GOP can’t stop shooting

At a time when polls show public opinion turning against the Democrats, some Republicans seem to be turning against each other. Even with the prospect of being able to win control of the Senate in this fall’s elections, some Republicans are busy manufacturing ammunition for their own circular firing squad. A Republican faction’s demonization of their own Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, is a classic example. If you listen to some of those who consider themselves the only true conservatives, you would never guess that Sen. McConnell received a lifetime 90 percent ranking by the American Conservative Union — and in

It is called the stupid party for good reason. The lust for power makes them all brain dead. Since there is no theme (like freedom) which brings them together, each one thinks he is the big boss.
None of them can run as Democrats, because they don´t have the connections to Democrat big money.
And Karl Rove is dead set against having a theme.

Last year, McCain received a 82% score, McConnell received a 90% score, Cornyn received a 93% score, and Senator Cruz received a 100% score. McConnell is closer to McCain than he is to Cruz.

Being from Ky, Mitch is seen as being weak kneed when it comes to the Big Fight against liberals and Democrat spread. He has bailed on immigration, Obamacare, etc. We know that Republicans can´t win every battle, but we want to see the battle. Not give up as soon as there is a little resistance!!!

Let´s see.

Harry Reid thinks we should fix Obamacare not repleal it; Mitch McConnell now agrees.

Harry Reid has no idea what to do about jobs; neither does Mitch McConnell.

Harry Reid wants to grant amnesty to illegals. Mitch thinks that´s a good idea, too.

Harry Reid does not want to close the open border. Mitch McConnell agrees.

Harry Reid believes the President should have unlimited debt...$17 trillion and counting. Mitch McConnell agrees.

Harry Reid believes deficits are not a problem either. Mitch goes along with that, too.

Harry Reid believes taxes on the rich are too low; Mitch McConnell agrees.

Mitch McConnell has voted for both of Obama´s supreme court judges; so has Harry Reid.

Tell me again what are the big differences? I bet there are five or six more conservative senators who would have a better record to compare with Harry Reid´s. Besides, the ACU gives John McCain a good rating, too. Does anyone think McCain is a Reagan conservative? (That ACU rating is becoming the Nobel Prize for conservatives...not very valuable and awarded to unworthy Republicans.)

Mitch McConnell has been in the Senate for 30 years and that is long enough. He has been in there voting for raising the debt ceilings and increasing the deficits; he has no good ideas for jobs; and now wants to fix Obamacare not repleal it.

Time for Mitch to go.

Clue #1...GET RID of all the RINO´s.

Take away their water pistols...

Fire all staffers that don´t answer the conservative questions correctly (and mean it).

Now we have a starting point.

I am firmly convinced that the Progressives have infiltrated the Republican Party and the RINO´s and hidden staffers ARE the PROBLEM! Time for a Purge...Lenin Style.

Hey Putie, are the Gulags still operable? We need a place for the Progressives, ALL of them!

FTA: "No doubt there can be legitimate differences of opinion about tactics and strategy on particular issues."

It´s not about tactics and strategy; it´s about efficacy. If Mitch McConnell just wanted to be Republican Senator For Life from Kentucky, and the people of Kentucky wanted that too, that would be their problem. But Mitch McConnell is a national leader of the Republican Party, and he has completely failed to fight Obama effectively. That´s our problem.

We need effective leaders who can mobilize the country to undo the damage Obama has done to it. McConnell is not an effective leader. He has been losing arguments and legislative battles with the Democrats for decades. He has lost faith with the base in his own party. And if the GOP re-nominates him to run for his fourth decade in a "throw the bums out" election, there is a good chance that the voters will throw Mitch McConnell out on his in the general.

The 90% rating does not tell you much. 9 out of 10 things that really don´t change anything and then along comes the tenth vote that matters and the Mc.s fail us. That 10% may have been all that mattered. It may even have been two or three votes. We need a weighted rating where more important votes count more than trivial ones.

What importance are the scores. Sure, McConnell and the rest of the major RINOS voted against debt ceiling increase and to defund obamacare----when in reality those votes did not amount to a Hill of Beans. They voted to end cloture so Reid only had to have a simple majority to pass the bills.
This amounts to playing games and the RINOs do not like Sen. Cruz for pointing out there devious actions Prior to them doing this.

So many are more concerned about their power and control and lining their own pockets and not one darn bit concerning about the country and the inhabitants.
The ridiculous theory amnesty for 11 million Plus, government subsidized for Illegal Aliens from no telling where is good for the country........give me a break. We are already on a death spiral and amnesty will make it faster.

Harry Reid has such incredible power because he writes the rules and the final version of the bill after the cloture vote has taken place. So any section of the bill that calls for fiscal restraint or would subject Congress and staff to the rules they write are stripped before the final vote. Not once has McConnell called attention to this process or threatened that he would use the same procedure to go back and modify laws that had been "edited by Harry" as soon as the GOP is in control.

The idea of pulling nearly all American troops out of Afghanistan in 2016 suddenly seems pretty lousy, after so much of Iraq has collapsed under a similar scenario. When President Obama announced his plan to leave Afghanistan by the end of 2016, U.S. intelligence said it could be done safely. Now, intelligence and military leaders are privately warning that the U.S. counterterrorism forces could be needed there for much longer. During the internal administration debate earlier this year over the way forward in Afghanistan, the CIA supported a plan to degrade al Qaeda to the point that America could withdraw

AUSTIN — A Southern heritage group defeated Texas on Monday, celebrating a court decision expected to force Texas to issue license plates adorned with the Confederate battle flag. A federal appeals panel ruled 2-1 that the Department of Motor Vehicles had violated the Sons of Confederate Veterans’ free speech rights and engaged in “viewpoint discrimination” when it rejected its specialty plate in 2011. The judgment rekindled a loud debate among those who say the symbol honors Confederate heritage and others who see it as racially offensive and hurtful. How does one explain the plummeting poll numbers for Barack Obama? Most people would point to the disarray and consequences of ObamaCare, the IRS scandal, the border crisis, the collapse of Iraq, the VA scandal, the impotent reaction to Russia’s seizure of Crimea, chronic long-term unemployment, and a host of nonsensical distractions staged by the White House to distract from all of the above and more. Last month, polls showed a majority of Americans thought Obama lacked the necessary leadership for his job, and rated his competence below that of George W. Bush at a similar point in their presidencies.

This may come as a shock, but only 55 million years ago, our planet had no polar ice caps; in fact, it nearly became a steamy, runaway greenhouse world, with CO2 levels exceeding 2,500 ppm. Then, all of a sudden, something intervened, causing a shift. Atmospheric carbon dioxide began to drop, steadily generating today´s world, with ice caps at both poles. But why did this happen? And better yet, could whatever triggered this drastic switch be used to temper today´s climate? Good questions. But the answers lay buried deep in the Arctic, hidden to researchers. A pair of lawmakers from Texas will introduce bipartisan legislation in Congress on Tuesday to speed up the deportations of tens of thousands of Central American children who have entered the country illegally across the southern border. Sen. John Cornyn (R) and Rep. The legislation would rewrite the law to allow Central American minors be treated like those from Mexico and Canada, who can
