Reince Priebus Claims ´Consensus´ Within
GOP for ´Serious Immigration Reform´

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Tony Lee

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said there was a consensus in the GOP for "serious immigration reform" in an interview with Politico about the one-year anniversary of the RNC´s controversial 2012 "autopsy" report that said the party "must embrace and champion comprehensive immigration reform." “What you have to recognize, which is an absolute truth, is that there is consensus with the Republican caucus that serious immigration reform has to happen,” Priebus said. The comments may raise concerns about proposals to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, which have often come under the banner of "comprehensive immigration reform." But in an

Oh groan. If Priebus predicted a tsunami-type election in 2014 this will cause a tsunami in the wrong direction. Why they continue pushing this outrageous reform when the laws on the books aren´t even enforced is way beyond me.

Deep-pocket Republican donors like cheap labor, and yes, this will throw the election.

But the donors don´t care because either way they get what they want.

Ok, if you read the article he is actually talking about some things which could genuinely be good things. Unfortunately, he wants a "comprehensive" bill. When will people learn that it does not take comprehensive bills to fix problems. As a matter of fact, "comprehensive" bills always make matters worse. Pass a bill on border security. Pass a bill on making legal immigration less of a bureaucratic nightmare. Pass a bill improving enforcement. DON´T try to cram them all into one bill.

Every poll shows that immigration is an issue that is way down the list of importance to voters. This is just the Republican establishment doing the bidding of the Chamber of Commerce. Also, all business owners out there who knowingly hire illegals you should be ashamed. You are a big part of the problem. You are taking food out of the mouths of Americans while lining your pockets. If we stopped hiring illegals and if the government would stop supporting them through entitlements, they would self deport. We don´t need immigration reform. We need Congressional reform.

Unless the GOP is ready and willing to define exactly what "Serious Immigration Reform" means then they are simply selling the Democrat´s plan and once again selling out.

Its a game of three card monte and we are being played as suckers!!!

Why Reince Priebus and the establishment Republicans keep bringing this up is beyond me. Most Conservatives don´t want Amnesty for illegals, disguised as "Serious Immigration Reform". This is a sure way to kill the Republicans´ chances for winning the Senate this year. Why don´t they try serving Americans´ interest for once, instead of catering to illegal aliens?

Well if that is so, he should define what he means by "serious immigration reform" and go from there.

Any sort of amnesty and increased immigration that will change the voter demographics of the country by handing the Democrats tens of millions of new foreign born social oriented voters in the years ahead will mean long term political suicide for the Republicans.

Virtually every key House Republican, from Speaker John Boehner on down, has vowed to oppose a conference committee with the Senate´s immigration bill passed last year. President Obama’s defiant emphasis on executive action reveals a larger failure looming for his legacy: His inability to work with Republicans means that he’s unlikely to score even one significant legislative achievement over the final years of his presidency. Unless Democrats win back the House and hold onto the Senate in November, a scenario dismissed by most political analysts, Mr. Obama has said goodbye long ago to his biggest accomplishments in Congress. They occurred back in 2010, when Democrats controlled the House and Senate, and Mr. Obama signed into law Obamacare, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform act and a two-year extension
