandchildren. Naturally, they will never breathe a word of it because of the professional consequences.

I fully agree with the article that correlation does not mean causation. Far too many people will latch on a statistical correlation and then go to extremes alluding to the causation of the effect.

A long time ago, I read an article (I didn´t save it) that claimed a correlation of autism in daughter´s offspring of very old (grand)fathers, though it does not necessarily mean there is causation involved.

I don´t remember how much higher the autism rate was for the daughter´s children, nor how "old" the "older fathers" of those women were...but there does seem to be more autistic children at a time where more men are becoming fathers in their 60´s and 70´s...think of Mickey Rooney´s wife having children when he was over 75.

I suppose one with the skills could research on the web how old JM´s father was when she was born, or if MR had autistic grandchildren. But even if both were true, it still would not prove that correlation equals causation.

The rumors that Rupert Murdoch was interested in purchasing Time Warner gained some shape and form Wednesday morning, as the New York Times reported that sources said Murdoch made an $80 billion offer for the TV-cable-film-magazine conglomerate, only to be rebuffed. Per the Times, Murdoch is especially interested in Time Warner’s broadcast rights to sport events like basketball and baseball games, to help grow Fox’s sports footprint. Politicians in Germany have devised an ingenious solution to combat the threat of eavesdropping by American spies: playing classical music during their meetings. MPs who sit on the spying committee had become so concerned that US agents might listen in to their discussions that they had ordered classical music to be played, to drown out the discussions. On arrival at the meeting, The Suddetusche Zeitung reported that for "security reasons" MPs had to put their mobile phones and computers into a large metal box to ensure that they were not subjected to outside surveillance.
