SEIU Hit With Second-Biggest

The Service Employees International Union will have to pay the second-highest fine in Michigan history for its failed 2012 campaign to preserve forced union dues among home care workers. Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson said that the politically powerful union agreed to pay the state nearly $200,000 for failing to properly disclose donors and file timely campaign reports. The union funneled more than $9 million into two 501(c)(4) non-profit groups, Home Care First Inc. and Citizens for Affordable Quality Home Care, which served as the public face of a ballot initiative. “These organizations cannot be used as a means

On the other end (think IRS), let´s see how these particular 501-c-4 groups got fast-tracked to non-profit status.

right u r #2. $200K just cost of doing business.
And remember, the people who did this didn´t pay any price, neither did the union. The members dues paid the fine. Wonder if members will be required to pony up a couple of bucks a month extra to cover the fine...

This is BS on Steroids...a small % fine for participating in the most haneous criminal conspiracy to elect Dims...

What is 9M compared to 200K? It´s called chump change... .02%.

Don´t think for one second the Union thought of actually complying with the law. With a .02% fine, who bothers, that´s round off error on the donut/coffee fund!

$200k is about what SEIU takes in before the morning coffee break.

Sweetheart settlement? What is Johnson´s agenda?

But this was a state case, resources are limited, and the feds certainly weren´t going to help. So do you go into court and drag it out for years?

Isn´t SEIU still stealing money from the taxpayers? or is it ACORN I´m thinking of? So many Demonrat supported organizations so little over-sight.

Most likely the fine will be payed (one way or another) by the overburdened taxpayer.

America will never be free until the bonds between the Demonrats and Unions are broken.

Dave Brat, a local economics professor, toppled House Majority Leader Eric Cantor on Tuesday night in the most shocking primary defeat since Republicans took the House in 2010. The conservative challenger’s victory halts one of the most meteoric rises in national politics, and illustrates the strong anti-incumbent fever that has taken over Cantor’s Richmond-area district. Cantor is the second House incumbent to lose this primary season — Texas GOP incumbent Ralph Hall was defeated by a tea-party backed challenger at the end of May. Cantor’s defeat not only reorders Virginia politics, where Cantor was the highest-ranking

The fate of amnesty legislation this year may depend on House Majority Leader Eric Cantor´s (R-VA) margin of victory Tuesday in a primary campaign that has surprisingly emerged as a high-profile immigration battle. While a trio of House Republicans – Reps. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC), Paul Ryan (R-WI), and Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) – are canvassing the GOP conference on whether there is appetite to tackle immigration before the August recess, Cantor has had to fend off a long-shot, underfunded economics professor who rose in the polls by relentlessly attacking Cantor on the issue. Last week, the Indiana state legislature passed further reductions in corporate business tax rates that, within eight years, will establish the Hoosier State as having the lowest business tax rate in the country. Indiana Governor Mike Pence has said that he plans to sign it into law. The bill will lower the corporate income tax rate each year through 2022, when the 4.9% rate will become the lowest corporate rate in the U.S. It also provides three options for local governments to lower the business personal property tax. This is good news for Indiana, which is rapidly becoming a pro-growth
