We completely overhauled American
health care — to insure 4.2 million people?

Washington Times, by Joseph Curl

The number bounced around for years — 46 million. President Obama said it in August 2009: “I don’t have to explain to you that nearly 46 million Americans don’t have health insurance coverage today. In the wealthiest nation on Earth, 46 million of our fellow citizens have no coverage.” He said it dozens more times, including in June 2013: “We are not a nation that accepts nearly 46 million uninsured men, women and children.” The Obama administration pumped the number with official reports. The White House Council of Economic Advisers said, “Perhaps the most visible sign of the need for health care

Overhauled? How about "destroyed?" Its a a much more accurate descriptor.

A more appropriate headline would read "We are completely destroying American Health Care -- to insure 4.2 million people." One thing I haven´t heard anything about is of those supposed 46 million who don´t have health insurance, how many are self-insured. People like Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and the Hollywood A-list don´t need insurance.

"Health Care" was never the real goal.

Consolidation of government control of the citizenry was the goal, and "Health Care" was just the method to achieve that control.

I read somewhere (maybe Census) that the U.S. now has 300m people. So the demonrats had to pass BarryCare for 1% of the population while shafting the other 99%? Not only is BarryCare atrocious but demonrats are stupid economic morons too. Control was the ultimate prize and they have failed magnificently so far.

#4 I respectfully disagree they have succeeded at getting control. In addition to healthcare they control the IRS, EPA, FBI, the Federal courts and every other Federal Govt agency. The Federal bureaucrats are almost all Democrats, mostly minorities, willing to do anything to help the Democratic party. They know they can´t be fired or even disciplined. If they are convicted of violating any law they know the Democrats will take care of them with a high paying job of some kind. The Federal Government is being controlled by the Democrats and they know it the Republicans know it and don´t really care.

100 years ago, Russia´s Communist dictator, Vladimir Lenin, confiscated all farm land for the peasants to use it in newly formed communes, a gift, to sell the idea of State owned, controlled, Marxist Communism.

Here in America, B Hussein Obama, has confiscated
America´s medical industry, for the few peasants who supposedly have no medical protection, has tampered with and destroyed the people´s medical plans, in order to communize the medical industry.

The fraud of the century is taking place.

"You can keep your plan and your doctor", was the big lie for, "We will criminalize and destroy whatever plan you now have, to make it impossible to keep your doctor".

Truly, the fraud of the American century, and supported by the NYTimes, the brainwashing networks and cable.

If these guys say that 4.2 million have signed up, the number is more likely half that. Remember this is the same group that came up with the statistic of "jobs saved or created".

It´s actually less than that. Only 1/3 of people who singed up didn´t previously have insurance. So, we did all of this to insure 1.2 million Americans.

It was a federal law that stated anyone needing medical help received it...A new health care plan was never needed. We did however need reform with insurance coverage...
I hope and PRAY that the democrats find out how much the American people like being controlled by the dems or the repubs....

Actually, the author´s math is wrong. We started with supposedly 35 million uninsured, then at least an additional 6 million lost their insurance.

That total of 41 uninsured was then offset by about 4 million newly insured. So overall, we overhauled everything to increase the number of uninsured from 35 to 37 million.

On the matter of ramrodding: see Intellectuals, Paul Johnson. His conclusion:

"Taken as a group, [intellectuals] are often ultra-conformists within the circles formed by those whose approval they seek and value."

"Above all, we must at all times remember what intellectuals habitually forget: that people matter more than concepts and must come first. The worst of all despotisms is the heartless tyranny of ideas."

What does the headline mean " to insure 4.2 million people" - are these people that had no health insurance prior to the law - how many NET-NET-NET people are now insured vs the number of NET-NET-NET people prior to the law´s passage - how many people are now on MEDICAID vs the number prior to the passage of the law- Are these people aware that their estate will have to reimburse the government for their health care coverage after they pass away ? - How many people know the FULL
impact of this law- I would suggest less than a dozen in the whole U>S> - No one in the government knows- that´s for sure- Where did this 4.2 million come from - If from the Government - forget it ?

And of the 4.2 million that are supposed to be covered by Obozocare, the insurers are saying of that from 15 to 25 percent of that number haven´t paid a premium yet, thus not being covered at all. And we have no information on those who did sign up for Obozocare and learned that in addition to an astronomically high premium, in order to get ANY benefit, they have to meet an equally astronomically high deductible that has to be met. So, for young people who are usually in better health that the older generation, they are considerably money ahead if they don´t buy the insurance if the first place. And the recent history shows that not all of them are so dumb as to rush out and buy it. It´s as if when it hits them in the wallet, suddenly they get some common sense.

If they say 4.2 million enrolled-have they paid or tried to cancel and can´t ? How many more did they put on Medicaid ?

Last week an uninsured person when to a clinic where they had been before, was denied medical care and told they only saw immigrants and to go enroll on Zippycare.

No, "we" didn´t overhaul it -- completely or to any other degree -- to insure 4.2 million people... or even the mythical 46 million uninsured (actually much closer to 16 million, but who remembers that number today?).

Instead, they eviscerated the system in order to (a) obtain a stranglehold on one-sixth of the country´s economy, (b) turn tens of millions (more) people into government dependents, (c) hang on as long as possible to the goodwill of an inevitably dwindling constituency, and (d) speed their enemies -- that would be us -- to bankruptcy, sickness, and an early death.

The question is, What is anyone going to do about it? Anyone? Anything??

We don´t know how many of those that signed up have paid. Those who have never been insured before will be the most likely to lose their insurance for failure to pay premiums, particularly when they recognize what a deductible means.

Federal employees, like all Americans, are entitled to hold passionate political beliefs. Most executive branch federal employees, however, may not engage in certain political activities, thanks to an anti-conflict of interest principle enshrined in a federal law called the Hatch Act. To wit, President Bush requested the resignation of his GSA administrator in 2008 after the US Office of Special Counsel determined she had violated federal law by participating in a video conference with Karl Rove and sending out partisan letters. That´s up from 5 percent in June, and is the highest number Gallup has registered for immigration since 2006, when 15 percent said it was the nation´s most pressing problem. The economy and unemployment rank below immigration and “dissatisfaction with government" as top problems, the new poll found. How would you feel if someone promised to give you a car, and then reneged on that pledge? That’s how all Americans should feel when it comes to ObamaCare -- because Barack Obama’s failed and discredited campaign promise to lower health insurance premiums has cost the average American family an amount equal to the price of many new cars. During his 2008 campaign, one of then-Senator Obama’s most audacious promises was that his health plan would reduce premiums by $2,500 for the average family. His repeatedly made his pledge on videotape; you can view those promises here. But health insurance premiums
